The Everhart is a good museum in some respects.  Scranton has a place it can pay homage to it's history to, but there are areas it can improve on.

For one, The bird exhibit.  I remember how exciting this area was for me when I was a kid... it's just that it's still there and unchanged 17 years later.  It also seems like the birds haven't been cleaned or dusted during that time either.

The artwork upstairs, on the other hand is rotated rather frequently, and are usually based on seasonal themes (i.e.- Fantasy, Renaissance).  This is something the museum does rather well.

Nay Aug park also surrounds the Museum, so it coupling this with a picnic and some recreational park activities make for a fun day.  Definitely worth checking out!

The Everhart Museum is one of our areas best resources for art and natural science.  If you haven't been there...go!  If you haven't been there in years...go back!  Things are changing at the Everhart, more things to see and do for all ages; kids programs, teen programs, art openings, opportunities for community participation, and, my favorite, Everhart After Dark.  Check out our website at http://www.everhart-mu... to see what I mean.
