Just call and make an appointment with Kim, you won't be disappointed. I have asian hair - thick, straight, you know, asian hair. You can't do anything with it. But Kim manages to make it look awesome.
For those that are worried about hairdressers that take the liberty of lopping off a whole chunk, please rest assure, an inch is an inch and she'll cut exactly as you specify.
Price is decent as well - for base, highlights and cut. Be sure to call well in advance though as she is always booked up. Need a weekend appointment? It'll be a month, no joke. Place is a bit obscure, just look for it behind Barnes & Nobles.
Also be sure to make a pit stop at the bank beforehand, they only accept cash.

The ONLY reason I haven't given this place 5 stars is because I'd like to reserve that for something spectacular... like if someone comes up with a movie seat that you can't feel the person behind you kicking or a reverse farmer's-tan T-shirt.
So a little background. I'm and Asian guy w/ thick, straight hair. So why does that matter? Because no one knows how to handle my thick Asian hair!
No one but Kim that is...
I think I've gone through 20-30 different barbers and none of them have been satisfactory. Seriously, if you give my giant Asian head a fade on the side, in 1 week the side of my head looks like Don King made out with an electric socket. So you can understand my apprehension when I first went to this unfortunately named barber shop in lil' ol' Fremont. I mean, if the $50 cut from Visual Image didn't thrill, no way would this $11 cut satisfy.
Boy was I wrong... and I usually hate being wrong.
With little more than the instruction: "Just a trim, I'd like to be able to comb the side." Kim does her magic and within 20 minutes I'm not looking like I was attacked with an electric clipper. Yes, it is more about what I don't look like than what I do look like because let's admit something, I ain't about to win any beauty contests. But, when Kim's done, at least I feel like me.
I've been going to Excellent Hair Salon for 7 years now and I'm always satisfied. I've seen Kim for all that time and she never has given me a bad hair cut! It is always hard to get appointments with her and I always have to make an appointment at least 3 weeks in advance. I give this place a 4 stars because I've only had Kim and no one else!
