Inexpensive, educational entertainment for your elementary school aged kids. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Everything is hands on. I worked up enough courage to 'pet' a giant hissing cockroach and hold a "walking stick" bug. My 9 year old and I go every couple of months, when they change the exhibits. Since he has a fairly short attention span, we last about an hour and a half. If you go this month, you will have enough time to drive to Dixon (only 7 miles away) and visit the world's largest corn maze !

Not too impressive, but not much to do here in Davis in terms of museums. I suggest heading to Sac for the Discovery museum if you have time.
