I make it a point to see what's new at the Exit Art Galleries every time I'm on Longboat Key. There are two shops on the Key, one is in the Charter House complex at 201 Gulf of Mexico drive (the southern end of the Key) and the other, smaller shop is further north. The Charter House store is the larger of the two and has more of everything .
Exit Art is full of exciting clothing, accessories, jewellry and house ware/gift items. There is a clean, graphic look to everything, including the clothing. Many of the gift items are produced by the Museum of Modern Art.
There is a real personality to all of the items in the store and the clothing has a sophisticated wow factor. They have a great selection of casual-to-fancy tops and slacks, bags, belts and shoes. I've seen some of the labels in trendy New York and Boston shops, so it was a pleasant surprise to find a place like this on Longboat Key, and yes, the prices are more big city than laid-back Florida.
