John Rippo has done a formidable job of creating & maintaining, for decades now, one of San Diego's only free, independent news sources. The early-American, old school coffeehouse broadsheet style is fun. And the paper is immensely readable. At times, the Espresso gives you important stories the UT won't go near. Look for it in good coffeehouses (i.e. not Starbucks).
