I'll start off by giving a star just for the clean interior & setup, and the Nas lyrics on the front window. Too good! I dig that they offered something a little different than your regular streetwear fare with Fatlace carrying Japanese brands like Edwin, Kiks Tyo (which I'm not a fan of) and Devilock (which is cool but I didn't see it in store) so that's a bonus. I'd have to admit though that when I went, they really didn't have a whole lot to choose from. I like where they're going with the store, but I'd just like to see more things in stock. Staff was the nicest I encountered during my rounds in the Bay though, so that was a good look. Definitely recommend stopping by.
I found Fatlace on Yelp before our SF trip. I plotted out a bit of shopping since we were in the area staying at Hotel Kabuki. After we checked into the hotel we sauntered over to check out Fatlace.
Immediately we were greeted by a very nice guy named Ronnie. He was super friendly and helpful. It was obvious he believed in the products he was selling and his heart and soul was poured into this place. Unfortunately the shirt my bf picked out didn't come in his size. We would have come back when the size got in but we don't live in town. There were a lot of other cool things to buy like a limited edition Polaroid camera and G-shock watches.
I think it's the one year anniversary of Fatlace this week? Congrats and wish you well!

Fatlace, rated E for everyone!
Nothing but genuine people and great products, and if you are a sticker junky like me they will always load you down with Fatlace stickers and anything else they have. The store is well done, and everything there is neat and not overdone. They keep their overstock out of site so you can focus on what is really there. The Flat screen TV is a nice touch too!

I went here during the Hellz Bellz wholesale, I don't think I was their exactly when the owner was there? Or whatever but the atmosphere was good except the really small space-- maybe it was all the girls diggin' through the boxes, I don't know but overall it was a good experience for first time visit, I would def. visit again-- oh and it's hidden, my sister and I couldn't find it until I saw it. ;)
Here's what i love about Fatlace.
Yes, I think you could group Fatlace into the 'streetwear' catagory... but this isn't your everyday streetwear store. They don't sell the same lame Crooks tee shirts or the same pair of "exclusive" Nikes every other store sells... this is high end streetwear folks.
At Fatlace they ONLY sell the best of the best and ONLY the most exclusive stuff that you will NOT find anywhere else. In4mation. Hellz Bellz. Evil Monito. ill Fatlace shirts! On top of the fact that they appeal to the streetwear community, they stick to their roots by catering to the street racing and track bike community as well.
The layout of the store is very fresh, too. When you walk in you get the sense that everything is very minimal, but don't let that fool you on the awesome selection of items that they have. I just think the layout is a take on the Japanese surroundings, very quiet and very tranquil . And on top of that, the website ain't half bad either!
Also, the staff is the HANDS DOWN NICEST group of people in ANY streetwear store you will find. We all know how akward it can be going to one of these stores and getting the "I don't care about the customers because i'm so fuckin fly" stare from one of the employees. NOT AT FATLACE. Go say whats up to the very hilarious employee Kenny and tell him Greg from Yelp sent you!
5 out of 5!
Located in right in Japantown, right across the street from the centre, and right next to Super7. There is no other better place for Fatlace to stand fort in. Fatlace has been making a name for themselves while it's daughter crew/site, Driftunit, also did the same around the same time, since 1999. Fatlace.com had finally big grew enough to have their own store in a nice location of the city. Fatlace and DriftUnit is all part of the transit labs.
The Fatlace store offers an eccentric selection of clothing all imported from around the world. Their own clothing line is very nice. The Fatlace store features some urban clothing. Some clothing are from Japan and even Europe. The interior is quite clean and nice. We have met Kenny which was a really cool guy. I was kinda hoping they might have something from Mexx.
Fatlace's clothing line is pretty pricey but is quite worth it. Kenny had taken a picture of us in the store while I was treating myself to a Fatlace long-sleeve T.
Awesome place 5 STARs

Every time I go to Fatlace they are always super nice. Granted they do lack product but it is most likely because people got to it before I had a chance to. The one thing that is super dope about this spot is that they tie in a lot of hard to find elements in to the store. When i was there the last time I walked out with some rare JDM Steering wheels, JDM toys and some tees that I couldn't find any where else! They also stock some hard to get Japanese bike parts there everyone goes crazy for on the good ole eBay.
Side note. There is a gorgeous female that works there that will still your heart with her sleeved arm and kid size Jordan III's.

I was aimlessly walking around Japantown (one of my guilty pleasures) when I was drawn in by the bright yellow limited edition new balance sneakers on display in the window of Fatlace. The facade is so inconspicuous that I had walked past it many times before without paying it any attention.
Everyone in the store, including the people just seeming to hang out there, was super friendly. I chatted to the girl who was working there for a while about a high-speed electric kettle I just purchased.
They carry really awesome jackets (windbreakers) and I got to hear how the jackets are big with rappers like Jay-z (and tried some of them on but they were slightly too flash for me :).
I found a jacket which I liked at first glance and wear all the time now. I got a few Fatlace stickers too, one which currently adorns my mesh garbage can in my room. Unfortunately, they didn't have any more of the New Balance shoes in my size otherwise I would have purchaed a pair. The in-store selection is small and could definitely be expanded but these guys certainly have the concept right!
I've always been a fan of the website and store to match was even better. I wish they offered a lot more stuff but they do carry merchandise you'll rarely find in the Bay Area. The staff is amazing. I mean AMAZING. Since this shop is relatively new, just opened in the summer of 2007, it's still building it's arsenal and I can't wait to see what they pull out for this year.
Another great thing about Fatlace, they have a place for you to park your bike. How cool is that?

fatlace is a cool shop with cool people and cool clothes.
i'm not super into japanese fashion or bikes or super urban gun jacket clothing, but if you are fatlace is your place.
no kidding, i came here with a friend and she bought their last set of fat laces. yellow ones.
I didn't realize Fatlace has been around as a website until reading the previous Yelp reviews. In anycase, it's great to see some new life injected into J-Town. I'm giving five stars cuz of the super friendly owners and their adorable little daughter running aound and making sure I got the right pair of denim. Oh and my how are my Edwin Jeans you ask? Love them to death and worth every penny.

I walked in because I thought it was called Fatface.
But it's not.
Well it got me in anyway.
Fatlace is a website turned magazine turned fresh-outta-the-oven trendy urb-man boutique. Vans, Wallabees, t-shirts with guns/rifles/bikes/wheels, few pairs of primo denim, and few toys currently fills up this store. Only a few pieces are available for the ladies, but the guy (owner?) there assured me that more is coming.
With the addition of Fatlace next to Super7, the shrinking J-town is def getting new life.
So if you are down with that stuff, stay tuned. This is a good start.

Fatlace has been around as a Drift/Clothing/Sneaker/Biking website for a while now and they've taken everything they're into and made it into a store. What better way to share your hobbies! Decent selection of streetwear clothing, including their own line and Japanese brands that are hard to find elsewhere. They will have a Nike account in the near future and currently have a Wallabe account. You'll be hard pressed to find a store where you can get a fitted cap, tee, shoes, bike frame and a steering wheel at the same store. Expect great things for this new addition to the San Francisco streetwear scene.

Nice tees and great location next to Super 7! If I bought anything, I guess I would have given it a 5 star, but nothing clicked with me that day. I'll be back though. I was kind of dissapointed that none of the Sneaker Heads working there commented on my (not available in U.S.) NB A21s. To paraphrase one of my favorite movies; "they either don' know, don' show, or just don't care about what I got on my feet."

This store is an up-and-coming urban shop with a small, but nice, selection of car and bicycle accessories. This store is quite similar to Huf and The Darkside Initiative.
I wish I could give them 5-stars right away, but they need to carry more variety of clothing brands (like Bounty Hunter for example).
I was a bit nervous about checking out this place today as all the other streetwear/urban/lifestyle stores i've been to offer up a huge helping of indifference/rudeness/disinterest/'we hipsters are better than thou' kind of attitude. Fatlace was a breathe of fresh air and these guys have got a big future here.
Not much stock at the moment, but it's very early days (only 3 weeks), so i'll be checking out this joint regularly to see the new shipments.
The staff there were really nice, genuine and helpful... it was the strangest thing! They actually were happy to see me shopping there and *gasp* actually helped me! I was speechless and shocked, but shortly afterwards felt very comfortable being there.
Thanks guys/girls for daring to be different and for making me want to come back to your store!
BTW: The shirts I bought are rockin' my world right now.
i've been a fan of the website for many years now, it's good to see them progress and open up a store. they carry a good amount of tees that are in trendy styles. i like their own brand of tees that they make and i have received a couple as gift, then made my a purchase myself. i can't wait to see what other styles they come up with for their in store brand.
but the number one thing about this shop is that it isn't the typical streetwear store where you get that snobby feeling. the people here are glad to help and provide great service. there style of service reminds me of what i got in japan when i shopped, they show all of there customers right whether they purchase something or not.
i wish these guys the best of luck with the store.

I really like Fatlace. The owners are super-friendly and the store is just really chill.
They carry an eclectic mix of goodies including T-shirts, caps, bike parts, car parts, watches, toys, and videos. It's really like a candy store for young adults.
What's really cool is that they carry unique brands such as Devilock, Kiks-Tyo, Mess, Official, and their own Fatlace brand. Looking forward to them expanding their brands a bit.
10 stars for Fatlace, amazing service with a good amount of products. 2 places i like now in Japan town, Harputs and FATLACE! haha

this store has a lot of potential. and once word gets out that they are selling Keirin track frames and hard to find custom japanese track bike parts this place is going to really hit.
