We tried this place out mainly because the bright yellow awnings caught my eye driving up Rte. 29. Thought maybe it was a hole in the wall. But no! I was surprised to walk into a large, colorful dining room that was JAM-packed on a Friday night with families, couples, a group or two of teenagers. Not a romantic date spot, but fun to bring the kids or a group. Our burrito and soft taco were very good; some of the better Mexican food I've had around here (and believe me, I am a picky, annoying person to bring to a Mexican restaurant...). My pina colada was a little light on the rum, but I'd go back anyway if I were in the neighborhood. The owner used to manage Cactus Cantina and Lauriol Plaza down in DC, so I guess he knows what he's doing!

Amicable and attentive wait service, meat and fish always grilled spot-on, an ever-changing specials menu--what more could you want? I just wish there was more fish than just salmon on the Coast's menu and freshly made fajita shells wouldn't hurt its namesake either. Regardless, Fajita Coast is one of the best tex-mex restaurants in Silver Spring.
