There was craziness going on around the front desk and wasn't sure what to do with myself. Should I sign in? Should I be filling something out? After a while of sitting the in the chair in the waiting area I was asked who I was waiting for. It didn't really inspire confidence that this trip would go well.
Once back in the room things were extremely better. Just the quiet darkened room with peaceful music was enough to get me relaxed. The massage was great and worked out some knots I've had for a week. I left feeling more relaxed than I've felt in a long time. It was worth paying the little extra going here than some of the other options out there. Overall it was a great experience and I'll be going back for sure. -

I came here today with a travelzoo voucher that was for a one hour facial and one hour massage. I had Jaclyn for the facial and Lindsey for the massage. I would have to say that it was definitely not the best facial or massage that I have gotten before.
The rooms are darkened and do have soothing music, but because the walls are pretty thin, you can hear when other doors are opening and closing and also you can hear other people talk as well.
The facial was actually very comfortable, but I like it when they explain what products they are using and why. I was also surprised that she didn't ask me about any allergies before using a pineapple and papaya enzyme scrub because I know many people are allergic to pineapple, and that would have sucked if I was! I think that it should be common practice to always ask about allergies before you try a product on someone's skin!
The massage was average. Lindsey was very good at getting me to relax, but I did check the clock, and it definitely was not the full hour, more like 50 minutes. That is kind of a big deal to me, especially since there are massage places that do explicitly say it is a 50 min massage vs. an hour long massage.
However, I did get a good deal from travelzoo, so I didn't mind the price that I paid for both services. The location is right off of the 94 in Rancho San Diego, so it is really far for me, so I am not likely to come here again especially when I have closer places in Hillcrest that I can go to, but I would recommend it if someone is looking for a relatively inexpensive place in the Rancho San Diego area. -

As far as spas go, Eroma is middle of the road. It's not shabby but it's not top-notch. It's fairly priced for the services provided and considering how expensive spas can be, I don't mind sacrificing soothing new-age ambiance and zesty cucumber water for an overall less-expensive massage or facial.
I agree with others that the level of professionalism by the staff could use some improvement. They're not ass-kissers but I've never been treated rudely by them either. Still, since most of us expect our asses to be kissed just a teensy bit when going to a spa for pampering an relaxation, it comes as no surprise as to why it might rub us the wrong way when we're not greeted with a fanfare.
Overall, a decent place for the prices. -

I had an Almond Oil massage with Lauren, Steam and a Vichy Shower with Alexa. All three services were excellent and relaxing in every way!
Both ladies were very professional and sweet. -

Great find, great prices. My friend gave me a gift certificate to this place which was a nice surprise. Spa is located in a strip mall across from the Target/Rancho San Diego movie theaters. Although the outside is not that exciting, the prices and service was great.
I tried the Body & Mind Relaxer package. I enjoyed Shama which performed my massage she was very sweet and we had great conversation. Their facility is clean and the price is unbeatable. I will definitely come back but most likely try a different package. -

This is my go to spa pampering place. their facials are awesome, i think Ashley was the one i had last time and will definitely request her everytime from now on. the wraps, massages, sauna, staff are excellent. very knowledgable folks.
the wrap is super intense...they wrap you up TIGHTLY (and im not kidding here) in a tin foil cocoon(?) and then leave you for 20 minutes. i had a minor panic attack and an itch on my nose (of course) that there was no way i was getting to. then realizing i couldnt get to it meant i could not move my arm, and i was all alone. once i took a deep breath, no i couldnt take a deep breath i was being suffocated in this damn wrap!! it was an intense 20 minutes, but the results were awesome and almost worth it. -

I found the salon through a groupon. I felt the greeting at the door was not friendly and the staff didn't seem very professional. I had the honey salt glow treatment and I wouldn't recommend it. Probably wouldn't recommend this salon due to the lack of professionalism.

So I had been saving a certificate for a 30 minute steam and 60 minute massage until I really needed it and boy, this was a week that I REALLY needed it. Called in and specifically scheduled a 1 pm appointment with Michelle after seeing her great reviews on Yelp.
I showed up right on time and told the front desk I had a massage at 1 - they looked confused and said "Your massage is at 1:30" followed shortly after by "Oh, you had a steam too...I didn't turn the steam room on let me go do that". So I took a seat and waited. The place doesn't have much ambiance and it did not feel like their focus was on the customer as I wasn't talked to or offered a drink, or anything like that like I am used to at day spas.
I was led back to the changing room and put on a robe that was torn at the sleeve....kind of awkward... and went to my steam. The steam was great and relaxing, except it would have been nice if they had some sort of timer so you would know when the 30 minutes was up instead of an employee knocking on the door and trying to talk loudly over the sounds of the steam room.
My therapist led me to my massage room and I realized that she never said her name so I said "So your name is Michelle?" (the therapist I had scheduled with) and it turns out she was not Michelle. After she checked with the front desk it seemed that there had been a mix up and I was not scheduled with the masseuse I specifically requested. Also let me add that earlier this week someone called to double check the services I was having done...so this had all been confirmed many times.
I was asked if I wanted to reschedule the massage portion, which I was not interested in as I really wanted to experience both together and I am also leaving town this week and would not have time to schedule another appointment. The massage was okay - not the best I've had and not the worst- it was definitely hard to relax after the confusion and disappointment of their booking issues. They did offer me a $5 certificate for my troubles, which I found almost funny because I don't think $5 has ever kept me from booking a massage. I gave it back and told them I would not be returning, and I won't be. Pay a little more money and go to a relaxing, professional, organized spa. -

I've only been here once & it was spur of the moment kind of deal. My husband & I love getting facials (I know that sounds so metro of him, but it's essential for good skin!) & this was the only one who had availability at that particular time we wanted.
I must say, this won't be the last! You can't beat a 60minute facial for $55! That was super amazing for me & our wallet! They also offer other things such as massages, hair cuts, mani/pedi, etc. and the prices are pretty reasonable. The people were really nice as well! -

I just got my hair cut today from Steven and I'm still reeling over the shock of how good I look! I've never stuck with one hair dresser my entire life because a) they made my hair uglier than when I came in and/or b) the prices I paid was not worth the service I got. So you can see why I would be hesitant to cut my hair.
When I came in for my appointment I was immediately greeted by the clerk and Steven and then ushered into a room in the back. I didn't really have anything in mind for my hair cut and vaguely said I wanted edgy hair without using any products. Steven spent half an hour with me looking at photos, giving me critiques and opinions on what he thought would flatter me the most. When we finally decided on something, he shampooed and conditioned my hair with the most fragrant scent which I totally love. Then he started cutting and creating a master piece, all the while talking to me and making me feel so comfortable. Guess how much I was charged? 20 bucks! What a huge bargain!
Pro:
Steven gave me a consultation, shampoo and condition, a stunning hair cut, and an enjoyable time for $20
They offer everything here (steam room, massages, wraps, mani, pedi, facials, hair cuts, waxing, and even lunch!)
Conveniently next to Cuyamaca college
Easy parking
Cons
um... can't think of any yet :] -

I just went last week and it was AMAZING. I had Michelle and she was so great. I had the thirty mins of steam and the hour massage. The steam room time is intense. I was super glad when I was finally able to get out. However, it felt amazing after. The massage was the best one I have ever had. She actually worked out my tights spots and spent time on my troubled spots. My ma had her and recommended Michelle to me. When I brought my ma up, Michelle knew exactly who I was talking about and even remembered all what they talked about. I think what I love most is the fact that she didn't chase me out, asking for me to schedule another appointment. Every other massage I have been to did this, pressuring me for another time next week. Michelle is my go to girl now for massages.

A one hour facial, steam room, body wrap and scrub with vicchy shower AND an hour massage for only $159? Yes please! Started a new position and with a lot of traveling I did recently, I was in the mood for a nice pamper me day. As always, I went to Yelp to look for a good spa out in east county, as I didn't really want to drive anywhere. The receptionist was very helpful, and extra props for being able to fit me in at the last minute (I called the day before). Eroma is tucked away behind some other businesses, and from the outside, you wouldn't think it held much. They took me back for my first treatment a little late, probably 10 minutes after 2. I had my own steam room, which could've probably been better if there was a little bit more steam. The body scrub and wrap was next. I really liked the body scrub, and I wish that could've been done longer. I was in the wrap for what seemed like an eternity, and I think the last 10 minutes, I was getting really antsy and wanted to get out.
My massage was next, and I had to dry up really well after the scrub and wrap. It was really relaxing, the massage therapist did a great job at getting me relaxed, she focused on all the trouble spots that I told her about. The facial was last, and that's the one I was a little nervous about because I have never had one before and I was worried about my skin reacting. I found the facial to also be completely relaxing as well. The enzyme scrub she used was the one thing that made me uncomfortable and want to scratch at my skin, but luckily it didn't last very long. It would've been better if she explained each thing she was doing and what she used, since I did tell her it was my first time getting a facial. Some of the products I would've wanted to buy. At the end of this amazing 4 hour treatment, my skin felt so smooth and I was very relaxed. I was very pleased with everything. -

ok, so WOW.
Uh, yeah, wow.
I am a complete spa snob. I have walked out of spas that were dirty, or had unlicensed people working, anything that gives me a bad vibe and I am outta there...
The spa has been t here for over 10 years. It was clean. It smelled like disinfectant- it smelled clean.
I was greeted, had a seat and was then was lead to a locker room. Changed into a spa wrap and robe. Herbal (wet) steam- 30 minutes was 1st. It was great. Very purifying!
Then I had a salt glow and a mud wrap- it was in a wet room with a vichy shower. Again very clean, very professional staff. During the wrap she checked on me a few times, but I zonked out and was asleep almost right away!
Next was the hydrotub- 30 minutes in a spa that was a little bigger than a bath tub with 300 jets- it was heaven.
Then the massage (which was ok, not the best, but not the worst). The pressure was just right, but all she did was Effluerage (long stokes, no kneading or tappotment). It was more like having someone rub oil on me. The oil she used was GREAT- it had a light rose scent. Finally, I had a facial.
The esthetician left the room so I could get settled in, and I snuck a peek at the products. I have very sensitive skin and fragrances and smells bother me, and a lot of artificial fillers used in cheap products redden my skin.
Most everything smelled very perfumey, chemically, icky. Everything had parabens. The packaging looked cheap. The stuff I smelled smelled cheap. I told the estheticin I had super sensitive skin (which I do) and that I couldn't take anything with articificial scents. She rummaged around and found some BB stuff that would fit the bill. The products she used were good- no icky smells, good texture, and were effective The facial was great, great hands, good touch. She used, HF, gavlanic, and gave me a great scalp massage. Her touch during the extractions was the best I've ever had.
Overall- I would recommend the spa for the "spa" treatments, and the facial would have been better if the products were a little higher quality.
Sorry for the typos.
I am going to arrange a spa day there for some of my girlfriend at the end of January.
I had all of those treatments for $240- which is a BARGIN for spas in San Diego. -

Eroma and I have had a long, good relationship over many years.
This is my go-to place for spa treatments like a mud wrap, salt glow, or a massage when I feel like treating myself. And the only place I go when I need waxing or a facial. I would recommend Elena for waxing and Shama for massage. These ladies have been helping me out for years!
Prices for treatments are reasonable and the products they use are made especially for them and are available for purchase.
They have many spa packages to choose from, so you can't go wrong giving one a try.The Escape to the Sea treatment is very relaxing! -

Went there as there was a "Groupon Now" coupon. Was able to schedule massage appointment only a few hours later. Decent massage, not the best, but not the worst. I tend to like deep tissue, this seems like a place that would be great for those that like a more relaxing massage..

Good place for facials. Got several massages but I still prefer other places. I paid for a sports massage and ended up getting a regular massage from the therapist. Was not too happy but over all they are good with facials. They also have good facial products.

I went here because I saw Shawna's great massage reviews and I definitely wasn't disappointed. She made me feel really comfortable, and is definitely a very talented masseuse. She did a great job targeting my problems and when I left I felt like I was cured of my back and neck pain. 5 stars, and will definitely return. Thanks Shawna!

I love this spa! This is the first spa I've been to and I don't plan on checking out any others yet due to their awesome prices and their super friendly staff! It's really nice inside the rooms and they have so many! I doubt anyone ever has problems with booking. Go to Tina for facials and Shama as your massage therapist. They're so awesome!

The good news is that Eroma is conveniently located in Rancho San Diego and it's easy to get an appointment. The massage therapist Susanna is outstanding, and the price is right.
The bad news is that the spa rooms are very basic, the sounds from the weight room adjacent to the facility destroy the tranquility of a massage session, and the linens retain the oil from years of use, so that they don't smell fresh, even though they are laundered. A good spa smells heavenly, because the oils, creams, and chemicals are high quality. ERoma implies aromatherapy. The spa smells musty.
The management should be aware of these complaints--they've been voiced many times over the years. A little investment in the spa would go a long way to maintaining a loyal clientele. -

I came here on a Thursday afternoon for a massage and steam. I got there about 15 minutes early and was sitting in the chairs ready to go with plenty of time for my appointment. Somehow, despite my punctuality, they managed to start the massage about 10 minutes late. When I got back to my locker after the massage I noticed that they hadn't given me my full hour. If I'm late, I totally expect you to dock my time. When I'm 15 minutes early and you're late...not okay! After my massage I was taken to the steam room. I was given a cup of water and told that someone would check on my shortly. No one ever did. It would have been great to have a water refill since I had just had a massage and was now sitting in a steam room. Overall, the massage was good despite the shortened time and the steam was nice but the decor is downright awful. At time I felt like I was in a college student's bathroom. The floor mats are dirty and mismatched and the one chair in the "locker room" was a stained folding chair that looked like it belonged in the waiting room of a free clinic. I am glad that I had one of those coupon things (I think http://thedailysave.com) and didn't pay full price. I will never be going back.

I thought this place was great. They are super friendly and their prices are very manageable. I've been to a few spas where they were a little snobby, but the staff here at ERoma always make sure to greet you with a smile and try to make you feel comfortable. The first time I found this place I was only looking for a massage, and Shawna did such a great job with the Hot Stone massage that I immediately started making plans to come back and try some of their packages. I've been back twice since, and have brought 3 others to enjoy them as well. It looks small from the outside, but they have plenty of rooms, and its all very peaceful and serene there. It's been very clean, and smelled nice each time I've been there as well. The reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wish they had fluffier and bigger robes! The robes they have are on the small side so if you're a little on the fluffy side, they don't close properly and constrict the arms and back. Otherwise though, this place is really awesome and I recommend it to anyone!!!
