Erik's is a great lunch place to eat. I probably come here about once a week with my coworkers since it's close and a favorite of ours. The food is relatively cheaper than most sandwich places, and it comes out fast. The old country western kitsch decor on the walls makes this place unique.
Erik's offers a variety of sandwiches, soups, and salads. For soups, I find that you can't go wrong with the Tomato Bisque or Vegetarian Vegetable. Any of their sandwiches are good fare too.
This is also the only place I know of where they give you a mason jar to fill your drinks in. The first time I got mine, I wondered where the fruit jam was.
I always thought that Erik's was a cute little cafe in Cupertino. Imagine my surprise when I found out that it was everywhere!
I usually get their Pilgrim's Progress sandwich but I've also tried their half sandwich and half soup/salad combos. Last time I tried their new shrimp wrap and that was pretty good as well.
Yay Erik's!
Tuna melt lovers need not stop in.
NO choice of bread, just a regular roll with cheddar cheese that was not melted and the normal produce. Cold bread and not even toasted, I wasn't even given a choice of bread. Not worth the $8 I paid included a bag of chips. I'm sure there are good soups and sandwiches here but Eric's should do themselves a favor and do away with the Tuna melt, its hurting there reputation.
yum yum yum, i love Erik's DeliCafe. I still remember the first time I had it years ago when I was little, and has loved it ever since. Decided to go for lunch today with the boyfriend, as he had never tried it. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this place had great service and all of the staff was very organized... we got our meals really fast and our food was on our table even before we finished filling up our drink cups.
Today, I tried one of their new sandwiches - the vegetarian rustica - roasted veggies on ciabatta bread - very good. and i ordered the combo with the penne pasta, which was also very good and very tasty. the bf ordered the raging bull, and liked his sandwich a lot too.
with our meal , we got a couple of $1.00 off coupons, so i'll come back soon. great sandwiches. this location made a better impression on me than the couple of other locations i've been to (milpitas, gilroy, almaden expwy)
I LOOOOOOVVEEEEE Erik's Deli Cafe! My boyfriend and I love sandwiches, and this has been, by far, the best sandwich deli we have been to in the San Jose/Campbell area.
The service is fast and the employees are friendly. The sandwiches, once again, are absolutely delicious! My favorite is Abbott's Habit! I get it every time we come here.
I love that they take phone orders! For those busy lunch days. :D
Happy eating!
P.S. They do cater.
Mmmm. Came here for lunch w/ some friends and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken pesto sandwich is amaaaza-zing. I got a tomato basil soup with mine, but didn't really care much for that part.
Forgetting the $5 footlong for an Erik's Deli sandwich is something you will NOT regret. Quote me on that, bro.
This is world class sandwiches and soups, period. I grew up with Erik's in fact, the first one and I hail from Scotts Valley, CA. The taste is fresh, healthy and consistent. I get an REO Speedwagon 8 of 10 times on average and have yet to be disappointed. The square meal (opting for both soup or salad + sandwich) is a given. For $7.45 you get a full sandwich and bowl of soup both quality, and sometimes prepared so fast you get it before you even get your change.
For the lunch under $10 category, this is as good as it gets. Plus they offer senior discounts, meaning I can take grandma here!
Nice deli with great selection of sandwiches and salads. Quick service, and a nice atmosphere to have your meal. Prices are very reasonable.
Worth a stop to check out.

Eric's serves the standard fair. It is clean and the dining area is more than acceptable.… Read more »
Not bad. They whisk those sandwiches out of there before you even know they're ready!
I will agree with Eric L.'s pricing though, for such a small simple meal, I didn't expect the $9 price tag.
They do also have some nice shaded outdoor seating.
It's all about the Holiday Sandwich! Only available from November - January, it's sooo good. Warmed turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and Erik's goo - it's Thanksgiving on a roll. I look forward to it every year.
I usually get the square meal, since Erik's chili is really tasty. Their sandwiches are fresh made and great quality. I like the Abbot's Habit too, it's yummy. They are happy to swap breads or condiments and such with no hassle too.
This location is pretty quiet at night, so that makes it pretty stress-free and a relaxed place to come for dinner. Also make sure to ask for a discount punch card. All Erik's locations have a western / rustic theme going on - so there's always interesting things to see on the wall.
My goal for 2009 is to try places in SJ I hadn't gone yet. So I started on my 2009 goal a little early, but I don't think I will be coming back here.
The fact that we were the only ones in here at 5 on a Sunday should have been some clue. The decorations were cute, I loved the wooden walls and the old stove in the middle of the room. Even though we were the only ones there, when we walked in there was 3 dirty tables and two girls behind the counter doing nothing.
My boyfriend ordered the REO Speedwagon (Smoked ham, turkey, monterey jack cheese, and sprouts on sliced sourdough), and I wanted the clam chowder in a bread bowl. They were out of the bread bowels, so I settled for just a regular bowl and a slice of pumpkin bread. Our food was ready in 2 minutes! I love that the cups for soda are chilled mason jars, that added a nice touch but I guess it was to make up for the crappy food! The soup had no taste, NONE. Yea it was full of yummy clam bits, and potatos chunks, but it didn't taste like either of those. Hot milk would've had more flavor. I finally pushed it away after 3 bites and said I wasn't eating anymore. It didn't even come with the crackers the menu said it would. Boo! I ate my pumpkin bread which was moist and had a good flavor but I found it odd that in the one inch thick slice there was one ONE walnut. Like somehow that walnut accidently got in there. The boyfriend liked his sandwhich, even though it had sprouts which he normally doesn't like. He enjoyed the horseradish mayo they used. We pretty much sholved our food down and left. I'm going to have to eat again later since just pumpkin bread for dinner won't do it. =(
Erik's Deli serves decent sized and yummy sandwiches for around $5.00 or so and there is a variety of sandwiches available for you to choose from. I liked the Pot Belly sandwich on whole wheat.
I usually go there for lunch if I want a good sandwich. The service is pretty good as you don't have to wait too long. Seating is available inside and outside the restaurant. I like how they serve drinks in jars rather than regular glasses. Kind of cute.
REO Speedwagon!!! Not the band, the sandwich! Although I suggest getting it on the pita.
Love Erik's and having a location in Campbell is perfect. They are great with ToGo orders, always getting it right.
Between me and my co-workers we've all tried a variety of the sandwiches, chips, soups and drinks. Never once have we been disappointed. Plus they have Sarsaparilla soda.
Perfect place for a fresh, filling lunch.
I tend not to like a lot of chain restaurants, but Erik's is a good place for a well-priced, fresh-tasting sandwich. I've been to the Cupertino branch numerous times, the Gilroy outpost while shopping at the Outlets, and the other day I tried this Erik's in Campbell.
I usually order the same thing and it's reliably good at all three locations-- the Turkey Walnut Pesto sandwich. I always get it with no onions because I can't handle having raw onion breath for the remainder of my day. The service at all three locations is very efficient. By the time you've paid for your sandwich, it's practically in your hands.
This used to be a once-a-month lunch spot for me during my days at eBay. I like the soup and half-sandwich combo. The breads are very fresh, and they have a great 9-grain bread for sandwiches. I like the pot-belly sandwich which has lean and fresh pastrami with turkey. The service is fast, and the food is fresh.
Their lean pastrami is the best!!! chicken pesto and turkey pesto sandwiches are good too! I love that they give you a mason jar for your drinks like Pizza Chicago. Good quality meats and breads!
All i can say is yummmmm! The sandwiches are ridiculously good. I got the Eriks Cruzin Club & the BF got the chicken pesto. They were both grubbin! I'm a big sandwich person and these were so fresh and the bread was soft and fluffly just like I like it. We also tried the tomato basil bisque soup and it was really good as well. Overall I really enjoyed this place and will definitely be coming back.
These guys are the real deal. Started nearby in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Erik's makes sandwiches yummy and fast. Even at their busiest, they usually have the sandwich done by the time you pay for it, and if not, they bring it out to your table. Their soups are incredible too. Go for the Half Sandwich Combo and get both!
I worked about a block from Erik's Deli for five years, during which time it was a staple for many of my colleagues. I wasn't a serious regular as many of them were, but I would stop in every month or two for one of the decent sandwiches that they offer up both FAST and at an imminently reasonable price. Erik's also seem to have been one of the West Coast pioneers of serving drinks in mason jars -- a fun element of kitch if nothing else.
I just tried their Pilgrim's Progress Sandwich and let me tell you it was oh soo good. I usually get the Abbott's Habit sandwich and that one is superexcellente also. Get the half sandwich and side salad combo and it will fill you up goood. You'll find an Erik's Delicafe allover the Bay Area. Jeck 'em out!!
Second Erik's Deli that I've frequent in the last month. This time I went for the sandwich and soup combination...which was very filling. I had the clam chower, which was kind of a funky color, but tasted delicious. Had the Seadog again, but it seems that half a sandwich was just perfect with the soup. Good place for a sandwich. Lemonade was good. Decor was old west theme, though not too much. But we're here for the yummy sandwiches.
akh, their stuff is healthy and all i guess but man it tastes like es eich eye tee. for our office lunch i ordered the clam chowder soup because i despise their sandwiches. i also don't like sprouts and they put it in everything! even when i take them out still their stuff don't taste good.
Pretty good selection of sandwiches with good fast service. Can't really go wrong for lunch here. It'll run you about $9.00-$10.00 a meal though.
GREEEAAAT SERVICE! if you go in there and there happens to be a line, don't be intimidated because they move REALLY fast! they have such yummy sandwiches. . i get the r.e.o. its so good.
so good...
1 - the line moves really fast - they have a deal where it's free if you're not through the line in 10 mins (i think..double check if they still do it)
2 - there is lots of seating, including some nice outdoor tables. good for groups
3 - the drinks come in jelly jars - so cute!
4 - during lunch, the same man is always there - i think he's the owner.
5 - the food tastes fresh and healthy
6 - you can call ahead with your order. I've never done it, but there's a separate line for picking up those orders.
I almost always get the natural high (veggie sandwich with avocado, sunflower seeds, mayo). But, I also enjoy the sweet liberty (turkey, red pepper, hot mustard).
I like their natural high sandwich. The dining room is clean and generally the service is nice.
My very favorite sandwich shop in the whole entire world. I've tried most of the sandwiches on the menu but the one I keep going back to 9.9 times out of 10 is the Abbott's Habit (heated roast beef and mushrooms and Swiss cheese on a French roll). To. Die. For. Second favorite is the Pilgrim's Progress, with tons of avocado and turkey on 9-grain bread. I think it must be the 'secret goo' they use that makes these sandwiches so delicious and addictive, and the fact that you feel good after eating here as they are healthy. This place just gets it right.
their tuna fish sandwiches are pretty good. the best thing about erik's is the drinks come in jelly jars!
