Instead of eating dessert at the restaurant we had dinner at, I picked another place for dessert so I can get another yelp. Yes I'm a dork. :p
We had the Romeo and Juliet crepe which is the banana, strawberries, and nutella crepe. We also added a scoop of vanilla and strawberry ice cream to go with it.
Crepe was crispy and they weren't stingy with the filling. If they can get better ice cream, then this place would be a 5 stars dessert place! :)
It looks like most of the reviews are of how yummy the crepes are. I haven't tried them but now I'm going to.
I stopped by after work as I was feeling something sweet. This place is GREAT. They have such a great selection of EVERYTHING. I was bad and tried 2 of their treats and SO fresh and the prices are so decent. 2 huge treats cost me about $6.
I can't wait to go back and try everything else!
If you're feeling like crepe in Queens, this restaurants is the place to go. Euro Delights is also one of my favorite places to get a cup of coffee and chill too.
I always get the traditional sugar and butter crepe or the everyone's favorite nutella & banana crepe.
Ok, I'm not a pastry chef, but I do know what's delicious. I was at this place this past weekend and had a couple crepes after hearing how AMAZING and WONDERFUL they were and OMG FRENCH PASTRY CHEF GUY: http://www.yelp.com/bi...
The verdict (as told to my friend)? "Yeah, this place? It's good....but it's no Euro Delights."

NUTELLA AND BANANA CREPES. Need I say more? NO!
BEST. THING. EVER.
This is my go-to breakfast (or anytime) place in Astoria. They are friendly, open late, and lightning fast on the service. I've brought numerous people here and they've all loved it.
Try the Marie Antoinette (strawberries, bananas, Baileys, and Nutella), it's my favorite crepe. Very nice cappucino too.
My boyfriend and I now get waaaay too excited when one of us says, "Crepes?" It's our ritual. He actually gets mad if I go without him.
Lovely spot, especially in the summer with the open air atmosphere.
Nice sweet and savory crepes. Very tasty. Nice space.
Oh man. Oh man oh man oh man!!! This place definitely holds a little spot in my heart!!
The most difficult part about coming here is deciding whether you want a sweet or savory crepe. They've got close to, I dunno, a million crepe options (read: 60 or so, plus make your own!). The service is always superb and the smell of crepes being made right by the window is out of control!
This place has become a favorite haunt for a friend and I. Every time we go we sit there lost and confused on whether to get a sweet or savory. Until our brilliant(ly slow) minds came to the conclusion that we could each order a savory crepe and split a sweet!! Even though that works out pretty well, deep down inside we both know that we each want our own...lol (inside joke).
I highly recommend the "Romeo y Juliet" and "Marie Antoinette" crepes.
The only drawback (and this applies to all crepe places) is the price. Not so much on the savory crepes (between $8-10) since it's quite filling, but a lot of the sweet crepes are nearly the same price, and being a dessert shouldn't cost as much as the meal itself.
Other random awesomeness: The whole facade of the cafe opens up to create an open air cafe!! I love it!!!
I've been coming here on weekends for about a year now... and I must say, I still love it!
I'm a big fan of their Marie Antoinette crepe. My bf gets the Jumbalaya crepe. We end up splitting each crepe for the sweet (Marie Antoinette) & the salty (Jumbalaya).
I also get the frullato #2 shake. Fantastic!
When the weather gets warm, they also open up the doors in front of the store. It's really nice.
Not a bad spot, but a very loud refrigerator in the dining room, which even the music couldn't drown. Crêpes are yummy by nature. That said, Euro Delight's were unexceptional. Crêpe itself not particularly light or tasty. Nutella tasted like watered-down Hershey's syrup. Whipped cream was out of a can.
Food 5 + ambiance 3 + value 5 + service 5 = overall 4.6 / 10 (forgettable)
This. Place. Is. Awesome.
I'll just echo everyone here and say the crepes are to die for. Not only do they have 30+ types of sweet and savory crepes, but you can even make your own. The ambiance is a little like a cafeteria, so maybe the decor doesn't really match the awesomeness of the food. But the service was good, prices were reasonable.
Just ate here for the first time. I had the Il Paris crepe and tried my friend's crepe which was filled with nutella, bananas and all kinds of other goodness.
I'm only giving it three stars because I felt at about $10 per crepe it was a little bit over priced. If they changed the price thought by just a couple dollars it would be much better.
Also note that the service wasn't that friendly. They seemed a bit more concerned with rushing me out the door, although they only had about one other table.
Great brunch spot. It's a small cafe but opens up onto the sidewalk to give it an airy feel that's perfect on a nice, sunny day.
They have your standard egg dishes for breakfast and brunch, but the specialty is the savory crepes. I've only had the breakfast ones, such as the Southwest with eggs, green chilies, and avocados, and the Stallion, featuring eggs, cheese, sausages and onions. Both were yummy and filling, but not so much so that I had to pass out for the next few hours.
The only major down side is that the service can be very slow, despite the smallness of the place.
This place is fantastic.
It's a very homey business, like much of Astoria and although on the small side, it's clean and the service is great (well the man that I deem is probably the owner is great, his waitresses, not so much).
Regardless, it's such a neighborhood staple and ideal for when you need a good, cheap eat.
They have so may different types of crepes and most is made with buckwheat flour (healthier but doesn't taste healthier for those of you going "ew")
I am in love with the Stallion (juicy Italian sausages, peppers, eggs and cheese). I also love the "To Your Health" one. It has Greek yogurt, strawberries, bananas, and honey. DELICIOUS.
Huge portions ideal for crepe swapping with friends.
Their breakfast potatoes are also good. Hearty and sizable, and intermixed with colorful peppers.
There are tables that open up onto the sidewalk, great for a bright sunny day. Their coffee and shakes are wonderful and they even have fresh juice.
The prices are cheap ($6-7 for a huge crepe) and I really like how nothing is over seasoned.
Honestly, if you love crepes and given their more than abundant options, then I don't see how anyone has anything bad to say.
Maybe I should have gotten a crepe, but I didn't, I got the panini. And while it was OK, it was nothing special.
However, the service was horrible. We were one of two groups in the entire restaurant and we were ignored for a good 15 minutes, then served once, and never spoken to until we asked for the bill (which came 20 minutes later than it should have). No water refill, no nothing. And we saw that the waitress really wasn't doing anything, so no real excuse either.
Maybe this whole neighborhood just has bad service...
Crepe heaven!!!! I love this place. Just thinking about it makes me crave some more. The staff is super sweet and the prices are very reasonable. The food is super delish. I love, love, love this place.
Now go!
I respectfully disagree, I was brought here and told how great it was and that I would love it. And I totally did.
Small, urban, cozy atmosphere. Nothing more or less than you would want from your neighborhood low-key brunch spot. It's busy on the weekends, so you may a little bit for an open table or for your food, but it's worth it.
Great selection of both savory and sweet crepes. Never seen so many options and ingredients. Reasonably priced, huge, delicious....really what more could you want?
They even offer wheat flour for you health-nuts or psuedo-health-nuts.
I added artichokes to a mediteranean breakfast crepe that I split with a friend. It was a rock concert in my mouth. I only shared it because then I gobbled up my very own "Romeo&Juliet" dessert crepe-- nutella, banana, and Strawberry. As blissfully romantic and delicious as its namesakes' wedding night shenanigans.
Good coffee too. The sandwiches looked tasty as well.
As for crappy service, sometimes I appreciate the authenticity of busy, apathetic New York waiters. It's a little test for you, the diner. Be assertive. Practice your international restaurant sign language. You know, like pointing at your empty coffee cup or make the checkmark symbol in the air from across the room, and be smug when you get your refill before the hapless tourists at the next table.
If you're patient enough to wait out the service, indulge in The "Marie Antoinette Crepe," which is a remarkable mix of strawberries, bananas, Baileys, nutella and some whipped creme. MA is best crepe on the menu and as an employee of the restaurant told me, one of the most requested. The prices have dramatically increased here over the past year or so, but I still regularly stop by because these crepes are truly delicious and can easily become one of your cravings.
Euro Delights has always held a special place in my Astoria heart - it was the first place I ate when I moved into my apartment 5 years ago. Ah, 2004, times were good & the meals here averaged $5.50. Now it's December 2008, my beloved Le Paris crepe is $9.50, coffee's doubled in price & ingredient quality is bordering on embarrassing.
Went this morning for my go-to hangover breakfast - coffee & a Spinach Feast. They are now using canned mushrooms & canned spinach. I was so sad, mostly about the spinach. It was that mushy, tinny tasting, gray spinach from a can. The shrooms were pathetic, tomatoes so mealy. And the prices have gone up another dollar. While it's still not breaking the bank, there has been about a 40% price increase on most menu items here over the past 18 months. I may be willing to pay the difference if the changes hadn't also including no longer using fresh produce.
I think this will have been my last visit, truly a sad day for me.
if i'm in euro delights it means i'm in astoria and i'd rather shoot myself in the face.
the food is the same as any other diner/sandwich spot. it doesn't suck and it doesn't inspire.
go here if you live nearby for a cheapish breakfast. don't bother otherwise.
ohhh! i love this place!
this place really deserves a 4.5 star rating.
the crepes are D-LISH
and, when you come on off hours, you can just plug in your laptop and they'll just keep on refilling your water as yelp away about how awesome this place is!
oh, and in the spring and fall they open up these giant windows that in the winter serve as walls
oh! the warm breeze and delicious crepes....
just FANTASTIC
my fav crepe is the savory artichoke crepe.... so yummy!!! oh! just sighing on how the flavors dance on my tongue!
I'm torn. I want to give this place more stars...but...but...Julia O. has spoiled me. Once you've eaten Julia's crepes, well...
I really like Euro, and it does Delight, open glass doors, very friendly staff. I brought a beer from another location, and not only did they let me drink it, they brought me a glass mug to drink it in. So cool.
Don't get me wrong, the crepe was good. I got banana, caramel, rum with vanilla ice cream.
So, to summarize, if you haven't had Julia O.'s you'll love these : )
You have to understand, having lived in Belgium for eight years, any crepe I eat doesn't stand up to my childhood memories. BUT, some have come close. Euro Delights, unfortunately, does not. That is not to say that it's horrible - they offer a variety of crepes with a decent menu of other "European" foods as well. They are just a little too sweet, or a little too bland.
Aside from the crepes, I have found this place to have rather European prices. You can definitely find better and cheaper crepes in Manhattan, if you're really in the mood.
This place is on my regular rotation of brunch places in Astoria. Not that they have a particularly good brunch deal or anything like that, but their set menu is just so great and their normal food fits the brunch bill all the time!
The missus always gets a crepe (usually the nutella and banana) and I usually go for the 6 dollar spaghetti bolognese ("spa bo" as I like to call it). It's a nice hearty bowl of some spaghetti with a very thick tasty beef tomato sauce on top; awesome for hangover cure. Service is speedy and casual. Feel free to hop in for a quick bite, or sit around with a book. They open up all the glass walls usually so you're pretty much right on the street.
Went here for a double date with my wife's friend and her husband. We shared the Marie Antoinette, a sweet crepe with Nutella, bananas, strawberries and Bailey's. The crepe was excellent. The crepe itself was soft and chewy which is how I like it.
Prices are extremely reasonable... I think my crepe was $6.50. They have a good selection of hot drinks. Would definitely go back.
Had brunch here on a pretty Saturday afternoon. They had their doors wide open to the street, with a perfect breeze blowing through. I enjoyed a coffee and a crepe (maple & butter, mmm) and my friend liked her yogurt & honey crepe as well. They were busy, but the servers kept up and we had nothing to complain about. It's a cafeteria like atmosphere, but it's not a bad place to grab a quick bite!
Ehhhh....
You know how if you go to a place with people who have been there before, and on the way there, they're telling you how great it is and how much you'll love it? And then when you get there, you're really disappointed because they'd built up your expectations and you didn't think it was worth all the praise?
Unfortunately, that was my experience with this place. I really wanted to like it, but it just wasn't what I'd expected.
If you go, expect crappy service (the waitress never came to check on us), huge crepes filled with cheap ingredients (I felt like I was going to explode for a couple of hours after eating one, and the hot cider I ordered was, I think, just microwaved juice), and zero atmosphere--if you expect these things you won't be disappointed in what you get, which may be slightly worse than average.
I wish I had a better review, but I'm spoiled in the ways of the crepe (See my review for Crooked Tree if you want specifics).
Euro Delights is a great little creperie on Broadway in Astoria. I like both the sweet and savory crepes, try #57 or 58. The service is friendly but I've always found it odd that they don't bring you your check (or even ask). Perhaps this is a European style where they'll just let you sit there as long as you like. Every time I've been there we end up getting up and walking up to the register to pay the bill. I need to take better advantage of that prime sitting time, it is a great place to sit and watch people walk by on the street outside, and see the old bartender from Gibney's Pub across the street smoking his pipe.
down right scrumptious. their crepes will fulfill every type of hankering - sweet, sour, spicy, breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc. - you have.
So maybe this isn't the place for a romantic dinner, but not all the places have to be. It's a friendly atmosphere crêperie with a broad selection of both savoury and sweet crêpes. The staff are service minded and open to requests. The food is really good and priceworthy. I've enjoyed it every time and I hope you'll try it out and join the "fan base".
Um, the peanut butter and nutella crepe is all I'm sayin. It's become my new place to eat through my hangover from the previous night. Cheap, quick, and easy.
this menu is huge! after a great deal of consideration and some impulse decision making i settled on a bananna, nutella and strawberry crepe, and was NOT disappointed. the waitstaff was friendly and didn't mind our (probably annoying) indecisiveness. add to all this crepe magic a beautiful sunny day and a table that opens up onto the sidewalk and you have a really nice dinning experience. i'll definitely be back with over 30 different types of crepes (not to mention the rest of the menu that i didn't even look at) to sample! i also give euro delights bonus points for being close to the N stop on broadway.
LOVE IT. Decent service, a little slow, but with a relaxed attitude, sometimes it's GOOD to take 2 hours and have a relaxing brunch with friends. Quality Crepes, so so so yummy!!!!! Omelets are good as well, and you can order things to your specific wants if you are watching your diet. Great coffee, nice view, terrible music! ha!
I visited Euro here with a friend from outta town on New Years Day. We were looking for crepes. We came in and the place was packed, a table opened up but we weren't seated for a while - they seemed VERY overwhelmed with about two ladies in the front waiting tables and a cute lil older man who seemed to mostly point and whoever needed help or needed seats, but I'm not sure what else he was up to. So we waited like twenty minutes just to get drinks, a little ridiculous for a simple cup of coffee and we never got the water we asked for (though we didn't push the issue). We tried the Spinach Feast crepe and the Romeo Y Julieta sweet crepe and both were tasty. As far as something special the Spinach Feast was perfect, so delicious. Spinach, Ricotta, tomato - just goodness in a whole wheat crepe pancake, I don't remember what else but it was like, a great balance of flavors and nutrition. I wouldn't hesitate to return, the 3-star rating had more to do with the service we got today because of all the excessive waiting around for something simple like coffee. It wasn't like we ordered anything complicated. Maybe I can change my 3 stars next time 'round :) I do recommend trying it out, especially if you live in the neighborhood!
been here only 4x and i live down the block. crepes have always been fresh, the spinach tastes and looks fresh, dark green, the mushrooms have the uneven look of fresh mushrooms and cut that way too. the cheese was not too salty and the tomatoes and cucumbers were crisp. nothing looked or tasted curious. it was delicious. the place is always clean and the service pleasant. my latte was near perfect. it is a trace pricey. there is always a steady crowd and it's always been a great alternative to all the good and somewhat increasing cost of the greek food in the area.
found this one while apartment hunting and decided based on the crepes that we had to live as nearby as possible. i eat here all the damn time! they also do burgers, panini, wraps and such. the crepes, however, are where it's at. the To Your Health is my favorite: yogurt, bananas, strawberries, walnuts and honey drizzled on top. yummy!
