Went back to this salon and got waxed by the owner herself. She is a babe. But more importantly, she is one of the best waxers I've ever had. Quick, methodical, friendly but not weirdly so for someone who is staring at my parts, and as painless as a brazilian comes. You can tell she knew exactly what she was doing. Every strip that she used has some purpose and she knew all of the little tricks of the trade; the breathing exercises, the pressing down on the skin after the most sensitive part etc.

Good booze, great food, fabulous spa treatments. That's all this girl ever wants for birthdays/anniversaries/holidays. Therefore, when I saw a Tidbits Treats for a $75 facial for $35, I shot an email to my husband to get it for me stat!
I went in today for my facial, complete with mask and it was divine! I had an appointment with Ella, and she was positively lovely. The facial was very relaxing and I felt my skin glowing once I left. One other positive note - Ella knows how to do extractions. I've been to a few facials and during the extractions it can feel like they are barely touching your face (therefore, not really doing much) or like they're stabbing a serving fork into your nose. Luckily, she hit the sweet spot, where she was getting the job done, but not so painfully that tears would spring to my eyes.
Also- she was able to point out the red splotches on my chin were from over-exfoliation (damn you St. Ives!) and steer me in the direction of a better skin care line.
Overall I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend! -

I love this place!
Everyone is so nice and welcoming, the place is beautiful, relaxing and I love the new location!
I've been going to Laureen for my eyebrows and honestly, my eyebrows haven't looked this great in years. I have found my waxist. On top of doing a great job, she's very nice and isn't aggressive or seems like she's rushed, like some waxists I have come across.
I can't wait to try out their other services! -

I went here after reading all the great reviews. The place is very cute and people are nice but my eyebrow wax really wasn't anything special. Found the result to be same as a $5 nail place can offer. No real "art" to it. Shaping was off. Needless to say I haven't gone back

i had heard so many good things about esty and i finally made it over for a facial. the facial was awesome (thank you laureen). i love the location, the building is great and the owner and staff are very friendly. the facial was very relaxing, wonderful smelling products, my skin felt great after and i loved the scalp massage! i will be going back...

First off I am a very awkward person. I am ticklish, am not comfortable in silence and am easily intimidated when out of my comfort zone...so spas have never been my "thing". In my first two experiences (1st for a massage then a facial) I was met with ...for lack of a better word..."uppity" service and an all around uncomfortable experience, from scoffing at my questions to annoyed sighs when I (very embarrassed) tried hard not to fidget --- not very relaxing. So you can imagine how nervous I felt when my boyfriend surprised me with a groupon for a free facial at Esty (he is very sweet).
I booked my apt and tried to keep an open mind.---SO glad I did! First of all it's located in the cutest historical house I've ever seen---not the traditional spa. Super cozy and welcoming and warm. I walked in and was greeted by name by a very friendly receptionist. She was all smiles as she checked me in. And then I was taken into my room by Ella who was doing my facial. I dont' want to continue to babble on and on but I must say --- ELLA IS AWESOME! She explained everything every step of the way, when I had awkward ticklish moments she laughed along with me and when I asked questions she had thoughtful answers. She was so friendly and just NORMAL that I soon felt more relaxed then I have ever been and I LOVED my facial and even the massage part which I'm usually to fidgety to enjoy.
The experience was so great all around (and my skin was so visually improved ---glowing and so fresh!) that I booked my next one right after. And guess what? prices are the most reasonable I've ever seen !
So if you are wanting to get great results from friendly people in a welcoming and warm environment ---Esty is your place. If you are more the kind that likes pretentious service behind stark white walls. Move on ;-) -

The extra attention was great. Wish they would have told me that the recommended masks were going to cost extra, rather than being surprised about it at check out....Boo!

I found Esty on Yelp when I was in need of an eyebrow wax. The reviews sounded great so I called for an appointment. They were able to fit me in that afternoon!
Sometimes when you go to a salon for the first time, it can be intimidating because the employees aren't welcoming or accomodating to newcomers. Britney was absolutely fantastic. She did a great job on my brows and even took the time to show me where NOT to pluck so we could work on shaping them long term. I enjoyed her so much that I booked an appt for the "Va Va Voom" lashes later that week. Again, she was so professional and really seemed to cater the services to my needs; not just the standard cookie cutter routine that you might receive at other salons.
The services are great, the prices are affordable, and the salon is beautiful. I would highly recommend. I'll definitely be back! -

I came here for my birthday last Monday and did they ever make it special for me.
Walking in you're struck by the space. It's amazing and inviting. You continue to be in awe as you enter THEE LARGEST treatment room I've ever been in. You could do cartwheels in there. It's so nice and yet cozy. I found out from Jessica, the owner, that this is an 1885 duplex owned by Italian immigrants and is the oldest duplex in Austin. I love facts like that!!
So enough about the mega-awesome structure.
I had both a facial and back facial with Laureen. I opted for the upgrade of the peel for both my back and face and highly recommend them. First there was minimal stinging, in fact almost none. Second, days later I can tell a huge difference and yet my face scarcely peeled. It is worth the extra money.
I followed all this relaxation up with massage from Jesus. The guy knows his stuff let me tell you. He not only massages you, but gives you tips on what you can do to strengthen various muscles that are weak. (So does my chiropractor, but I'm bad about doing home work.)

This business is located in one of Austin's historic homes on the East side right by Franklin's and Blue Dahlia. If that's not reason enough to drop in, then let me tell you about the wax lady I go see - Ella. She does a fantastic job and her work is entirely painless. I think I've landed on hot wax gold, people. It's easy to get an appointment and you're in and out in no time. The place is really chill and calming. I highly recommend you give Esty a try!

Some might say that a pedicure is just a pedicure. This is not true. Some pedicures are hasty and painful, and some are perfectly blissful. After a 20 hour drive from Chicago I was in desperate need of some foot love, and my search online definitely didn't bring me any closer to what I was looking for, so I turned to Yelp. After several searches for a decent nail salon somewhere on the east side, I expanded my search to include spas, and that is where I found Etsy Skin Studio.
Today I had probably one of the best "mini" pedicures I've ever had. Laureen was great, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Cool, quiet, and calmly friendly, Etsy is housed in an adorable duplex that offers a variety of services. It is a bit more pricey than I'm used to, but I have to remind myself that this is a spa and not some random, whatever type of nail place that barks you into and out of a chair. I was so pleased that I've already booked an eyebrow wax, and am looking forward to a facial someday. -

I came to this spa based on the positive Yelp reviews, and discovered the rave reviews are well deserved! Ella gave me a brow wax and my left my brows beautiful, clean, symmetrical, and natural looking. She did a great job, was quick, and there was very little pain. The spa itself has a wonderful ambiance and the prices are incredibly reasonable. I look forward to trying some of their other services!

I was immediately impressed with Esty. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. My stress melted away the minute I walked in. The decor and aesthetics are warm, relaxing and welcoming.
I had an appointment with Ella for a facial. Ella has beautiful, flawless skin and was truly a lovely person who put me at ease right away. She has a gentle touch when it comes to extractions and does not use tools. The facial was effective and I noticed results the next day. She gave me tips for improving my complexion and health overall. I made an appointment with Ella for the following week and will continue to do this. I highly recommend her and Esty! -

Ok, there is almost no one in the world who could make me put pictures of my zits on the internet. But since Jessica is the reason that my skin is so much better, I'll do it.
I bought a groupon for 3 chemical peels. I had been dealing with problem skin for awhile and was looking for ANYTHING I could do to make it better. During that first chemical peel, we talked about Jessica's perspective on holistic skin care, starting with food choices and drinking a lot of water. Changing my diet a little bit has a made a big difference.
We discussed products that I had bought at other spas and she explained why some of them were not actually helping my skin.
She gave me the recipe for her papaya exfoliation mask, which is simple, cheap and amazing.
I found out her facials are super inexpensive and also super high quality.
I was hooked, and my skin looks better than it has in a year and a half. -

I went back to Esty yesterday for a Brazilian ....my first Brazilian (if you don't count the time 4 years ago when after the first strip I had to quit and walk away)...and needless to say, I was absolutely petrified. I had read the review about Jessica and her "Best Reason to Spread 'Em!" award...and decided that since the facial was so great, I'd give her another shot.
I'm so glad that I did! Jessica is unbelievably professional, and though I'm sure I was not the most relaxed or easiest client due to my nerves, sheer lack of pain tolerance, and inclination towards being ticklish...I am unbeleivably pleased with results. Jessica's draping techniques are top notch and I can't wait to go back. Since it was my first one, I wouldnt call the experience painless, but Jessica made it as pleasant as such an endeavor could be! I will defintely be back!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Esty is simply wonderful.
It started with my phone call to book a series of treatments that would take about 4.5 hours. Jessica recommended a great plan and they could accommodate me two days later! Also, I have mild psoriasis and am always concerned with booking skin treatments because of that (I had a masseuse yell at me before). Jessica assured me that it wasn't a problem. And it wasn't.
When I arrived, everyone was very friendly and I felt very comfortable. The space was nice and clean. The treatment rooms were spacious and relaxing.
I started with Brittany for a facial and eyebrow waxing. She explained everything she was doing and helped me understand how to improve my skin care. She was never judgmental or condescending which I very much appreciated. She also recommended a few products at my request; I never felt pressured to buy.
Next up was my massage with Jesus. This was the first time I'd ever had a male give me a massage and I was slightly terrified. Jessica asked when I booked my appointment if a male therapist was ok with me and I was nervous but said yes since I'm having a lot of shoulder pain and I thought a stronger hand would be good. Turns out, I had NO reason to be nervous. Jesus was amazing and considerate of my shoulder pain and worked out a lot of it. He explained what was happening to my muscles. He and I had a wonderful chat for the entire massage (because I kept talking) and I left feeling refreshed and relaxed.
My last treatment was a mani/pedi with Laureen. She was patient while I choose my nail color... which took a few minutes because there are a lot of great colors! I ended up going with a funky purple which is far off from my normal classic red. Laureen is well-traveled and we had a great conversation while I received a wonderful mani/pedi. She did a beautiful job and the mani/pedi lasted for a very long time.
My experience ended with help getting a taxi from Shawna, the receptionist. She was super helpful and went above and beyond.
Overall it was an amazing afternoon. I highly recommend you head to Esty and spend some time with everyone... they all ROCK! -

I am always searching for a really unique and iniviting salon that is clean and luxurious. ETSY is my new favorite place and I am excited to keep going back not only for eyebrows but for waxing too. I had such a great first experience that was easy, friendly and comfortable. Elisha did such a great job on my brows and went over how my shape needed to be and didnt overdue it my first time in because she knew that they needed to grow out a little more. Not to mention, the atmosphere, which is so well done and exemplifies everything I love about an Austin Salon. I am glad I found ETSY online by randomly googling and trying to discover a new place in town. . . . Plus Waller street is such a neat street in town that ETSY fits right in. Thank you ladies for such a great experience and I look forward to coming back often.

I bought group-ons from here a few months back. I bought two, one as a gift. The giftee didn't want it so I asked Jessica if I could use if for myself. She allowed it and I received 6 very awesome blueberry / pomegranate facials, 10% chemical peel(I think). Jessica was very professional and knowledgeable. I only had one facial before this and enjoyed it but didn't see any benefits from it. I assumed is was a waste of money. Have several light peels within 10 days of each other. When you start a regiment like that your skin totally transforms. After about the 3rd one I had never received so many compliments on my skin. My group-ons are used up but I'm sold. I started shopping around and found that Esty is really reasonable and absolutely worth the money for great skin.

I recently moved out to Austin from California and prior to the move I researched yelp for a chic and affordable salon for my waxing needs.
I found Jessica from Esty and made an appointment immediately from CA for the first week I would be in Austin.
To put it simply, Jessica is amazing. I came from a salon in CA which I coveted and really feared that I would not like another place as much. Jessica immediately had me at ease and was so welcoming.
I always find it awkward when you're getting a service and the room is drop dead silent. Jessica is so open to conversation that it feels more like talking to a friend than as a client. Plus, she totally remembers past conversations and will ask me about how a trip went or how my dog is doing, showing she genuinely cares about the person she is treating.
Her prices are superb and the service excellent. This girl knows what she is doing, and enjoys it as well. It's obvious when I walk out of her salon having gotten exactly what I wanted. I won't go anywhere else. -

I have a firm policy that skin should be treated well, maintained, and pampered. I am also a big believer that one should go as natual as possible when it comes to skin products. Jessica from Esty believes in all natural products-pure vitamin E lotions, papaya masques, and treating your skin well. She does an amazing job, and can even squeeze you in for a quick 30 minute facial during your lunch break. She recommends products but doesn't push them on you, and she will give you her papaya face masque recipe for free!
Esty is located inside Soma Vida. It is clean, relaxing, and inviting. -

update: I have now had three treatments all done by Ella! It's true, the more you have the service done, the less it hurts. However, it definitely helps that Ella is gentle and she's so easy to strike up a conversation with...makes the awkward quotient definitely more bearable!
I had my first ever Brazilian wax w/ Jessica and her understudy, Ella today. I had horrid (think Sex and The City) ideas of what to expect from this experience. All fours? legs in the air? Not at all! These ladies were very professional, and cared about not making the experience any more uncomfortable.... and their draping technique was a wonderful and comforting touch.
Beautiful and calming, dimly lit space, candles lit, low music was on - it was warm and inviting.
I have a standing appointment and will return in three weeks - I am definitely looking forward to it and cant wait to schedule more services at Esty! -

I went to see Jessica at Esty for a bikini wax on the recommendation of an esthetician friend of mine. It was my first time and admittedly I was a bit nervous, although I have other parts waxed. Jessica was very calm & professional, she did a great job to put me at ease. She was also very efficient and the whole experience was over very quickly. Best of all, I had very little irritation afterward unlike some of my past waxing results. I also feel her prices are very comparable and affordable and I really appreciate the ease of scheduling, rescheduling and payment.
I definitely recommend Esty for waxing and I'm sure Jessica's other services are equally wonderful. -

Esty is just plain awesome. From the moment you walk in you just get a good feeling. The space is calm and peaceful and seems to make all of the days stress float away.
If walking in the door wasn't relaxing enough, how about the facial? Jessica is AMAZING. I was so at peace, everything smelled wonderful and felt even better. This is hands down the best facial that I've ever had.
I can't wait to return and fall into the heavenly bliss that is Esty. -

It's nice to finally have such a relaxing ( for waxing) spot in the neighborhood to go to. The staff is great and Laureen was awesome! This was my first time and I just did a Eye/Lip combo waxing, but i loved it. I really love when they leave me with eyebrows and not take everything off after stating several times " i like my eyebrows thick..just clean up". Laureen did just that and I will definitely make Etsy my new skin care spot!

This was my first facial, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I'm hooked now. It was so nice and relaxing. Better than therapy. I dumped my therapist yesterday and will be seeing Jessica for facials instead.

Yesterday I went in for my first facial at Esty. I was a little nervous, but mostly excited to unwind after a long day at work. The atmosphere at Esty is vibrant, organized, and soothing. The room where I had my facial was huge, the table/bed was very comfortable, and the aesthetician was a peach. My skin felt dewy and my face felt relaxed. I think education is important to the Esty crew, which I find really impressive. We had a nice conversation about skin care, and she was completely prepared to answer any and all of my skin care questions. I booked another appointment right away, and I can't wait to try the other services.

I followed Elisha Tomberlin to Esty from another day spa here in Austin and I couldn't be happier! Etsy is conveniently located off of east 11th street, 2 blocks from I-35. The house that Esty's is located in is spacious, comfortable, and relaxing. Also, as someone who loves taking care of myself, but also saving money, Etsy is VERY reasonably priced. You really get a lot of bang for your buck here and I would strongly recommend Esty to anyone in Austin!

I have always been an advocate for the regular facial. By regular I mean I keep a standing appointment! Facials are my way of fighting age gracefully, as well as, slipping into a state of bliss. I am a busy girl with a lot of stress and I take my bliss seriously!
Jessica takes both my skin and bliss as seriously as I do. Her product knowledge ranges from the top brands to the organic including local brands as well. For that I trust her. For her skills... I LOVE HER. From extractions to massage her technique is incomparable. Jessica also is trained in Reiki. I'm not too sure if she uses Reiki a little during the facial but my soul feels about as reenergized as my face when she's finished.
I do love fighting age with Jessica! -

Lashes for days!!! In Feb, I was on vacation in Austin and a friend of mine had the most gorgeous eyelashes. After learning that she had eyelash extensions, I had to have them!! I came across this adorable spa and went to Brittany. She is the best!!! I want to bring her out to New York. I have not found anyone who can perfect lash extensions like her. She is the "IT" lash girl!! :) very very very happy!!

Went for the first time to Esty/Jessica. The place is a little hard to locate as it inside Vida Day Spa or Soma Vida or something..... There is a tiny little sign on a fence for Esty so I walked in and had to ask if I was in the right place.
The inside is very cute and really big! I got an eyebrow and lip wax and Jessica did a nice job. I have been to 4 different eyebrow shapers/waxers and she did the best job but still not a true eyebrow shaper. I am beginning to think that anyone who can wax here in Austin considers them-self a 'shaper'.
I will be back until I can find someone that can actually shape. I want to try a facial since that seems to be the highlight treatment of hers. -

A few months ago, I decided that I needed a facial, despite never having had one in my life. Perhaps it was the multitude of bridal magazines suggesting it, but suddenly I felt as though it was absolutely necessary! After perusing Yelp, I called Jessica at Esty and scheduled a 45-minute facial. Finally, the day came and I found my way to Esty. It was easy to find, and the building was cute. I felt relaxed as soon as I walked in.
The facial was fantastic! I felt so relaxed and at ease. It was the perfect combination of relaxing (music, massage, aromatherapy) and functional (cleansing, mask, extractions, etc.). A couple of days later I scheduled monthly appointments for the rest of the year. I love having this little luxury every month. And for the price, it hardly even feels like a splurge! I am hooked.
I have gone back for a 30-minute facial, which was just as relaxing as the longer one. I felt just as pampered and my skin looked great afterwards. I also got my brows done, and they only just started growing back in after 2 weeks. For someone who normally needs to pluck daily or every other day to maintain a non-cavewoman look, this is a revelation!
I also love the malin+goetz facial cleanser and moisturizer I bought! -

I have visited Jess for a Brazilian wax, brow wax and a facial.
Her facial was superb. The products she uses smell fresh and are not greasy. She has a very light touch with extraction and doesn't try to pop what isn't ready to come out. I left exfoliated with clean pores and didn't even break out afterward.
And, oooh the waxes. This woman can wax! The brow wax was quick and painless, she reshaped my brows which totally made my eyes look larger. She drapes like NO other esty for the Brazilian. I had minimal discomfort and didn't feel awkward at all. She is super personable and ensures that you feel at ease. And, after I got my girlie bits stripped of hair, she bought me a cupcake from next door which made me feel all warm and fuzzy again. I mean, what a great way to send a girl on her way!
