I always order pizza from this place, the pizza is great and resonable price. I like the way that they made by the order and use fresh ingrdient. delivery service was fast even i live several miles away.
Yesterday, Me and my husband passed this place we want to order something to go but when I see the place we changed mind to dine in.The place very clean nice and warm. we ordered Xtra large hand tossed Pototo pizza and spaghetti Arrabiata. Everything was excellent, service was nice and polite.
Everytime I order from here I always sure they do care about thier food and I will get the good food. I love this place and highly recommend to everyone.
YAY! A great delivery place! I was wonderfully surprised when my order came 20 minutes early and it was delicious and HOT.
I can't tell how many times I have gotten lukewarm pizza. It came and we dove right in and it was delicious! It wasn't like you know the best pizza in the whole world, but they make a decent pizza:)
We ordered a large regular pizza and added pineapple and bacon. The bacon is totally the way to go it was so fresh and delicious. Also their pizza is very cheesy which sometimes you can find lacking in a thin pizza.
I'm totally putting this on my takeout rotation AND its TOTALLY CHEAP. So worth it. Very pleasantly surprised is my reaction.
2nd time: Totally reinforces my first review... the delivery was EARLY EVEN on Super Bowl Sunday and it was warm and delicious. Their sausage is goooood.
Eating in was very nice, hand-tossed All-In pizza was had and enjoyed by all. Service was nice, prices were reasonable. This place is Bulgarian or Russian mixed with Italian, so you get stuff like Potato Pizza and Russian Soup on the menu. They are BYOB.
I got the same pizza take-out a week or so later, and unfortunately it was thin crust even though I asked for hand-tossed, but the flavors were good.
I'm giving this 4 stars for now, as I think they have potential, and they are much tastier than Godfathers already. I'll update this once I go back a couple more times.
A nice additional to the hood...good solid food for the price. Nice to have a take out place so close for pasta and pizza. Great place for kids to eat and adults since you can bring your own booze. Owner and wife are a nice couple. We eat there at least once a week.
Oh my....almost got physically ill from eating the pizza...we ordered a large and ate one piece...we never left so much pizza in our lives!! In the middle of the night...i could feel the pizza sauce coming up....my god it was the most horrible pizza I have ever eaten. I am now afraid of trying new things. Stay away-far away
Solid new pizza place in the neighborhood. Their pizza's are decent - my wife really digs the chicken bacon ranch, which reminds her of a place back in college. Summing up our pizzas, none have been overly greasy and the toppings and cheese always seem fresh. Our only complaint is that the crust is not always evenly cooked, especially on x-large pizzas.
We have never eaten there and I don't think many others have either. The place has a family pizza joint feel, but is dimly lit and constantly empty. FaMe is BYOB and Rayan's is only 1 block away at Wilson and Clark. However if we are going to sit for pizza I would rather visit Fontana Grill, take the EL to Landmark or make the trek to Spacca Napoli.
That being said, because of proximity I'm sure we will keep FaMe in our carryout pizza rotation (along with my personal carryout favorite Villa May.)
I was really excited when this restaurant finally opened up. But disappointed with the overall outcome of my first experience.
My boyfriend and I went on a Thusday night. There was only one other table with poeple so obviously getting a seat was no problem. There seemed to be only 2 people working behind the counter. We sat down and got our menus a few min later along with water. We decided on what to get ( I got the Waikiki Pizza and my b/f decided on the chicken alfredo. We also ordered the garlic bread as an appetizer) and waited for about 10 min before one of the guys finally wandered over and took our orders.
My b/f got his pasta w/in 5 min and his coke (which mind you had NO ice in it! Just weird!). Ummm....where was our garlic bread? Isn't that why it is called an appetizer? The waiter (or cook/deliver person) did apologize for not having the bread yet and said it would be right up. My b/f said the pasta was a little dry and had very little taste. I did confirm that after I tasted a bite. Another 10 min later out came the bread. I have to say it was good with fresh garlic on the bread....not your cheap "garlic salted" bread. Then about 5 min after that my pizza came. It was tasty, but it said there was supposed to have green pepper in it and I found maybe a small bit. It was mostly pineapple and ham. I would have said something, but i was so hungry and the people behind the counter were nowhere to be found. So i just ate it and it was good i thought.
When we were done the waiter did get our plates in a timely fashion, and did get our check, but then we waited, and waited for him to pick it up with our payment. After almost 15 min (mind you there is still only one other table occupied) my b/f actually went up to the counter to track him down and ask him to run the c/c. I'm sorry but an hour and a half in a pizza restaurant is crazy!
Given all that, I will give them another try. I know they are just starting out and not everything will be perfect when a restaurant has just opened. So on that note I will order from there again...just as take-out!
From what I have read Fame da Lupo roughly translates to : Hunger of the Wolf.
This is based on a pick up order (that I did not pick up) so I cannot review the interior or the service. I can, however, say that our quoted time for pick up was twenty minutes on a Friday night and it was ready just in time when we went to get it. The service on the phone was very polite and helpful.
Okay - we live in Chicago and there are a BILLION pizza places to choose from on every other corner. I think if you are going to open a new pizza place in the city then you had better have an original or super tasty pie. FaMe was just meh and I have most definitely experienced much, much better. My husband found it comparable to Domino's. It was edible and I didn't think it was gross or anything but it was absolutely nothing special and sadly not something that I would go back for again.
Besides pizza they offer apps like chicken tenders and fried zucchini, a good selection of salads, a few sandwiches and about 8 pasta dishes. I will certainly give them a shot since I live so close by but I am not holding my breath.
Last but not least there are tons of spelling errors on their website and that just bugs me! If you are going to have a website take the time to spell check!
After a night of Carol's Pub debauchery FaMe will no doubt be a great way to fill a drunk belly, until then I plan on passing.
We're always on the lookout for new restaurants, so when FaMe da Lupo finally opened we were excited to give it a try. Maybe they're still working the kinks out of the menu. Or maybe it was the fact that we ordered one of the more non-traditional pizzas. Who knows? Whatever it was, we won't be coming back soon.
Clark loves anything with BBQ sauce, so we ordered (free delivery coupon on website) a BBQ chicken pizza and decided to balance it out with the house salad. The delivery was pretty prompt (20 minutes around dinner time on a Wednesday night) and the bill was less than $20, which were both wonderful things. Our food, unfortunately, was less than wonderful.
The house salad, which included a nice mix of leafy spinach, lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers, was topped with a house Italian dressing. For the most part the salad was good (the dressing was great), but the random overly squishy, not too fresh lettuce ruined several bites.
The pizza started out promising; the first thing Clark said when he opened the box was, "they cut it pie-style -- that's ok in my book." The taste and crust, however, left something to be desired. My thought was, "this tastes strange," then Clark said, "does this smell like canned squid?" Seriously, though, not enough sauce, dry chicken, and not enough crisp in the crust. I love pizza and I maybe finished half a slice.
But as we said in the beginning, maybe our experience would have been different if we tried this place a few months down the road or if we tried a nice traditional pizza. We'll give these guys some time to get into the groove.
We too had been waiting for FaMe da Lupo to open, and now that its open, we love having a comfortable, BYOB joint a block from the house.
Monday night, my husband and I stopped in around 8:00 for dinner. We were the only dine-in customers at the time, and rather than being awkward, it gave the staff the chance to chat with us. They're good people, and we are happy to have them in the neighborhood.
The space itself is very bright, and while the green and orange color scheme doesn't do anything for me, the laid back atmosphere encourages me to hang out with a bottle of wine. Bathrooms, as well as everything else, were clean.
As an appetizer, we had the sauteed mushrooms which, after we had mentioned being vegetarian, the owner came out to ask if we preferred olive oil to the butter. We like butter, and the mushrooms did not disappoint. They did, however, come seasoned with fresh dill which was unexpected, but ended up being quite tasty.
I ordered the hand-tossed 10" garlic, dill and potato pizza and he ordered the pesto pasta. Both were tasty, but the pesto was a bit soupier than I am used to. Rather than dampen the experience, it gave us a dipping sauce for the pizza.
I appreciated the use of fresh ingredients, and overall really liked my meal. I would like to mention that the pizza is not like standard, non-deep-dish pizza that I have had elsewhere. This could be because I had a non-traditional pizza, but I am thinking (based on other people's reviews) that they aren't trying to make pizza like everyone else. And I think that's a good thing.
I will be back soon to try more menu items and relax over a bottle of wine!
NB: They have all sorts of coupons on their website.
Went here the other night for a birthday party, and the pizza was delicious. I also had the calamari and muscles. Everything was very tasty. The service was also very helpful and polite. This place is a little hidden, but makes for a great late night option after Carol's. It's also BYOB, and we took full advantage of this!
I have only had the pizza delivered and I must say that I enjoy it very much. It seems like they use real mozzarella cheese. I am going to make a point to try dining in next.
We've been walking the dog past this place for a while waiting for it to open, and this morning when we walked by and saw the "we're open!" sign, we went home and ordered a pizza for lunch. And it was pretty darn good - good crust, good sauce, good cheese, fresh mushrooms. The two of us polished off the 14" pretty quickly. They were very friendly on the phone and the pizza came quickly. A great addition to the neighborhood!
