I highly recommend Erika. I moved to the Bay area a year ago and was hoping to find an acupuncturist to develop a relationship with, and Erika has proven to be an excellent practitioner who has helped me a lot. She is not only highly-skilled and very knowledgeable, she is also kind, gentle and genuinely interested in designing the best treatment plan to help you attain balance in your health. Her approach is one of deep listening and careful, understandable explanations. Her goal is to provide you with self-knowledge and her gentle guidance and advice in using Chinese herbs and adjusting diet and lifestyle, also make her a truly holistic healer.

I'll keep it brief: Erika changed my life.

29 years ago, I had a nasty accident that left with with stiff joints and chronic low-back pain. In the last year, it had gotten worse, so I'd pretty much stopped exercising. It even hurt to walk.

I'd tried acupuncture in the past, but got no relief. Then I read about Erika on Yelp, and decided OK, I'll give it one last chance. And, well... "Wow!"

In one session with her, she seemed to unlock my joints. She listened to my problems, asked a lot of questions, then  went to work. To be honest, I probably would have forgotten about my visit except for one thing: The next day, I felt great. Very flexible all over. The pain in my hips and lower back lifted. Friends and people at work commented on it.

    I run! I skip! I dance! I move like a cheetah!

I know I'm starting to sound like an infomercial, so I'll stop. But this woman understands acupuncture. She's my personal miracle-worker, and she gave my life back to me. If you have joint pain, check her out! BaySix has a pricing special for new clients.

I must say that I have grown addicted to acupuncture.  Ms. Lessey Chen has been a wonderful help with my allergies, sports injuries, and my acid reflux (gone).  I don't go regularly as now I only need to go during the springtime when my allergies flare up.  She's been great at making sure I have my Chinese herbs to help with my allergies, and she's willing to meet me when I have an allergy attack.  When I had acid reflux issues, she administered acupuncture about 3 times, gave me herbs, and I was back on track in a few weeks.  I was worried that I was going to have acid reflux for the rest of my life.

In addition to having such great success as a doctor, she has the best bedside manner ever!  You can see it in the way that she cares about her patients and the expertise she exhibits.  Sometimes I want to get acupuncture just to see her warm smile.

Erika is a really great practitioner.  She has a great aura about her, very calming, and she is very thorough in her questioning and evaluation.  Her treatments are terrific and my neck feels a heck of a lot better after a few treatments, let me tell ya.

Not too mention you always seem to walk out with some kind of little herb deal or patch in your bag for the road.  Check her out, you will not be disappointed.

I had never seen an acupuncturist before seeing Erika Chen, and really didn't know what it was all about. I randomly read somewhere about someone who had been able to overcome their sugar cravings through acupunture, and decided to give it a try, since sugar cravings have been a lifelong problem for me. Honestly, I was FLOORED with the results, it was like a light switch had been flipped for me, and I just lost the desire for sugary treats. SInce seeing Erica I actually lost 10 pounds since I'm no longer eating all the candy bars and baked goods. I highly recommend her services!

Erika's treatments are, without a doubt, the best hour of my week.   Over the past few years she has helped me in so many ways.  My chronic pain, grief, anxiety, menstrual problems, headaches, even cold and flus have all been soothed by Erika's nurturing treatments.   She's very gentle and compassionate, so if you are scared of needles or just unsure about getting acupuncture, Erika is the person to see!  I feel so lucky to have Erika in my life, and I know if you see her, you'll feel the same!

Who would of thunk sticking needles in you could be so beneficial, but I have always had great results with my accupuncture sessions with Erica.  If you are seeking an effective, comfortable, professional service that won't leave a big hole in your pocket book, I highly recommend her.  She has a very holistic approach, and even in her facial rejuvenation sessions, which is like an anti-aging  accupuncture  facial, she considers the whole body and gives you herbs to take home! 5 stars

i had never done acupuncture before but had always paid attention to my body and bloodflow and stretching and muscles because i am into multiple sports.  so finally i went to see what i could learn.

erika surprised me because, in contrast to a typical "doctor's office" visit, she wanted to know the details of my health, about my health habits, and where i felt certain imbalances existed in my body (muscles, bones, tightness, etc); the visit wasn't predicated on time, in other words, perhaps a first in my experience.

aside from that i felt like finally here was a field of knowledge and medicine that i could identify with, even though i've always relied and continue to rely partly on western or scientific medicine.  i had realizations about my body and exercising and energy movement which i had intuited unconsciously through earlier experiences, and now could fit as pieces in a larger picture of mind-body.  i noticed differences when running hills immediately (working the energy through my torso when running helped limit tightness when running and afterwards).

then i blew (dislocated) my shoulder in a fall off a wall, ripping part of the front of one ligament and also scraping cartilage off the back of the ball part of the bone.  i did that on a tuesday and went in for treatment with erika on sunday, we did cupping (which i hadn't done before) and tried to replenish the wounded area with fresh blood.  (that's something to mention:  treatment goes beyond needles)

(already too) long story short, i saw erika another 3 or 4 times before i had surgery 6 weeks after the dislocation.  this was huge.  i felt great mentally and physically going into surgery, that i had accomplished a lot of preliminary mending in those interim weeks largely through acupuncture, and that i would be able to recover well from surgical realignment.

i recovered really well from surgery, and saw erika several days later.  we did different things, focusing primarily on building blood and using moxa, and over the next six weeks i saw her once a week to continue complementing the rehab regimen assigned by my surgeon.  i wouldn't have wanted to go without it.

yes, that's how i would characterize acupuncture for me:  complementary with more straightforward exercise and good nutrition.  it offers things i can't get from a science-trained doctor, the treatment is more wholistic in many ways because it emphasizes building your ability to control and direct and summon and dispell your energy depending on what you are doing/have been through that week or that month in your life.  the sessions make me feel like i've reestablished some equilibrium after pushing myself hard in different directions.  for anyone with an open mind who is looking to develop awareness between different aspects of your body and mind, i cannot recommend erika enough.
