four star goodness, 'nuff said.

despite the long wait at eat real, the piping hot pupusas were the highlight of the day. you can tell the goods (in my case, the pupusa revuelta) were made with love: they were thick and hearty, with a mix of pork, beans and cheese inside and a heaping pile of curtido (coleslaw/relish) piled on top.

you can't beat the fulfillment and comfort for the price!

Freshly made pupusas on the spot.....thumbs up.

My favorite one is the crazy pupusa ($5).I buy a few to take home. I can't eat spicy stuff but the salsa is so yummy on the pupusa.

Do they have a restaurant? Cuz I will be their #1 customer.

Order your pupusa and then walk around the farmers market while waiting. It can take awhile but so worth the wait. I always buy pupusas when I'm at this farmers market.

I was introduced to the wonders of the papusa today by Estrellita's Snacks at the Eat Real festival in Jack London Square... and I must say that I am in love!  Its a slice of heaven... cheese, pork and beans completely encompassed in the a delicious flat bread... amazing!  I can't wait to find Estrellita again... hopefully I won't have to wait until the next Eat Real festival!

The *pat pat pat* sound of masa patted out for freshly griddled pupusas is a siren's call for me. Watching pupusas (and other handmade goodies, really) being made fascinates me to no end.

Had 3 pupusas on Saturday - 2 bean, pork, and cheese and 1 cheese. SO good right off the griddle. The tomato sauce could use a little kick but the curtido was great.

Fresh made pupusas with the usual fixings. Love, love, love that spicy salsa. I haven't tried any but the plantain and yucca chips look yummy.

the pupusas are fresh and yummy, making it difficult to eat them just about anywhere else in the bay area. the revuelta is my favorite, while the kids stick to plain cheese. service is always slow, though, and sometimes maddeningly so, depending on who's taking orders at the front.
