This place can be your one-stop shop for birthday gifts and cards for anyone you know and love, or don't know and are being forced to buy a gift for, or that co-worker you hate because she's always smacking her gum.

There are fun gifts for all - from sake sets and serving plates to jewelry and tacky figurines of pets wearing costumes. There is even a fantastic and funky Christmas ornament selection in the winter, and a more limited selection year-round. The owners are also very helpful.

But the best part is the CARDS. There is a much larger selection of funny and original greeting cards than anywhere else int he city. There are cards by Ann Taintor, Uncooked, and a lot of smaller publishers. Guaranteed to buy more than you intended to...

This store is my go-to last-minute gift store. I always seem to find something great here (cards, wine openers, glassware, magnets, jewelry, candles, etc.), and the guys that own the place are fantastic. I avoid places where stuff is just crammed in there and the fancy ladies who work there are just so wacky it hurts, all hurrying around and straightening and re-stocking, er, re-stuffing junk in there. This place, on the other hand, is owned by a couple of friendly guys who do a great job editing their merch, which I think really makes for a great shopping experience!

i love this store.  every time i walk by it i see something in the window i adore.  i got a buddha cookie jar here which is one of the most wonderful, enjoyable purchases i've ever bought.  i could spend so much here on things i don't need, which is why i rarely go in.

Cards and gifts for every occasion....as well as every sexual preference!   Etc has the funniest, the raunchiest, the cleverest and the cutest.  They have handmade things too, if you prefer more of a "one-of-a-kind" item.  Etc also has great giftie shop things, address books and other oddities.  
The service is always great.  If you have an hour to spare, or just need a greeting card, Etc is the best!  Also, if you park on L St instead of 21st, there's no meters.  Which you should take advantage of, because I always seem to spend more than I plan to when I go to Etc.
