"Great sandwich! Had the roast beef and jalapeno jack on crunchy sourdough roll and seriously, I have no complaints. Huge sando, great…" read more »
I came in today and had the "Raging Bull" sandwich with beef stew soup. I came in at 12pm and there was no line. My food was given promptly.
The soup was good but it was clearly not fresh. It was likely made one or more days ago. It wasn't bad, but I kinda like my food to be made recently.
The Raging Bull was an absolute train-wreck. Roast beef, chili peppers, pepper jack cheese, peppered onion roll, "Erik's Secret Goo", red onions, tomatoes, sprouts. My god, it's like eating a kid's science experiment.
I like my food to be simple: a few ingredients with natural flavor. My ideal roast beef sandwich is made of roast beef, bread, and a single slice of cheese. You can't possibly know you're eating a roast beef sandwich when your palate is being bombarded by a mishmash of clashing flavors. The "Secret Goo" isn't all that secret, it's mayonnaise and does not belong on a roast beef sandwich. Nasty!
The roast beef was one of the lowest quality cuts of meat I've had in a long time. It was obviously not fresh. It seemed to be processed beef and tasted like it was cooked by boiling in water. It had no flavor and a mushy texture. I don't expect prime rib at a fast food cafe, but really, processed boiled mush meat? What are you trying to do, kill me?
This was a toss-up between one and two stars. Ultimately, their style of food (tons of ingredients, no flavor) just doesn't appeal to me. I give it two stars since the soup tasted OK and the service was fast and friendly. I might go back here for the soup.

Abbot's Habit is YUM, though i can't discriminate. i pretty much love all their sandwiches, especially the warm ones.
Ambiance? if i could, i would have only taken out half a star for that. it's pretty tiny in here, and you can tell it's been at that location for a while. The one in Milpitas is pretty new and clean, but the sandwiches still taste just as good.
Just don't come here during the lunch rush or you may be waiting in line outside.
I haven't eaten at one of these places in years. It's still the same as I remember. This location is clean, nice folks behind the counter, and decent food. I go with what I know--the natural high, a warm sandwich with avocado and melted cheese in pita bread, or the del monte with avocado and cheese on nine grain bread.
I don't like this one as much as the one all the way in Aptos only because they were more stingy on the turkey. Gotta love that white meat! (hah...)
The staff is friendly. I came on a late lunch during the week and there weren't that many people in so no rush (that could however explain the extra care).
It looks the same as any Erik's Delicafe, I suppose. Those metal picks, bullhorns type decorations, wooden picnic tables, and old school glass jars.
Love their combos! Cute names for sandwiches as well.
BUT some of the sandwiches can be a calorie trap! 800 calories for a sandwich?! Ahhh!
9 Grain wheat is very delish :)

I used to work with a super picky eater and this is one of the few places he'd go eat. As a person who likes variety I always end up getting the same thing here, the Raging Bull, clam chowder and a banana bread. My gripe is even though this seems like a lot of food, I'm generally hungry soon if I don't load up. Good for a quick, solid meal, but the portions could be bigger.

Zero stars, I got MASSIVE food poisoning from here, went to school right after, lets just say I was running in and out of my lecture class :(
I ate the turkey sandwich with the "goo" well the "goo" made me ill.
I am continually impressed with the quality of Erik's food. The excellence is consistent with every location I've visited. If you want a hearty meal of sandwiches or soup, this is the place to go. It was a bit crowded at lunch, and the seating isn't great, but the food is, and that's really what matters.
