I'm a Cal State Northridge student, so naturally I am always looking for a good place to eat thats close to campus.  I pass by this restaurant on my way home from school everyday, and I figured that since I am a big fan of Greek food that I would try it out.

The exterior doesn't seem that appetizing, but believe me--this place is a true hole in the wall.  On the outside, they advertise their "Lamb and Chicken Gyros for $4.95."

When I went, I had the Chicken Gyro Combo and it was delicious.  The combo meal is definitely the best bargain (around $8) because they give you a HUGE heaping plate of french fries (that you can tell were not frozen!).  The food was cooked fresh and it was really delicious.  I would DEFINITELY go back to this place again.  My only regret was that I didn't have time to try the baklava...

*Tip: If you like that white yogurt sauce on your gyro, make sure to ask for it.  The gyros don't already come with it, like some places do.  Also, come on an empty stomach*

I saw all of the sides behind the glass counter and I wanted to try them all, so the vegetarian platter made the most sense! The small vegetarian platter came with 3 falafels and at least 7 different sides. There were about 3 different types of eggplant, hummus, salad, tabouli, and other stuff I just ate.

Falafels were freaking awesome, even when they were cold, they were still very tasty. The pita was also very fresh and soft. Looks like the place is stuck in the 80s, but who cares? I'm there for the food!

Alright homeboys and flygirls,

I'm gonna be honest, I've only been here 2 times. Both times I got the chicken shawarma w/avocado combo. Which just comes w/ fries or rice and a drink for under $10. It was a ton of food but um... would you look at me differently if I told you I finished all of it? Because I did.
It was yummy. It was grilled chicken w/lettuce, tomato & avocado all wrapped up in a pita. mmmm. *reminisces*

It's a pretty chill spot, nothing fancy. They have a patio if you want to take your lunch outside. You know how L.A. has proper weather (most of the time) Definitely a mom n pop type of atmosphere.

I think my fav part is that they give you a punch card for every time you go, kind of like at the hello kitty stores, you fill up a stamp card and get a free prize. In this case, it's a free gyro!

I'll most def. be coming back.

Your Homegirl,
Violy

of all the Greek/Mediteranean food i've had, i've known it to be very fresh, lively, and full of flavor.  that's the reason i wanted to stop by here, because that's what i was expecting.

i ordered the Chicken Gyro with Hummus combo.  some say the chicken is dry, but given that it seemed to be white meat and considering the way it was cooked, yes it would be dry.  the fries tasted like whatever else the fried in the oil.  basically, the one word that popped into my head as i was eating, was 'bland'.  usually i can taste a good amount of garlic in most hummus i've tried, but the flavor of the stinking rose here was very little, if any.

i'm gonna go with 2 stars because "Meh.  I've experienced better."  to be more specific, i've experienced better about a block away in the Vons shopping center.  all in all, not bad food.  it'll certainly fill you up, but i wasn't quite satisfied.

Holy falafel!! I've been searching for an awesome and convenient falafel joint since I got back from Virginia and today I have found it! I've passed by this little restaurant numerous times on my way to and from class, but I felt sure that it wouldn't have anything veg-friendly seeing as how the signs out from read "LAMB AND CHICKEN GYROS" and "THE FAMOUS THREE MEAT FALAFEL". Today, however, I was majorly craving a falafel with all the fixin's so I stopped in with hope and cash in hand.

Despite the artery-hardening propaganda outside, there's a lot more to Falafel Palace than three different animals inside a pita. Not only does this place have several veg options, but it also stresses healthy cooking, cook to order, and use fresh veggies chopped practically right before your eyes (at least if you get there early like I did). I chose the hummus falafel with avocado and tahini sauce (dairy-free, I might add). I almost asked for fries but boy am I glad I didn't because that sucker was enormous! Totally worth the $8. I finished the whole thing with gusto, but I was left in a happy falafel coma after wards. Eat one of those and you'll be full for 5-6 hours, seriously. I'm still full and only now am I able to think clearly enough to plot the next time I can pop into the Palace.

I love Mediterrenean food like no other so when I first moved to Northridge I needed to find a spot badly.  Falafel Palace was the first place I stuck with for awhile.

You have to love the effort at Falafel Palance.  The quality of food is good and the service is friendly.  Unfortunately everytime I was in there no one spoke any English.  I always ordered the same thing but got a cornicopia of different dishes every time.  Sometimes I would get a tray with what I ordered plus extra and sometimes there was nothing I ordered on the plate.

The good news is that almost everything they have is tasty and the lack of effective communication forces you to try new things but sometimes when you want a gyro and falafel you want your damn gyro and falafel.

I want to stress that the service is actually really good aside from the fact that no one understood the words coming out of my mouth.  Everyone is friendly.  The manager knew that no one had a clue what I was talking about and felt bad so he used to point at stuff and if I wanted a sample he would hook me and my friends up with a small dish for free.  He would give us dessert on the house a lot too.  The bakalava is delicious so I looked at it as a good deal.

If you're ever in the mood for Mediterrenean but don't have anything in particular in mind this would be a great place to please your palate.  There is no telling what you might get but it will probably be good and it will definitley be a lot of food.

Enjoy the adventure!

Reason I go here: location. I'd rather trek a bit further away to Pita Pockets HOWEVER this place has amazing desserts that make you say, "More please."

Falafel here is good, and I love the pickle bar. It's essentially why I go here over other nearby pita places.

Oh, I admit it. I really love this place. I come often, at least once every other week. I've tried many of their dishes, whch are all delicious but my favorite remains the falafel pita sandwich with hummus and eggplant. Even my friends who aren't big fans of eggplant can't help but love their marinated eggplant. Very friendly staff too. I'm having a bday this year and all my food is going to be catered with them. Prices EXTREMEMLY reasonable for the great food you get.

This place's outside appearance is so modest, it's easy to overlook it.  Located at the southwest corner of Prairie and Roscoe, almost in sight of CSUN, it's a place I've long promised myself that I would stop at when I got off work from my gig at Northridge Hospital.  Inside, it's very clean, and the service is friendly and attentive.  Rather than cooking dinner last night, I took home beef and chicken shawarma pitas, along with two spinach borekas.  They were so filling that they served as two meals for two of us.  What a value for a competitive price (fast food places don't really compare!).  I will definitely patronize this place again in the near future.

Friendly staff, offered me a falafel to try on my first time. Not a big fan of falafel, but this was pretty tasty.

Atmosphere is kind of hole in the wall-ish, but it kind of adds to the charm. The prices were decent, especially for what I got: A Lamb-chicken-beef gyro: which was probably one of the best I've ever had.

Good taste, good deal.

I should have Yelped this place before visiting!  Though, I suppose sometimes a virgin review is helpful too!   I partially blame myself -- what else do you order at Falafel Palace than falafel?  I was in the mood for meat so I ordered the shawarma plate and it was awful!  The meat was super dry and primarily turkey -- turkey?   The hummus was awful and tasted days old and the tabouli so dry I could barely swallow it!

I'm not totally opposed to returning but next time I'll definitely stick with the falafel!

Believe it or not, until I came here, I never had falafel before.  My girlfriend shared the falafel plate and one of the specials with mixed meats, for a varied experience.  We mixed up the falafel and meats with the sauces, and it was very good.  The rice seemed like half-hearted Spanish rice to me, but the salad and pickle bar were pretty good.

I give Falafel Palace 4 Stars.  The food is good, not too expensive, and although it wasn't a mind-blowing experience, I'll definitely go back.

I stopped in here last Saturday because I was craving some good, homemade falafel... and it was EXCELLENT.  Probably the best falafel I have ever had.  It was crispy and excellently spiced, yet delicate and soft on the inside.  I totally had one in my mouth.

I had the hummus and cheese falafel pita... it was huge!  The hummus was tangy and thick, with just the perfect amount of garlic.  They give you a squeeze bottle of tahini (which I loved) to drench your falafel in, if you are so inclined.

I fell in love, and I can't wait for my next trip back.  I am not sure if I'll try their famous tarna or gyros next, but only because the falafel is seriously that craveable.  MMM MMM MMM!

This place was actually my introduction to falafel. I never had it until I saw it on the Food Network a week before. The ingredients that they showed seemed uninteresting to me. But it just seemed that so many people were in love with it. So i decided to give it a shot.

The place is conveniently located to my former college I went there after my classes were done. The decor inside is just your run of the mill family owned business. Nothing really fancy going on here.

I told the lady working that I had no clue what falafel tasted like. She was nice enough to let me try a piece with hummus.

I still remember that moment...

It was definitely something very new. The flavor that my tongue was processing crazy. It's was like as if my tongue was talking to me. "Dan! What the hell is this???? It's good though! Get me more of it!"

OK I might be exaggerating a little bit, but it certainly was delicious. I got that with some pita bread, hummus and other things that they gave me. It's certainly a place I stop by all the time!

I'm not a huge fan of this kind of food to begin with, so that surely colors my review, but I've had better shawarma at Carnival Restaurant over in Sherman Oaks.  This was respectable, but nothing I'd go out of my way for.

I freakin' LOVE this place. I guess I came so many times the people there recognized me. Yay for their stamp card to get a free gyro~ Their lamb gyro lunch special is great for its taste and price. The lamb is cooked just right for that smoky flavor and the gyro is huuge. I love their rice and tangy yogurt(?) sauce. If you don't want rice, the other options are fries or a salad. And a drink is included. All for like $8.

The falafel is DELICIOUS. Crisp and just the right savory flavor. They stuff the pita breads until it BURSTS. The man behind the counter would give my friends and me some falafel samples with taboule on top. I want to try their baked spinach pastry someday.

And they play Jersey Boys/Franki Valli & the Four Seasons music all the time! Nice.

The people here are extremely nice. They offer free samples.
I enjoyed the food, especially the falafel, but the gyros was a little too greasy for me.
I like this place overall, but not one of my favorite. Isn't it too pricy for a casual place (or is it just I'm too broke)?
Instead of spending $8 here I'd probably rather go to Chipotle and get the enormous $6 burrito.

I first came here during my freshman year at CSUN and I always keep coming back. The workers there are extremely nice and once in a while, they would give me a sample falafel to try and let me tell you, they are GOOD! I also recommend the Gyro Value Meal, and a side of tabouli. They also have a really cool dessert called Halva which they sell for $1.50 each.

The Falafel Palace is a name that conjures up images of vast buttresses crafted of spiced lamb, but alas the restaurant doesn't quite live up to those images, but the food is really tasty. I can't say enough good things about this place. Not only are the falafel and baklava delicious, but the staff is courteous and serves up food that not only tastes fresh, but is different than all the restaurants surrounding it. Filling that niche for when the palate is just craving delicious spiced mediterranean flavors.

The one blemish on Falafel Palace's record is the poorly lit, seedy truck stop style bathroom behind the restaurant. But on the plus side they offer large portions and a punch card that gives you your 10th Falafel for free. So if you're in the area a lot and you dig the Greek Food, make a trip to the Falafel Palace.

I discovered this place when I briefly lived in Reseda, enjoyed it often when I was at CSUN, and still don't consider it out of the way for awesome eastern Mediterranean nummys.

The worst I can say is they tend to go a little nuts with the lettuce, but not at the expense of the meat quantities.  A large menu.  Awesome gyros, falafel, and shawarma.  Fresh and delicious tabbouli and hummus.  A variety of baklava.

$5-$10 per person.  Don't waste precious tummy real estate on fries, get another gyro!  4 stars.

Good food, good value. Convenient location. The air conditioning could be better though. Having both restaurant doors open at all times can make the restaurant a bit noisy. 5 stars for being mom & pop and being unique. Not too many greek restaurants around here although Northridge & Reseda do have a strong greek community.

My co-workers and I go here at least once a week. This place has been around a long time. And for good reasons. Their gyros and falafels are to die for. The service is great and the people are friendly. It is not uncommon to be greated with a smile and a fresh falafel ball to eat while you decide on the menu. The restauarant is family owned and operated. By the way, did I mention that you can't go wrong with anything on the menu?

I don't know about everything on the menu but I can tell you about what I have had. The lamb gyro is awesome (I use *lots* of sauce and it makes me *very* happy), and their falafel has also rocked the times I have tried it. They have a couple of dips that  are divine but I would have to get back to you with what they were. Also get some baklava with extra syrup; when it's good and syrupy the interior is devine otherwise it's a bit dry for my liking.

Always consistently good--good gyros and good falafel, but I tend to like the shwarma best--very tasty and reasonable, and plenty of extras to go in the pita with the meat.  The help is kind of unfriendly sometimes, but not discourteous.  Lots of pickled goodies are available at a salad bar to add to your sandwich or go along side.

Woo doggy! Falafels, falafels, gyros? That's right, delicious, succulant lamb gyros some of the best possibly in the world. When I was travelling through Europe, let me tell you, I ate a lot of shwarma, gyros, and falafel. Falafel Palace beat them all! First, let me get the fact that indeed their falafels are delicious out of the way. The vegetarian plate that comes with their various dips, salad, falafel, and pita is divine. However, it's always a tough decision to veer from the lamb gyros. It could be the way they cut the nicely seasoned meat off the big spinny slab and throw it right onto a seasoned grill to give that little extra bit of steaming hot char, or that they grill the veggies with the meat, or the pillow-like pita they use, or the incredible home-made cucumber sauce, but it just rocks my world. And overall, maybe it's that every time we loyal patrons enter the establishment we are handed one steaming hot falafel for snacking while our food is being freshly assembled, or that the service is friendly and prompt, or that their baklavah (I like the walnut) is just as delicious as everything else there, and though I'm always full, I always insist upon getting a piece. Come to think of it, it's probably all of these things and more that makes every experience coming to the Palace incredibly enjoyable and filling. *drools* mmmdiiiineeeer
