I want to try Espressos again, but the one time I have had it, it was yummy.  Very sweet sauce and soft crust - heaven!  And I am completely fascinated by the rumored secret ingredient, Tang....

Will definitely be a staple on my trips to the sticks.

The sauce is sweeter than probably any pizza sauce you've ever had. I'm used to it, but my friends hate it. I had a poker night and invited five friends over (none from Fitchburg) and every single one of them hated this pizza. I still get made fun of to this day (years later) and they won't let me order pizza for fear I might order the "Sugar Pizza." I didn't mind the sauce at all, but I have a sweet tooth. I heard a rumor that they put orange soda in the sauce, but this is just a rumor. However, once you  have it, you'll probably believe it. It's that sweet. I haven't really had anything else, so it's hard to comment on the rest of the menu.

Allow me to keep this one nice and simple...

Friday night, Bruins play-offs, perfect summer night on the back-porch with six hungry lads. Limited budget since we have already gone to the Kappy's down the street.

We call up Espresso and order three pies, one taco, one tomato-basil, and one eggplant with spinach. The pies arrived via a super friendly delivery man that engaged me in Bruin-related banter. Nobody griped over the bill, and we dined quite finely on the back porch.

The pizza was good! Soft crust, sweet sauce, and flavorful ingredients. I am not someone that always opts to go down the pizza-path when faced with eating out, but I can see myself turning to Espresso again!

One of the reviewers said it best, I guess- either you love it or you hate it. I fall into the latter category. I was intrigued by all the comments on the sauce, so I gave it a whirl. Ordered two smalls with my usual topping combos that I use as a standard to judge new places- one Hawaiian, one pepperoni and mushroom (because really, who likes canned mushrooms on pizza? only one way to tell).

So you know that saying about how even bad pizza and bad something else is still good? Nope, not even in the slightest. I mean I'm not one to waste food, nor complain about it, even cheap frozen cardboard pizzas go down my fairly undiscriminating belly. But I really had to force myself to have another slice. I thought the sweetness might be better suited for the Hawaiian... it was not. And toppings/cheese slid right off...

Needless to say this one is checked off as tried, and never coming back.

Good Italian food outside the north end? In Fitchburg? Espresso pizza is here to let you know that good Italian cuisine can be found anywhere. Good arancini's (rice balls) are hard to find. At espresso's the rice balls are steaming hot and filled with delicious cheese, rice, peas, and meat. The pizza is also extremely sweet and delicious in every bite. The price is great and definitely worth a return trip.

My favorite pizza of all time. Everytime I am in Fitchburg, I need to pick up a pizza at Espresso's for whomever I am visiting... so that I can eat it of course!

The sauce is sweet, which some people don't like, but I loooove it. Lots of gooey cheese and soft crust. Yummmmmy!

I hear the secret ingredient is orange soda!

Great Pizza!!! The real thing....Thin crust, slightly sweet sauce and lots of fresh Mozzarella. This place has been around for so long. I remember skipping gym at my old High School and grabbing a slice or two!!! LOL
The meat pies are a must have, and something you don't see that often at other pizzeria's. Come in and take some home too!!!
     A local favorite for sure!!!

This is my favorite pizza of all time. Though I now live about a thousand miles south in Atlanta, this pizza still takes the cake (or pie rather).

The best part about it is the sweet sauce they use. It's unique to any pizza I've ever had. I probably haven't eaten here in three years or so, but I make it a point to swing by most times I'm home.

If you like sweet sauces, this is the place to go in central Mass.

I make up excuses to come here.  Pretty much, if I am in Fitchburg, it is a good enough reason to get Espresso's pizza!  I can eat one of these babies by myself too, so get your own!

I also love the variety of specialty pizzas they offer, the basil tomato, the taco...  Things I would never let any other pizza place anywhere put on my pie I trust Espresso's to execute perfectly because they do!

As far as I'm concerned, this gem can do no wrong...  Cheers to you Espresso's and all your lovely workin' peeps!

Wicked good pizza that sets itself apart from all the other less-delicious & more generic pizza places out there; I'll go out of my way to get it.

Maybe it's the sauce.  It's sweeter than normal pizza sauces, but not too sweet.  Or maybe it's the cheese.  The perfect amount of cheese.  Or maybe it's the crust.  The thin, just firm enough crust.  Or the toppings.  All I know is that it's really good pizza.

I was very impressed with Espresso's Pizza. Visiting my boyfriends hometown, he has raved about this place ever since we met, and I am happy that I got to try it! I love that their secret ingredient is orange soda, the sauce was fairly sweet but very delicious!

About Espresso Pizza: I think you have to be born in Central MA to really like the pizza. The negative reviews must have been written by outsiders. Espresso is kind of an icon in this town. The original Espresso was lost in a fire. I don't remember the year. And about a bad section of town, I don't think Fitchburg has a good section. The problem is that Mayor Lisa Wong will not turn on the city lights. Oh well.

Espresso Pizza has easily become my most favorite place for pizza.  In particular, the taco pizza rocks.  My partner always gets the hamburg pizza with extra hamburg.  The taco pizza is spicey and spot on.  The secret to Espresso's pizza is that the sauce is sweet.  We owe our dear friends for taking us here and when they visit, we always make it a priority to go to Espresso and down a few pies.  Not in the nicest part of town and the parking lot is even more of a nightmare but if you can get past all of that, you won't be disappointed.

This place is not bad for a local pizzeria. the menu is filled with the usual and the prices are average for a pizza place. but i have to admit the salads are really good here.

Once you acquire a taste for the sweet sauce, this is pretty much the best pizza in Fitchburg!

Espresso pizza has a unique taste that stands out in a town where all the other 20,000 or so identical corner pizza places seem to serve the same gooey soggy vaguely edible product.

I LOVE THE PIZZA. It was not changed over the years that I have gotten it. Even after thet burnt down, it still seizes to amaze me. The pizza is really good with just cheese. You need to tast the cheese and sauce to really get how good it is!!

I give it 3.5, my kid gives it 4.5. I'd say the previous reviews are right on-- I found the sauce noticeably sweeter than average, there was a lot of gooey cheese, and the crust was thin and moderately chewy. Very affordable: lunch for 2 was about $10.

pros: inexpensive, very friendly fast service
    cons: taste.

Great pizza place. I consider it one, if not the, best places to get pizza in the area. The sauce definitely stands out as unique, and very sweet. Seems like this is a love or hate it place. I love it. Their sauce, dough, and cheese just work together so well. The service is good. The people who work at this restaurant are just so friendly and will remember your face if you go in more than once. A good family place to take the kids, too, as they have a big dining area with a couple video games.  They even serve beer and wine. Prices are extremely reasonable as well. The only negative i can think of is the parking lot is rather small and hard to maneuver around because there's always a crowd trying to eat here
