You know i'm totally not a hot dog person, but lately i've become a fatt dog person
One day as i was wondering i saw it, went in, ate it, and was stoked. I dig wide array of sausages and sauces you can combine to make fatt dog your own dog.
If you find yourself wondering around the rincon center, plow yourself into here and get your doggy on.

The name alone made me eat here. I couldn't resist it. Fatt Dog has good dogs, too. All of my coworkers rave about this place and now I know why. They're cheap and good for a quick bite on the go.

I too was was expecting some fatt dogs from this place, but found normal sized dogs and fatt buns instead. The dogs, nevertheless, are very good and I like the variety of dogs that they have. I took away one star though because I think they could do better with toppings. I don't remember seeing chili (not that I like chilli, but I was expecting to see it) or chopped tomoatoes or shredded cheese as toppings. They really just had standard backyard bbq toppings like relishes, mustards, ketchup, onions.
Good place to go on a sunny day. Dogs are tasty and the price is right. Wish they had cheese fries, but the regular fries are still good. Service is super fast and friendly.
** *I just found out you can get cheese fries! Not like I need them, but I will have to try them.***

What do you get if you add curry spices and ketchup? Its the concation of two of my favorite things and its the only place I found that has this dipping sauce for you.
Fatt Dog is a great place for quick food. The dogs run for $3.25 each, and there are about 10 different flavors. The last time, I got a Chicken Apple dog, fries and a drink. They had a special where if you buy $10 worth of a gift card, they give you free fries. I'm a sucker for promotions like that..$5 later, I had my fries... the dog was a bit smaller than the Costco fair, but man, did it taste oooh soo goood! I added some onions and relish to it and man, that was a meal!!
Here's a funny thing that happened... I lost my wallet a few days ago and someone found it and recovered it for me. Yes, my credit card and some cash and Bart tickets were gone, but not my drivers license, not my university ID card from 10 years ago, and.. not my Fatt Dog gift card! :) That just shows you how unknown this joint is!

Finally a good hot dog place!!! I love the fact that you could do a double dog on one bun. Which means you can get two of your favorite flavors in one bun. For me it will be Lemon Chicken and Hot Link, good double dog combo in my opinion, topped that off with grilled onions and Russian mustard. I'm good to go!

Fatt Dog makes some of the best hot dogs I've had in a long time. You can get a regular dog, but I'd recommend something like the German frankfurter, chicken apple sausage, bratwurst, etc. Plenty of fresh toppings, and a very delicious Russian mustard make Fatt Dog one of my favorites for a quick lunch (plus there is plenty of people watching in Rincon Center!). Oh, they also grill the buns, another plus. If they only served some cool sides like french fries or onion rings, I'd give them six stars.

I'll admit it. This is one tasty dog. Great flavor and I love a toasted bun. Also, the variety of toppings is impressive - who's ever heard of russian mustard? My only area of dissatisfaction lies in my own choice of dog. I decided to go for the classic "Fatt Dog," which really could have been treated as an appetizer. I think next time I'll go for a double dog - yes that's right, a double dog. Two dogs in one bun. Who'da thunk?

A good hot dog. They opened recently and though I still kind of like What's Up Dog better, Fatt Dog is right across the street from my office which makes it really tough to beat location wise. They have neat coupons where you can get three for the price of two. The only drawback is there isn't a lot of seating. I think I'd be more impressed by the condiments if I didn't just put mustard and a bit of ketchup (yes I know, sacrilege!) on my hot dog.

Had to try the signature Fatt Dog down at the Rincone. Tasty and very snappy (thanks Evan) hot dog with a crispy, fresh off the grill bun. Threw some relish and onions on there and for about $5 I had a great lunch. Probably the best dog I've tried in the city. I think they should have baseball on all the time on their in store flat screen just to give it that extra special ambiance.

Their original fatt dog is definitely to die for! Just enough snap in the skin! The buns are right on and they have a great condiment spread (very good sauerkraut).
These dogs are pretty dang addictive...if you like like iced drinks I would also highly recommend the Mahalo Madness.....

Cool but expensive... for a hotdog that is.
But they DO have good selection so don't let that first statement turn you off.
Along with fries and a coke you can pay anywhere from $5.50 to $6.75.
So that means you better come knowing your hotdogs!
so come once... come twice... the $2 dollar beer is mighty nice...

Finally a great hot dog place in the City!
I've been obsessed with finding a great hot dog joint in the City after seeing the Hot Dog Show on PBS. Hearing everyone talk about their favorite hot dog places made me crave a great dog. However, I was not able to find one that would satisfy my craving. They were either steamed, cooked on those metal rollers you see at the movies, rotating aimlessly trapped in a caged hot box, or, worse yet, boiled. Until I read about Fatt Dog. Grilled hot dogs that taste like real beef and have the right "snap" when you bite into it. Most dog connoisseurs will testify that a decent dog will have that "snap". Add the fresh condiments and the affordable price and you've got yourself a great downtown lunch. Go for the double dog combo (with either the original Fatt Dog, the hot link, or the kielbasa)!

Fatt Dog opened a store in the courtyard behind the Rincon Center at the beginning of 2005. It quickly replaced What's Up Dog as my preferred dog. Their signature all beef "Fatt Dog" is really tasty and is reminiscent of the classic NYC Hotdog. I also like their German Dog, which is beef/pork with garlic. They have great buns, decent sauerkraut, and plenty of toppings. They have the "snappy" kind of Hotdog; if you're a fan of the snap, check this place out. The only real downside for this place is that they do not have Corndogs. If you want a corn dog you should check out What's Up Dog instead.

My vote is for What's Up Dog (http://www.yelp.com/bi...), which is just two blocks away, over Fatt Dog. It's a close call, and there was nothing wrong with Fatt Dog, but I liked the real hot dog buns at What's Up Dog for regular dogs rather than hard rolls at Fatt Dog. Note that their combo deal comes with drink and chips (not fries) for $5.50. Fries will cost you another dollar.
$3.25 - Fatt Dog
$1.75 - French Fries
Update (29 Oct 2006):
Went back and tried their Bratwurst (all pork, marjoram) ($3.25) and french fries. Again, I wasn't too impressed with their dog. At this premium high rent location, I don't think they could lower their prices, but I still think I'm paying too much for a hotdog.

Mmm... grilled hot dogs. Fatt Dog keeps it real with super-fast service of a variety of weiners and plenty of outdoor seating. The regular dogs are admittedly a tad small, so opt for a thicker sausage.

Being from Berkeley... this Top Dog part deux is NO match for the original. Dogs are OK, but not particularly flavorful (nothing super spicey, juicey or tangy) and the buns are STALE. $3.75 is a ridiculous price for the quality of the food...it's not like they're serving handcrafted sausages imported from Italy. I will say, however, the staff is really friendly and the "Drunken Dog" (beer and hot dog) combo is a pretty cute idea. Catch a $4 BART ride to Berkeley and head to Durant past Telegraph and reward yourself with an original!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally tried this place after passing by it like a million times. It was pretty disappointing! 1st, you don't slice the sausage down the middle because people like a crisp outside and a moist inside. 2nd, the sauerkraut was sour to the point I think it was spoiled. 3rd, the buns were a little stale! The sausage was okay, but to keep up with Top Dog in the east bay you need to have those basics down.
Right now I'll give it 3 stars, but if I pee out of my ass later it will be 1 star!

The Server (with the sidekick phone) is HOT HOT HOT! ;)
I'm being bias here only b/c I know the folks that run this joint... BUT...the truth is if you're looking for a dog -- you gotta get it from FATT DOG!
Try the lemon chicken -- healthy but sure does taste goooood!
This is one of my favorites for lunch if I'm in the office. The only complaint I have is that they seem to always have a cashier that has no idea what's going on.
The signature Fatt Dog is the way to go, with a buffet of fixins ready to go under a flat screen tv that seems to continuously play old kung fu flix (extra points there). Fries are a must and come in ridiculous quantities. All that for $5? Yup. Can't beat that shit.
Update: Closed....a sad day in San Francisco....
I love their french fries they are the best. Great food. Never to long of a wait. Always very clean and well stocked.
I miss Sonic.
Grilled Sausages...Optional Chili-cheese.. Toasted bread... ..a little piece of heaven and high blood pressure haha gotta love it
The people here are very friendly, the lemon chicken isn't all that... but if your craving for a dog in the financial district this is the place to go. Fast service! I will come back and try the Hot links, i heard its good. Best lemon chicken is at Top Dog in Berkeley...
I am from Chicago..Need I say more? Check them out. Buying quality ingredients is obviously the simple rule they follow.
I've been eating at Fatt Dog probably since they opened here and it's great. The dogs are awesome, and the people are cool too. They all know me now, which is nice. I highly recommend checking them out.
fatt dog, why do you have to tease me like that? when i first heard your name, i was dreaming of a big fat juicy dog that could completely fill up my mouth. perhaps i would even gag at the size. hey, i don't swallow though. i know what you're thinking. is jordano straight or gay? is he bi? does it really matter? it's none of your business! anyway, fatt dog is no bigger than an average dog. quite disappointing indeed. it reminds me of a guy who used to stuff a dildo in his pants, and claim that his boy is ten inches long. too bad his ex-girlfriend exposed him as a four incher. ha!
ok, fatt dog may not be all that fat and plumpy, but it's pretty delicious which goes to show you that sometimes it's not always about the size. wow, did i just say that?

I cannot recommend Fatt Dog at all. I've been there a few times and each time my hot dog was not hot, but only warm and in once instance, it was actually cold when I bit into it.
Further, the employees are annoyingly coy and seem to joke around too much. Basically they think they are too cool or something.
The hot dogs aren't nearly as good as Top Dog hot dogs. I've stopped going to Fatt Dog and don't miss it at all.

Needs smaller buns and dijon mustard ;). Clean, nice service. Could have some deals on combos, that would be nice.
Low fat dog is good!
Drinks are excellent!
Real nice owner...good food...worth checking out if you are in the mood for a dog.
