Unfortunately, I drive around here all the time, and they are now closed.  I dont know where they went and if they reopened somewhere else but I hope they did.  If anyone knows anything, please keep me updated.

Deep inside Miami, away from the trendy, lively, exercise-loving SoBe, there's this skateshop that is upscale amidst the tacky (but cool in a comical way) looking shopping strip mall that is most recognizable for its Superman-like looks thanks to Supermattress. Believe me, it won't make sense just reading this - you have to see it for yourself to understand.

Anyways, after looking for a mattress to buy (which I haven't yet to date), I saw this skateshop (and mind you, I'm not even a skater) and thought to myself "Now, now... how many skate shops am I ever going to see in Miami?" That question was enough for me to want to venture inside to see what lurks in these weird but colorful Miami "woods" (it is next to a wood flooring store anyways).

When I went inside, I was surprised. Yes, I know, there's skateboards all over the wall. Yes, they sell clothes, little wheels, and the whole works in different variety. Yes, it is upscale looking, in an acceptable skater-standard way. Yes, the prices for the clothes were a little above your normal Wal-Mart milled clothes. I was surprised that even though this store has been in business for at least 3 years, the folks inside the store are as shy as they can be! But they're friendly and are willing to help you with anything should you approach to them. Hell, I got the complete store information just by asking "do you have a business card?" even though they really didn't have one!

Anyways. Point? If you're in Miami, loves skateboarding, this store has everything to meet your needs or desires, especially if you want to "pimp" up your skateboards!

I personally am grateful for this store for adding an eclectic mix to our retail scene - in a local, homegrown manner that also doesn't skimp on quality.

For the curious: F.S.B.S. stands for For Skaters, by Skaters.
