okay, so if you regularly read my reviews, you'll see that im one of those koreans who actually goes to doctors. regularly. growing up, my parents went against the grain and hooked themselves up with a great health and dental insurance plan and actually went to see the doctor regularly. most asian imports don't like to do that.

but i digress.
i have a serious back issue. i have degenerative disc disease and scoliosis, and every once in a blue moon, i'll do something that causes my back to hurt me enough so that i can hardly walk. such was the case this weekend, when i realized that i was in so much pain that i could hardly walk.
on monday morning, i didn't go to work, and called almost every doctor on my insurance web site.  numerous orthopedists who couldn't get me an appointment immediately referred me to Dr. Erasmus, a neurosurgeon who specializes in back issues.
i called the office, and the nice lady who answered the phone told me that he wouldn't be available to see me until August 23rd. i told her that i might die if i had to wait that long, and she promptly asked to call me back to see if she could get me an appointment that day, while i had the time to come in.
she called me back and allowed me to come in that afternoon.
dr. erasmus and his staff were amazingly sweet and empathetic to my situation. while i have seen a number of orthopedists, chiroprators, and doctors for this condition, none of them were able to explain my condition to me as well as dr. erasmus. he took the time to explain the triggers of this back pain, as well as the things that i should avoid doing (running, pilates, heavy lifting), and then prescribed me medications that would help me in the meantime.

while that may seem like something that every doctor SHOULD do, its actually rare that they'll stay in the room with you without their hand on the door, ready to leave to see their next patient.

if you are looking for a doctor who knows his stuff and who can help you with a back injury, call dr. erasmus. he has a great demeanor and will make you feel like you are in the best of hands.
