2 reviews for Fairfield Inn by Marriott
When they named it "Palm Desert," they really mean the "desert" part. Holy Jebus, it's hot! On a July night, around 10pm, it's still over 90 degrees.
For the most-part with Fairfield you know what you're getting, but not all are created equal. This one was a little stingy with the breakfast area; some locations are more lax and leave the snacks out around-the-clock, while this one closed up shop promptly. There's really nothing wrong with this location: it was clean and safe. Basically, a place to crash for the evening.
Decent, free parking on-site and suburban malls galore within walking distance.
But, holy crap, it's hot.

All of the rooms have balconies. If you get one on the lobby side of the hotel, you have a view of the mountains. The air conditioner will turn off if you open the sliding door. Every floor has a ice machine but you don't really hear it. Your AAA discount will be around $10 instead of $4 if you reserve online instead of just walking in without one.
