Neighborhood: Madison ParkJust one star off for the traffic but I love this bridge.
Also i only use it a couple times a week so traffic doesn't get me that bad.
I love it when the water is so calm on both sides in the morning,,,,I just feel that it's a special day.
I love it when the water is so rough and it splashes actually to get on to my windshield,,,,,it's exciting!!!!
The view is great. It always makes me feel good that I chose to move here from San Diego.

Three Stars:
1. For the view, although it would be great if all the eastbound morning folks would learn to pack their shades. There really shouldn't be glare related back-ups TARDS.
2. That part where it floats is super cool and can be very exciting in high winds.
3. This one is really for me and the stroke of genius I had when I had to take it everyday. Commuter Bowl. Never leaves the car. The right tunes and a phone - sitting in traffic for 90 minutes that should be 15, not so bad.

I hope I don't ever die on this thing. I'd hate that. I'd hate it a lot.
I don't drive on this much, but when I do it's crazy fun!
I see you got to have 3 people to use the carpool lane? I don't even know 3 people. That's stupid for me.
I hope I never die on this thing.

I hate this bridge but I would be screwed without it.
I was stuck here once when they opened the span to let a barge thorugh. Everyone got out of their cars and started having fun on the bridge. Throwing the football running around on the empty oncomming section. It was alot of fun. At that moment even know I was stuck it was really fun. I am sure the people not on the bridge sitting in non-moving traffic were cursing the hell out of the thing. So it must be hard for the bridge to be loved buy some at times and hated by others at the same time.

I hate the traffic just as much as you.
I question the source of the traffic just as much as you.
I curse at the idiots just as much as (actually, probably more than) you.
Then I realized last week, how beautiful the view is on the bridge.
Cherish the simple things people!
The traffic isn't going away anytime soon, so why not enjoy the good things...while you yell through the window to tell that moron to get off his cell phone.

Fuck you, 520 Bridge!! I hate your guts. You make my commute a living hell every morning. How, you ask? Because all the cars going south on I-5 that want to go to the east side queue up and block not only the left exit lane, but the entire goddamn freeway, for miles and miles! You turn I-5 into a parking lot and I really, really hate you for it. Bah!
If I'm unlucky enough to get caught in the left exit lane, it's impossible to merge into any other lane of traffic. It's completely smooth sailing all the way downtown once I get past you, so I know it's all your fault. Asshole.
Thanks for ruining my life, Evergreen Point Floating Bridge!

From 1976 - 1984, I crossed this bridge twice every day except during summer vacation. At some point, it was out of commission, and I had to drive around the north end of the lake to see any of my friends. One night, when it was super windy and rainy, it tried to kill me. I also learned to drive a stick shift crossing the bridge once. Good times. It's not a perfect bridge, but it always got me there.

I hate you, my daughter hates you, I am pretty sure my car hates you too. I will hate you more when you start charging a toll. But guess what, I would hate to live in the suburbs more so, stay floating for a while.

If there's anything more soul crushing than sitting here trapped in a parking lot of traffic trying to get home from work I can't think of it. Honestly 90% of the time I can't even figure out what's causing the traffic. It'll be packed solid almost to the bridge and then be completely open on the bridge. How the heck does that happen?
And more hated than anything is the backup that happens when people trying to get onto 405 decide that it would be better for them to sit in the two far left lanes rather than waiting in the right lanes like everyone else. Grrrrrrr.

Every day I wake up, thankful that I'm on this planet and how fortunate I am to have friends and family in my life.
Then about 25 minutes later, I'm on the 520 bridge commuting to work wishing I was able to end my life without endangering the people around me if my car were to veer off the road.
The person that is responsible for the the urban planning of Seattle should be captured, gagged and .... you fill in the blank.
Seattle has got to the be the worst city for commuting and it's not restricted to one way. Either direction at either morning or evening is simply brutal. I read regularly in the Seattle times that they are planning on rebuilding the bridge to improve commuting. Timeline? 2011 at best, which means I'm stuck with 4 more years of 5 days a week where I'm frantically searching my car for something sharp to gauge my eyes out with.

Me: You know we're on a bridge which floats, right?
Friend: Uh-uh! You're BSing me!
Me: No, really, it floats!
Friend: You're so full of it!
Me: No, really, as you can see, this thing isn't suspended in any way and take my word for it - there aren't pilings below us.
Friend: You're serious? It floats? How?
Me: Well, you know what pontoons are?.....
You get my drift. Its hard for most visitors to fathom that a bridge - one of concrete and steel no less - can float. That's why the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge is one of the must-visits whenever I'm doing the tour guide thing. But never, ever, ever during rush hour, of course!
