Again, I feel this course was a little overpriced. I say "again" because I was fortunate enough to get another round of golf in a 4 day trip. This, being the second course of the two, left a little to be desired.
At $67 for the round, I felt it was overpriced by a good $10-$15. At $50, this course would've been fantastic. The pace of play was ok, but the course seemed like it needed a little yardwork. The first cut was a little too deep, IMO, and I know that sometimes it should be like that, but, this course was very inconsistent, which led me to believe that it wasn't maintained too well.
I'd definitely say this place was a local spot since the majority of people playing were walking. I would never go out of my way to play here again, but I'm glad I was able to experience it. If I'm ever in town visiting family again, I'd prefer to play elsewhere since there are a ton of courses in the area, but if I lived there, I might consider this place again.
Another one of Montgomery County Golf's fine achievements.
A public course in Potomac, which has the look and feel of a country club. And this is even more surprising when you realize they get about 35,000 rounds a year, which is an astonishing number.
It's a bit pricey for muni golf - $80 to ride on the weekends and $60 during the week. Sometimes the going can be slow. There are some days when it seems like all of Montgomery County is there - so if you can do it during the week -that might be a better option.
