I lived here for four years. I remember that the rent was cheap and this place was close to the metro station. Great place if you have pets. It's a slightly older building  (by slightly I mean older than dirt), and you need to keep paper copies of all correspondence. The rental company keeps auditing their records and claims there are months were the rent was not paid and you have to prove it was over and over again. Parking is restrictive, and they do tow.

A guy got fatally shot on my doorstep in 2002, that was the last and only crime thus far with a few robberies. This place does have its aspect of shadiness.

I honestly wish that I had never moved into this apartment complex.  I've been here since October.  FC has repeatedly charged me late fees when I haven't paid rent late (I pay online. on time.).  Even though the propert mgr agreed to take these fees off my account, I have twice been served a summons by the sheriff's department twice now, threatening eviction if I don't pay.  The staff member I have dealt with has been rude to the point of making me cry.  The location may be convenient, but it's just not worth it.   Plus, doing laundry takes forever because you have to walk like five buildings away to do laundry AND the only place to add money to your card is over near the office in this weird outdoor machine, which is over a block away.

This place is one of the only affordable apartment complexes in Silver Spring that allows dogs.  I lived here from May 2005 - May 2006, mainly because my roommate had a weiner dog and I was trying to get residency for the University of Maryland.

While I absolutely loathed living in Silver Spring (sorry, I missed the city too much) Falkland Chase was a pretty good deal.  I had a first floor two bedroom in a four-plex, which was nice except I could hear my upstairs neighbor's footsteps.  There was communal laundry facilities, which sucked.  At least there was never a line!

Falkland Chase is an incredibly short walk to the metro, depending on which unit you live in.  There is a Rite-Aid, Einstein Bagels, Starbucks, Giant, CVS, and numerous restaurants very close by.

This is not luxury apartment living, but if you are just looking to pay cheap rent for a place that is not falling down, is clean, and has decent landlords, Falkland Chase is a good bet.
