Someone had recommend that I go see this store when I am in Boston and sure enough when I was in Boston I drag my bf here. I absolutely love this place because I am panda addict and it is really hard to find ones that are cute. But when I came here it had everything from bookbags, notebook, socks and so much more. Even though the store wasn't all that big we were in here for about an hour and a half.

I was here a couple of days before valentines day and you could see all the cute gifts they had for couples. I think this would be the perfect place to pick out cute little gifts for your gf. Also, if you aren't a big fan of cartoons or Hello kitty they have plenty of accessories and oversea make up items.

My girlfriend is a Hello Kitty addict.  And when I found that there was a store that had a huge assortment of anything HK I drove her to Allston.  WOW!  She was in Hello Kitty heaven circling the store at least 3 times before taking her time to pick out her latest HK accessory.

The store is very colorful, neatly arranged and very well organized.  Most of the items in this store are Japanese imports and will not be found at your local mall (I'm guessing).  Even if you are not a huge HK fan you'll be amazed how much this little kitty has an impact on pop culture.

Anything you want it's here.  Hello Kitty: toaster, rice cooker, waffle maker, plates, toy banks, lunch boxes, bags, BIG pillows, chewing gum, pencils, pencil cases, cell phone chains, stationary, jewelery and much, much more!  Things that I didn't think could be made into anything Hello Kitty were looking you right in the face.

For a small little shop the wall are packed with anything a Hello Kitty fan could ever want/need.  Talk about overload!

Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE Hello Kitty and I LOVE cell phone charms.
When I walked into E.L.T. I died and gone to heaven.  This place is paradise!

I could stare and look at every little thing in here for hours.  Now the decision whether I buy it  is a totally different question.

Do I really need another cell phone charm on my phone??? yes....i mean nooo...
How about some HK stationary, even tho i hardly write letters. cute but "lap sap"  ( trash in chinese)

anyway, this is a awesome store. great if you are getting gifts for ppl or that special Hello Kitty fan.

I really loathe this store.  Everything about it screams barf bag and cheesy dumb broads.  My sister drags me here every once in a while....I think maybe I love her less than my other siblings for that...lol.

Back in Christmas 2002, my parents surprised my little sister and me with a ton of little Sanrio and San-X gifts. The next day, we demanded to know where they got all of this loot [knowing that it couldn't have been the Cute Shop or any of the stores in Chinatown]. They brought us to Every Little Thing in Allston that afternoon, and ever since, I've been rather fond of this store.

The store is small, but filled with lots of little gifts. My friends have aptly referred to it as the "cute store" or the "pink store". The front of the store contains some Asian beauty products [their selection of faux eyelashes are fantastic - I've acquired the perfect pair of mod, Clockwork Orange-esque eyelashes for only $3!]. They also have a growing selection of scarves, hats, and sparkly jewelry [Chanel/Juicy/Burberry/LV knock-offs galore!].

My favorite part of the store however is the Sanrio/San-X/Morning Glory selection. Their Hello Kitty items are fairly recent and plentiful. My one complaint however is that there isn't more of a variety of merchandise, in regards to the characters [Badtz Maru & My Melody, anyone??]. They have a fair portion of the wall devoted to cell phone accessories & stickers - the stickers usually range from $0.99-1.99, while the cell phone charms range anywhere from $3-10. Again, the stickers and cell phone charms are usually Sanrio/San-X/Morning Glory characters [although the occasional Disney character, i.e. Stitch, Jack Skellington, Eeyore, have appeared in the past].

The middle of the store is mostly Sanrio/San-X/Morning Glory school/office supplies: notebooks, pens/pencils, pencil cases, organizers. Many of these items feature Engrish gems. For less than $2, you too can own a notebook with an Engrish phrase emblazoned across its cover. The prices of these products are probably the cheapest you'll find in the area, considering that ELT is the only supplier with the best variety of items, now that both Kam Man Marketplace and Chinatown are lacking in gift shops.

Near the register, there is a fair selection of origami paper and star paper, some cute plastic hair accessories [usually featuring Hello Kitty], rings, little gift tags, Sanrio gum, and erasers. There are also some candy wands - little star-shaped lollipops on really long plastic sticks, and lots of tiny gift items, like mini-cross-stitching kits and bracelet kits. In the back of the store, they have glass vases in various novelty shapes [presumably for paper stars], umbrellas with Sanrio/San-X/MG characters on them, a small selection of stationary, kitchenware [mostly bento boxes and some plasticware], and some expensive stuffed animals.

Back when I first went to the store, they used to have a couple of print-shop photobooths [sticker photobooths] in the back of the store, which I kind of wish they still had, but considering that all of the other print-shop booths in the city are usually broken, I figured that ELT couldn't maintain the booths in that tiny store.

Also, an important note is that the store has a $10 minimum credit card limit.

Although I've come across a pretty decent amount of Sanrio-centered gift shops in both Massachusetts and New York, ELT is still on the top of the list for me. I always make a point to stop by whenever I'm in Allston, and it's a great spot to pick up small gifts for friends. It's definitely no Kitty House, but I feel that this tiny shop succeeds in capturing Sanrio's trademark slogan - "small gift, big smile".

Oh. My. I love this place.  I was biking down Harvard St. and literally braked mid-traffic to see what was inside this little store.  Wow, am I glad I did.  This place is a treasure trove of lost-in-translation amusement.  I ended up buying all my school supplies here--and had to hold back when it came to buying presents for all my friends.  The slogans on everything made each product so unique and awesome.  Some samples:

(on a notebook with a tourist shop cover)
"A walking tour: Sunshine. Wind. Kindly."

(on a notebook featuring strawberries)
"Feel refreshed...you help me through all the bad times, and watch over me like a hawk.  You are my conscience when I am lost, and always get me back on track."

(on a notebook featuring a green apple nuzzled puzzlingly on a downy-fresh pile of towels)
"I like a green apple and a warm feeling."

Is this a Korean tradition I don't know about?

Another score at this store was a notebook with Positano on the cover--this is my favorite place in Italy and in all of Europe.  The glittery cover reads "Romantic place/How you got me blind is still a mystery/I can't get you out of my head."  I think that's a pop song? It sounds strangely familiar.

Oh, and I bought another notebook which features a smiley face printed onto every object in a refrigerator:  smiley Best Foods Mayo, smiley Baby Dill Pickles, smiley Coors, and of course, Mrs. Butterworth's syrup.

What more are you waiting for, Allston hipster?!?! Get off your bike and come in!

I went in this store because it was one of the few stores I haven't gone in on this street. I thought they sold like dorm-room stuff, based on the name.

It's hard for me to recall a more awkward moment than when I entered this store. Within the first 5 seconds I simultaneously felt embarrassment, shame and a whole lot of confusion as the dozen or so early-teen girls stared at me sensing error in judgment. I had no business in this store and they all knew it. I thought about cruising right over to a display like I had purposely came in here to buy a gift for my niece or something, but quickly realized no one would buy that.
I ran out and took shelter in the familiar grounds of TruVal.
Every time I walk by this store, I blush a little bit.

Every Little Thing in Allston is about the best you could hope for in a small hello kitty themed sanrio store. They have plenty of variety and stock everything from stuffed animals to pencils to clothes! They even stock those tricky to find Chococat items (I bought an adorable green chococat apron there).

Going to ELT is always tons of fun I heartily recommend it!

I can't handle this place unless I have like 2 hours to kill.

There is SO much cute stuff here. Just shelf after shelf of adorableness. I can never decide what I want to buy because I know I don't need any of it but I MUST have something.

All your cute hard to find Asian goodies from pads of paper, to phone accessories to all the crazy Hello Kitty stuff like toasters and steering wheel covers. Totally beats the Sanrio store on Newbury street in variety.

It's a little "Hello-Kitty-on-Crack," but it's a cute addition to the Allston area.  I've never thrown down a lot of money here, but used to wander in here when I had some extra time before work.  The owners have definitely filled it from top to bottom, with notepads, pens, cell phone accessories, stickers, backpacks and cosmetics; I don't think they could fit anything else in here if they tried.  For a Secret Santa gift, I bought my cousin a bunch of the fruity face masks near the front of the store and she loved them.

After reading the reviews I expected a LOT.
If you are from NYC and you've been to places like Magic Castle (before it turned into a half clothing store) and Opane .. You're going to be very disappointed.

This place does NOT have everything. The store is very very small and the prices are ridiculous. It would be a true bargain if they actually sold their items at cheap prices like they do in NYC. Those thin small notebooks should be like .75 cents, not 1.25. That's BS.

I love looking at cell phone accessories.. Alas, they do have some here but the variety is disappointing. Its like they purposely picked out the cheap looking ones to sell.

Fun to look, fun to browse, not fun to buy.

If Hello Kitty was god and shit out her own little universe, it would look like this.

I'm not knocking ELT--in fact I think it's a cute little store. It is kind of overkill though.  Granted I'm not the biggest hello kitty fan.

I will tell you though that this place has some great surprises in store--things like gift wrap, cute costumer jewelry, and even, on occasion, pieces of furniture.

It's definitely an experience.

PS--I actually really like them b/c they have a photobooth--it's not old timey but it will do.

This is the place for cute stickers, notebooks, cell phone charms, and other Sanrio items. They even had bento boxes (unfortunately, they were for little kids. I may be juvenile, but I draw the line at Disney princesses and Thomas the Tank).

If there's a specific household item you're looking for that absolutely needs a cute little animal on it, this is the first place to look for it in Boston.

This place is amazing! Personally, I am not a Hello Kitty fan. I have to give it four stars, instead of five, because I really wish they carried more non-Sanrio. I'd love to see a local place that has San-X, Q-Lia, Kamio, Crux, etc. etc. etc.

They were reasonably priced, to my surprise. I especially loved the notebooks displaying food with smilies and fun sayings. There are also some housewares, jewelry, hats, scarves, and other fancy things.

ugh, i couldnt stand this place. its so.... annoying. and i actually thought this place was overpriced. i really needed and wanted a pencil case so i came here. i was forced into buying a pencil case with FUNNY FUNNY FUNNY written all over it. it was that or a $5 pencil case with a cartoon on it.

i left my pencil case at the post office the other day. im obsessed with my highlighters and stuff so i called to ask them to put it aside for me to pick up later. this is how the conversation went:

me: hi, i was in the post office about an hour ago and i left a black pencil case on the counter. can you check to see if its there?
guy: okay.... does it have anything written on it?
me: (VERY EMBARRASSED) um.. its black...
guy: (harshly) Does it say funny funny funny all over it?
me: uhh yeah, thats it. thanks...

thanks ELT for that wonderful experience.

If you are into all things pink and adorable then you'll adore Every Little Thing; on the other hand if you're not then you might just vomit everywhere after stepping in this tiny Harvard ave shop. I'd say it's a shop that you'll either love or hate except that I'm not at all into hello kitty or her comrades, but i can't seem to get enough of this place! I own more notebooks covered in cartoon bears eating ice cream sundaes that have clever phrases written in broken English (such as "everyone loves this fantastic taste! Did you make this really?") that I will ever know what to do with...at $1.50 a pop they're a total steal!

If you like hello kitty they have a large selection, and I'm no expert but things seem to be priced quite fairly. They also carry an awesome selection of designer knockoff jewelry and hair goods as well as over the top false eyelashes. All in all a store well worth stopping into when you have a few dollars burning a hole in your pocket!

Oh, I love ELT.  In addition to being an avid Pucca/Sanrio/etc fan, I am also a high school teacher.  Every time I find myself on Harvard Ave, I have to make a stop to stock up on all of their tremendously cute stickers so I can reward my highest-performing students with cool stickers on their tests and quizzes.  In fact, I have developed quite a reputation for having the awesomest cache of stickers in the school.  You might not think that high school students would be so motivated by the prospect of a mere sticker, but that would mean that you don't understand the degree to which ELT's stickers are cool.  And they really are cool.

I just came back from Korea thinking I had all of the best items one could buy (as far as stationary and such). Little did I know of ELT, which carried gifts I bought for my friends in Korea! Now Korea is even better, because they have stores like ELT that are 15 times the size of ELT (and in NYC Korean Stationary stores exist and are bigger), but ELT is quite fun and I will definitely be going back. They are more expensive than buying in Korea, but for price comparison look for Won amounts written on notebooks and anything Korean, because that is how they roll. 1000W = $1, and you can make the decision about the products worth it to you. If you love Konglish, please go here and enjoy what the notebooks say.
