This place is fun! My friends took me here during the holidays and it was a blast. Not only did they have a great veggie burger, but there's a long list of beer and pretzels the size of your head. You order, play Jenga, eat and play Jenga and then go outside to make s'mores in the fire pit. Awesome.

Took a day off from work to run some errands and we found ourselves near Bordentown around 1pm. Having been there before we just parked the car and began walking around and came upon the Farnsworth House.
I must say we were pleasantly surprised at he extensive menu, with specials, as well as the 21 beers on tap.
Carol had the Chicken Barcelona along with a salad (Gorgonzola dressing - excellent) which was crisp and fresh. The chicken was stuffed with a spicy sausage and dill mixture and served with a Dijon mustard & tomato cream sauce. A serving of whole grilled asparagus finished off the plate.
I tried the Chicken Bella Bucca with a similar salad. My chicken was stuffed with prosciutto and fresh mozzarella, served over sauteed spinach in a Madeira wine sauce. Carol had a glass of red wine while I tried a Dogfish Head Palo Santo and followed that with a Green Flash IPA.
All, in all, a wonderful meal with a very attentive waiter. Definitely worth a try ... -

Not impressed. Food is basic, nothing special, not worth the money. Not with such better options in town.

This is a nice restaurant in an attractive little town. I'm not sure where its Zagat 23 comes from but the food is OK, the service is good, and the atmosphere is pleasant.
My wife had the soup and a salad. The soup was chicken ditalini and quite tasty. The salad was a mixed green salad with a big chunk of grilled salmon. I had the Chicken Bella Bucca which was a prosciutto and mozzerala stuffed breast over spinach with a brown sauce and a bowl of the Stracciatella Florentina. Both were good but really nothing die for.
The wine list is reasonably priced with a nice and varied selection. The menu is primarily Italian with a tornado Rossini that intrigued me but not enough to order it for lunch.
I'm sure I'll sample some of the other restaurants on Farnsworth Street before I come back but if you have to go there its no hardship. -

When I first saw the Farnsworth house, I figured that this place would be quaint. But what I didn't expect was that the food would be absolutely incredible and that it'd be such a high class dining experience. To start off, the bread was very tasty. (I think our table probably ate about 6 loafs over the course of the night.)
I ordered the Chicken Bella Bucca while some of the people I was with ordered steak and seafood. Every plate was made with care. The presentation of each entrees was very professional. I almost felt as if I was in a very formal dining establishment like French Laundry in CA or Petroleum Club in FW. The food itself was far above average. The portions were generous. By the end of the night, I think everyone's plate was spotless. Everyone left full and satisfied. The only downside was that by time you add an appetizer (highly recommended ) and a tip, you are looking at a $50 meal. While that isn't much more than what I'm used to in CA, it might be steep to take an entire family out to dinner.
Bottom line? If you have a choice between some lame chain restaurant or the Farnsworth House, go with the Farnsworth House. It might cost a little more than some ready-made Olive Garden but it won't disappoint. The place is definitely worth the extra couple of bucks. -

Comfortable surroundings, descent prices and a nice bar. Especially good steaks, chops and seafood. Had the Veal Marsala there recently and it was very good. Good beer list and very good soups, also good is their Steak Au Poivre. Consistent good quality food.

Fine dining Mediterranean restaurant. Excellent food. Excellent service. Good prices and portions. Plenty of menu options with a long list of daily specials. Upstairs and downstairs seating. Bar downstairs. The complimentary garlic bread with creamy garlic dip is awesome! Definitely deserving of four stars if just for consistency, as I've never had a bad meal in all the years of eating at this establishment.

i was looking for a good restaurant to take my bf for his birthday after a weekend in Trenton.
the staff was very friendly and the service is quick.
I ordered a Chicken Marsala....thier sauce....was....orgasmic!
My boyfriend ordered a Steak Au Poivre, he devoured his plate.
we were both impressed by our experience from this restaurant and my boyfriend was content with my decision to bring him here. we live in NY and we are planning another weekend back to trenton and stop by Bordentown to have another fantasic dinner.
Since then i have been craving thier Chicken Marsala. and i cannot find anything that comes close here in NYC. -

The Farnsworth House is the only restaurant I ever visit when I'm in Bordentown, NJ. I have never been served anything but a quality meal. The service has always been first rate and the menu always has something new to try. Oh.. the portions are always plentiful.

Farnsworth House is your typical "fine dining" establishment set in a quiet, little town. I am one for frequently dining at places where the food good and consistent. Farnsworth House is one of these places, which makes the price tag on some of the dishes reasonable. However, I would not recommend some of their specials priced at the $35-50 range. I recently dined with friends at the Farnsworth House and after seeing the quality of the $35 filet mignon medallions, I just felt like it was not worth it. The meat was over cooked (they had asked for medium and got well done) and quality of the beef was just average. They seemed to have a couple issues with overcooking the food that night, as our calamari come out overcooked as well. The saving grace of the meal was their tomato blush sauce, it was delicious. After frequenting the restaurant, I have found that their Italian sauces are excellent. Overall, its a great establishment its just not the best steak place I have been to in the area.
