This place is cool to stop at on a long drive.

It's you typical rest stop, and on Halloween and Christmas some one will dress up the statue. And if the Trojans are doing good, they dress it as a Trojan!

I remember driving by him as a kid.  At one point someone had dumped a bucket of hot pink paint on his head.  It was him and the Flintstones house that made my boring childhood drives down 280 fun.

That's funny that you can Yelp the Father Serra statue that's off Highway 280. There's something so pure and peaceful about this statue looking at us and knowing that it's been in California for years and years. It makes me wonder what the builders thought, and how the people reacted years ago after its completion. I live this part of CA history--the missions....awesome.

I am just so amazed that there is actually a thread started on this that I feel compelled to leave a review.
Um...he's cool, I guess. I have no real problem with him.  He's nice and quiet, and always lets me know that I'm almost to San Francisco.
