In Taxi Driver you can see a Fascination parlor.
Since I've moved to San Francisco I've been meaning to play a game or two, but I never got around to it. From what I heard this was the last operating Fascination game in the country. Today I was passing by and saw that the door was open. This means that they're either going to reopen it or they were tearing out the insides. Let's all hope for the former and not the latter. I promise you Fascination, if you open again I'll play.
I don't know if this is still open, as it has been years, but this is the only place in the city to play Fascination for money. Fascination, if you don't already know, combines elements of the worlds greatest games: bingo and skeeball. You've got unlimited balls, but limited time in which to roll and sink your balls into the 5 x 5 holes to create a line--diagonal, horizontal, or vertical. First player to get their line wins! And by wins, I mean wins straight-up cash!! Even if you never win, you can take uncomfortable comfort in knowing that your playing likely bought the victor's next meal.
