I was in Bayfield for my brother's wedding, and after a fun sailboat ride on Lake Superior, we returned to Le Chateau Boutin (B&B owned by the Rittenhouse) for a family-only get together. My brother and his now-wife had ordered an insane amount of pizza and other items from Ethel's and everything was DELICIOUS. One of the pizzas we ate had an array of toppings, including apples.
If you find yourself in Bayfield, stop in! -

If you are in Bayfield during the summer season, check out Ethels. Everyone is very friendly. Its a place that instantly feels like home and the food was very good, home cooked style. I had good ol' spaghetti and meatballs and loved it.

The food was good. I tried the Bayfield pizza which has Canadian bacon and apples. It tasted a lot like a Hawaiian so I loved the combination. Their crust is not the best out here. I much prefer Sergeant's Pepperoni Pizza by Greunke's. The shrimp alfredo was alright too. I thought the prices were a bit steep at this place compared to others and the decor was just too study hallish for me.
However, I loved that the owner made sure that service would be a non-issue. He helped out the servers by taking orders, bussing tables, hosting, etc. on a very busy night. -

Restaurant has a casual decor and atmosphere. The staff was great.
We were a large, large group, and everyone was well taken care of.
I think everyone liked their food, ranging from personal pizzas to steak, to white fish chowder.
I had the chowder and a mediterranean salad. The salad was good. The chowder was good, but there was nothing outstanding about it.
Would I go back? Yes. -

I love the inside of this place because the new woodwork gives it a really fresh and bright look. The salads and pasta were awesome. Check it out if you are in town.

We came to Bayfield not knowing what to expect in terms of weather, activities, and of course, food, but Ethel's was absolutely great! They have a good selection of brews on tap and I would definitely recommend the pizza. High quality, delicious topping choices. My girlfriend had the Bayfield special (I think that was what it was called). Cheese, Canadian bacon, cheddar cheese, apples, and a special sauce, which had a bar-b-que base. The waitress even welcomed us by saying "welcome to Ethel's and you are about to have an amazing meal.". No joke. Definitely a not-miss when you are in Bayfield!

I was just in Bayfield this past weekend and ate at quite a few local restaurants. The owners of Ethel's did a great job of renovating this place... the food is good and the service is very friendly. Stop here for pizza or pasta if you're in Bayfield!

I have been coming to Bayfield/Madeline Island on vacation for the past 10 years and only just ate here this year. Wow--I had really been missing out! They only open for dinner (and I always stay on Madeline, so I'm gone by then) but their pizza is worth the wait.
Great atmosphere, great food, fantastic service (although, would you expect anything else in Bayfield?) -

This is really one of those great little restaurants you don't actually want any one else to find out about. But they're so nice I just had to share. The food is delicious, you can tell they really worked on getting everything "just right". The service is friendly--the best in Bayfield--and every time I've been there I've been greeted by the owner and treated like family.
