    it's basically like a 7/11 with a gas station

a small food mart with drinks, snacks, and those trial size pills if you get a headache on the road.
they don't sell postage stamps here though.

the gasoline was cheaper here than across the river in laughlin.

    + convenient
    + fair prices
    - could have a wider variety of choices

If I could give a zero rating to this crooked place, I would.  I read a lot of reviews about jet ski rentals before my wife and I visited Laughlin, so I was well informed before we made the trip.  Unfortunately  I mistook Fastrip (or Scam Central) for a more reputable place I had been thinking of.  I wish I had pulled up the review of this place on my phone while in the parking lot right before I went in.  Would have saved me a lot of heartache.

Walking in this place, every ounce of my being was screaming "Drive away!"  Something just didn't set right with me.  But, the call of the river and the attractive lower rate prevailed and my wife and I rented two waverunners for 4 hours.  (Don't judge me.  Remember, I was still thinking this was a different place that had good ratings.)

As in the other review, they took us through the inspection process beforehand.  My wife and I both inspected the vehicles.  We went through the scuffs and scrapes, the impeller condition...all that jazz.  They did tell us beforehand that they were charging us for the gas we used.  At the time it seemed strange to me, because I couldn't remember if I had paid for fuel at other rental places.  I'm pretty sure other places include fuel in their rates. Anyway,  I signed the inspection paper, and we were on our way.

We were very careful with these waverunners.  We make a point to treat things we borrow as if they were our own.  In fairness, early on my wife and I did bump each other, but it was at drifting speed, very slowly.  Certainly nothing to cause major damage.  Maybe a scuff on the bumper.

So we returned the waverunners to the launch area after our 4-hour excursion, the employees put it on the trailer and took off ahead of us back to the rental area.  My wife and I changed clothes and headed there as well.   Still on a high from the wonderful time on the river, I didn't even think that these guys had already refueled the waverunners without me supervising it.  So I paid for the gas not knowing if this was the real amount (I paid about $60)

After the gas transaction I said my thank you's and began walking away, when the guy at the counter told me to wait, because there was some damage on one of the waverunners.  That's when the alarms in my head went off again.  He pointed out about a 3-inch shallow gouge on the left front of my wife's vehicle.  I kept repeating over and over that we were very careful on the river, and this couldn't be caused by us.

At this point I was seeing red.  I was so mad I couldn't even see straight.  My wife had to take over and view the video that they had taken of the vehicles beforehand.  But she couldn't make out whether there was a scratch on it or not by viewing it.  So the boss points out on the contract that we had not stated anything about this damage in our inspection.  Then he said for a gouge that size it would cost me over $300.  I was beginning to make a scene and talk loudly.  It was then that the boss, out of the "goodness of his heart" decided that he'd only charge me for a one-inch gouge:  $75.  I think he just wanted me gone before I caused a huge scene.  I just wanted to get out of there before I blew up and ruined the whole weekend for my wife.  So I paid the 75 bucks, and put it on my credit card to contest the thing later.

As I was leaving, a customer behind me told me they were at that very moment pulling the same thing to her and her husband.  That confirmed it.

We had no way of proving it, and hindsight is 20/20.  I think of all the things I could have said or done.  And I'm sure if I had gotten louder and started really making a huge deal, the guy would have just told me to forget the whole thing and sent us on our way.  But I think they count on us consumers to overlook things and listen half-heartedly in the inspection and we happily sign whatever needs to be signed so they can get on the river as soon as possible.

Hopefully you're checking this review BEFORE you make the trip instead of, like me, looking this place up to find out if other people had the same experience as you.

Just avoid this place like the plague.  There are PLENTY of other reputable places.

I wouldn't even give this place one star. Do not, I repeat do not RENT JET SKIS from here. This place is shady!!! They advertise being the cheapest in town because they are cheap! No where in the contract does it say that we pay for the gas used for each jet ski rented. The owner had it hand written on the front on the contract after we left and did not acknowledge or even told us even when we asked jim if we would have enugh gas for the hours rented. Save yourself the time and take your money elsewhere.

A good place to gas up since it's just across the river from Laughlin with a difference of about 20 cents/gallon when I went.  Also has Powerball,
the Arizona lottery "The Pick" and lottery scratchers available along with most of the drink and foodstuff you'd expect.

I had an extremely negative experience at this Fastrip location.  I went to Laughlin for a weekend in the month of August 2009 to celebrate my father in law's birthday.  We were driving around in the adjacent city of Bullhead, Arizona, searching for a place that provided reasonably priced jet ski rentals.  We stumbled upon this location, which is essentially a convenience store that rents jet skis.  The price seemed right, so I decided to rent 3 jet skis for 2 hours.

Before we headed out for the water, one of the convenience store employees took me out for an inspection.  We did a detailed inspection of each ski, making sure to note any scratches on the fiberglass.  We also looked into the rear exhaust of the Jet Ski, where the impeller was located.  Using a flashlight we checked for any damage to any of the impeller's 3 distinct blades.  On one of the jet skis, I pointed out some clearly noticeable scratches on the surface of the impeller.  The employee assured me that this was not a problem.  As long as the 3 distinct blades that make up the impeller were not damaged, I was told not to worry.

Well, to make a long story short, when we came back to return the jet skis after our 2 hours on the river, the employee that I did the pre-inspection with came inside the store and notified me that I "had a damaged impeller".  I demanded to see the "damage", knowing that I was being extremely cautious on the river.  He gave me a flashlight and showed me where I had "damaged" the impeller.  Well, this "damage" turned out to be the very same scratches he told me not to worry about before we went out to the river!  There were no chips or cracks on any of the 3 blades; simply those scratches I pointed out.  However, I was told I had damaged the $545.32 impeller and now it would have to be completely replaced at my expense!  Funny thing is, while I was inspecting the jetski for this "damage", it was already loaded up and ready to be towed immediately back to the river for the next customer.  I had no time to do the thorough inspection that I wanted.  The customer was already waiting for this "damaged" jetski so that he could take it out to the river.

I find it funny that a "damaged" jet ski could be rented out to the next customer so quickly.  They were in an tremendous hurry to get the jetski back out to the river for some reason.
PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY!  DO NOT RENT JET SKIS FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT.  ONCE YOU GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO, YOU WILL BE CHEATED OUT OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!
