3400 Stevenson BlvdDarn you, Yelp. When are you gonna let us give negative stars?
This place reminds me of a used car dealership because they try to sell you on superfluous extras (see Ralph C.'s review of said amenities) but then when you get back to the leasing office, they try to royally screw you over. After a tour of the complex as well as the minuscule apartment (less than 700 sq. ft!!!), I ended up in the leasing office and started asking about the rental rates that they advertised on that other free website that starts with a "C." The leasing rep seemed to have no idea what I was talking about. So when she brought it to the attention of leasing manager (who apparently posted the ads himself), I was surprised when they both came back and said, "Oh, well the rates that we advertised are old and the rent just went up yesterday."
POPPYCOCK!!!!
The rent that the leasing rep offered for the closet-sized apartment was nearly $200 more than what was advertised. The used car salesmen--er, leasing rep tried to assuage my disappointment by saying that I actually get one month free so it ends up being close to the rent that was advertised. What-EV.
This place gets a whopping NEGATIVE 5 stars for blatant false advertising and for wasting my time. I have no idea how people get away with this kind of crap. Isn't this illegal?!?

Look, I like a good screw as much as the next person, but I prefer it when I know it is coming. In all my born years, the only time I was ever denied a full security deposit, I was in grad school and I knew I was going to get screwed. Lease runs from start of school year to the start of the next school year. Students graduate in May. A few hundred, if not more miles away, who is going to go back to fight for a few hundred dollars. They know this, you know this, it is all in the game.
I did not expect this from Estates at Park Place. Decent enough apartments if you like the burbs, probably overpriced for the size nearly $1400 for a 600+ sq foot 1 bdrm and no office nook. They seem to think that the extras - business center with suspect internet service, accepting packages (except USPS), pool, and gym, with 2x a week yoga make it reasonable. Wrong. Tell me who in this day in age does not have high speed internet access at home. But with its proximity to BART (15 minute walk), easy access to all 3 airports, and easy commute to the Valley, it is a livable situation. Still, the office people are genuinely nice and generally helpful, looking out for the resident's best interest.
So you can only imagine my surprise when they bent me over. $80 charge for dust and after 7 years the floor looks a bit worn, what floor wouldn't. Like they don't do a power clean after a tenant moves out. If the level of dirt, is not going impact the power the clean what is the point in charging other than to screw the outgoing tenant.
Now that you have been properly warned, by all means, be my guest, go ahead and rent here just be sure to keep a bottle of lube.

no stars for employee verbal abuse and intimidation of residents.they will keep your deposit even though they gave you written agreement of its return, and u will have to take them to small claims to get your money back.
And you will have to listen to your neighbours fighting/on the toilet/or having sex through the paper thin walls.
They are too tight (employees own words) to replace the projector bulb in the movie theatre so it never worked, the computer in the "business suite" crashes so much its unusable.
Way over priced. The garbage situation is a health risk and eye sore

i've been here for two full days, almost. i figured that i would rate this place based on what has pissed me off so far so that i can remember it later when i update (in one year, when my lease is up).
first, i am short. i stand about 5'2", and for some reason, cities here on the west coast seem to better accommodate tall people. my last apartment (which i won't review until i get my deposit back) was also like this. the kitchen cabinets were set so high that they literally reached the ceiling. we had to buy four step stools so that i could reach things in the closets and in the kitchen. what a pain in the ass.
this place is no different. this time, i think its worse. i literally can't reach the microwave. i can open the door, but i can't reach to put anything in it. the cabinets are fit for amazon women (in both the bathroom and the kitchen), and to reach the top of the closet, i have to grab another taller step stool.
there is no timer on the oven, so you have to use the microwave timer if you're cooking something in the oven. ghetto fab. this place is only six years old and they skimped on the stove!
the funny thing is, the refrigerator is ridiculously short. my boyfriend stands 6'2" and towers over it.
the carpet is nice-- its berber, the tubs are huge-- roman style- and the place is very spacious. it took a little teeth pulling to get the leasing staff to get back to us about renting, but as long as you're persistent, it'll be all good.
my remote to the front entry gate doesn't work, and while i was in the leasing office, i saw that they were keeping a long list of the people who were having trouble with the remote (bad sign) as well.
apartments are pricey. very pricey. but its much cheaper than living in the peninsula, and we're right near BART.
yay for my shortened commute!
