Good burgers served on tasty rolls with pastrami, bacon, or a variety of other ways. Fries and o-rings are good, but eat them there since they don't stay crunchy in the bag.

Hey this place is great and is truly not given enough credit. Being so close to Sac State I'm surprised more students don't come here after school to pick a great burger. Forget all the burgers you eat at chains because this place blows them out of the water. They have selections for a variety of different burgers, some they have already personalized or you can always go old fashioned with a plain cheeseburger or hamburger ether way you cannot lose. The service is more than friendly and the food is fresh and great. For all you burger lovers looking for another great Burger joint besides Squeeze-In definitely check this place out. You'll be surprised why this place isn't already "Famous"as much as it should be recognized.

I like this place a lot; however, I have to stay away from the food that builds up my gut in a horrible way. The location is good; however, sorta difficult to spot, being its on the corner of a very busy intersection. The food is very good for the price and portions. They have a good selection of burgers and what not, so give it a try. Also, a selection of combos to make things a little cheaper. The burgers are decently sized, and taste really good ( I could eat two when i'm VERY hungry). The fries is on par with a lot of un-franchised  burgers place, they are okay. The service is order and grab, they do not serve you. The clerks were pleasant. The ambiance was like a burger place, you just eat and go. Some things that I didn't like were the tables, they are weren't that clean...(eww Gum+used Napkins). Also, the tables and chairs weren't that great...kinda chintzy (I love that word)....

I My overall experience
This place is worth trying out.

Pros:
I'm actually craving this place as I type this...hahahah
Good/Tasty food
Price/Portion
The grill is in a visible location (I like that a lot)

Cons:
Parking in the front
Sorta of a con (No 'One Card' Discount like all the other place around there)
Dirty Tables

Neutral:
Decor could be better
Sometimes food can be too greasy.. (Normal depending on food)

Notes:
Traffic can be very horrific at this intersection
Watch for pedestrians.

3.75 Stars more so...but gets a 4 =)

So, as my co-workers and I were discussing lunch destinations, there was mention of Famous Burger.  After having a meal there, I can not say that I am dissappointed.

The thing that I like the most about the place is that on the "Famous Burger" they add pastrami!  Yes, Pastrami!  Who can not like a burger with an additional meat?  If Pastrami is not your thing feel free to add any number of items they have listed, including but not limited to bacon and avocado.

One of the cool aspects of this place is that there is a large window in the dining area that gives the customer a view of the staff making/creating your order right before your eyes.

Above all, the person taking orders, was extra nice and helpful.  A nice bonus to an already good meal.

I was driving by this restaurant and after reading the great reviews on yelp for this joint, I decided to stop by. I was going to go to squeeze inn, but when I passed by the line was out the door and down the stairs. Who wants to wait for an hour for a burger.

The first impression I got was that the place was very bare. No personality really. Just very plain vanilla. Their menu was pretty typical for a hamburger place. Nothing out of the ordinary. I was hungry so I ordered the half pounder with pastrami, an order of onion rings and a small drink which came out to around $11. Pretty steep for a burger, but I thought if the burger was good, then it would be worth it. They weren't that busy but it did take around 7-8 minutes for my food to come out. But I wasn't in a hurry so it was bearable.

When my food finally came out, I dug into the onion rings first. They were your typical run of the mill onion rings that almost every restaurant orders from a distributor. Nothing homemade on the rings. But they were ok. The burger was a good sized wide patty with some very lean pastrami. Now, my parents' used to own a burger/sandwich joint so I think I've been a little spoiled. They used to use pastrami that was a little fatty so you had some nice flavor. I think that if it's too lean, it's too dry and too bland. Their pastrami was definitely on the lean side. The hamburger patty was cooked very well done (they don't ask you how you want your burger cooked).  I thought it was overcooked. I had to get like 5 refills because it was so dry.  I will have to give it one more try before I write this place off, the steak sandwich sounded good.

They are definitely in a hard to get to location so plan on some u turns. I always give most restaurants two tries before I write them off, so I'll give them one more try. The steak sandwich looked interesting...

Service was great though so instead of 2 stars I'll give them 3. The staff are pretty friendly.

It get's an extra star because I am pregnant and hormonal and I don't want to be needlessly harsh.........

I really loved my burger. I think it was a great value and they are huge and the buns are nice and the "stuff" they put on it seems fresh and yummy.

I did not like their "special sauce" that is the default on all burgers and I did not like the shredded lettuce mixed in with that. Now, again, I'm pregnant and touchy and hormonal and my stomach is doing weird things to me so maybe I'll like it when this kid gets out, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Aside from the sauce/lettuce situation, I would say this is one of the better burgers joints in town. Yummy, solid burgers and fries.

Excellent food, excellent service, nice people, and reasonable prices, what more can you ask for ?  Famous Burger, is located right next to a little market and a Subway, near Sac State. My friends and I go there all the time and order, 1 famous burger w/ fries, 1 turkey burger w/ cris-cuts, and 1 garden burger w/ onion rings. I recommend all of it! Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

It may have an awkward location, but this place features some seriously awesome burgers and turkey burgers.

Made with fresh, delicious buns, these are classic and outsized burgers. The "Famous Burger" itself features pastrami along with the standard beef and cheese, but my personal favorite is the turkey burger. I'm not sure how they do it, but these folks get the bird tasting as good, if not better, then beef. Add a topping of gently mashed avocado and you've got a delicious (and huge) sandwich. The fries are good too - crispy, slightly meaty, and salted to perfection.

The interior is clean and serviceable, if not stylish -but that's not what you're here for anyway. Sit down and enjoy.
