I have a small poem I would like to share:

Roses are red,
Violets are blue
Equilibria is perfection.

the end.

So, I've been a little stressed...as you can see from my sorry attempt at sarcastic poetic humor. Luckily, Mr. Right thought so too, and sent me here for an afternoon of pampering.

Maybe the lavender scented massage oil greased this review - or maybe I'm still giddy that my crush would know EXACTLY what I needed (guys - take notes. Girls love massages like you love Bill Simmons, The Halo Series, and Pizza...COMBINED.)

But this was the most relaxing, most satisfying, and most effective massage that I have ever received. 4 days later and I'm still enjoying the results! The room was warm and comfortable, and I echo those exact sentiments for my therapist, Jen.

Although I didn't dish out any moola of my own - I will certainly be making this a regular thing. (Really? Only $55 for 45 minutes of bliss?)

...And they do offer couples massages...maybe (if I could get up the guts to share my nearly 3-year secret crush with him) I could pay Mr. Right back..without having to indulge him in a rousing game of Halo 3, while reading excerpts of The Sports Guy and feeding him pizza...cause that sounds about as good as my poem.

I normally don't give out 5 stars, but I was impressed with Equilibria!

I needed to get some relief for a chronic neck issue and it was close to 4th of July, so tough to book a spot. I found Equilibria through Yelp and was able to get in very quickly.

It's easy to find (right on NW23rd) and the place itself is very homey and relaxing. A lot of thought and care went into the details and setting of each room.

Jen, the owner, was able to help work out my knots. The whole experience was so relaxing. Very professional service and I feel so much better.

Would definitely tell friends to check this place out!

I worked somewhere close to 50 hours in 3 days. I went to yoga, and was too stiff to move. UGH!  What to do?

With very little spare time left in my day, I ran to my computer, jumped on Yelp, and typed in "short notice massage".

Magically, Equilibria popped up, and within an hour and 15 minutes, I was on the table getting one of the better deep tissue massages of my life from Lauren.

I feel a million times better.  Especially now that I know I have a place to turn to when I need quick service and great massage... and I used to get weekly massage, and have some training in bodywork, so yes, I know what a good massage is.  This was a fabulous, thoughtful, DEEP tissue massage. WOO HOO!

I bought a gift certificate for my boyfriend and I to have a couples massage. They didn't ask us what kind we wanted, but I'm pretty sure we got Swedish. It involved a lot of deep pressure and long strokes.

This was my first massage. For the price (!) and reputation, I was expecting something incredible. It was just good. It felt nice, but I wasn't very close to melting into a puddle of bliss.  There's no way I'd pay that much again for it, because I feel confident that most people could give just as good a massage after taking one class.

Maybe people translate this as feeling incredible because nobody ever gives them a massage normally. My dad's an aikido sensei and growing up I got accustomed to him randomly massaging the shoulders of my brother and I (shiatsu?). I didn't feel like the Equilibria women worked so much to ease tension as to make us feel nice for a while. The next morning, I didn't notice any lasting effect. Next time I'll just give the massage myself!

I have had chronic back pain for as long as I can remember.  I saw Nicole last week on Tuesday. Wednesday I woke for the first time without pain.
The staff was amazing and managed to get me in the same day. They are open late and even on weekends. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a great massage for a decent price.

This would have been a purrrrrfect massage.. I fell asleep, my therapist was attentive to my needs. Specifically I was having a TMJ isuue, but after my session, about 10 minutes after I left, I had jaw pain that lasted for 2 weeks. Maybe it was something I did, maybe something she did, but that pain made it hurt to yawn. Granted I didn't call back to say anything, maybe I should have. Regardless, I can't see myself going back. And the parking is *execrable*.

Mind-melting wonderfulness. No over the top frills, just really really great massage work in a peaceful and beautiful environment.

I've been seeing the owner, Jen, for about 5 years now and I have never in my life had better massage therapy. I've been able to see over the years how she has developed the business into a much larger and full scale bodywork center and it keeps getting better. I tell anyone I can to go here - it really is a retreat - you would never know you're right off 23rd. The only downside is the appalling parking situation that can make you stressed right before your scheduled relaxation.

Shortly after I first moved to Portland, I had an incredible pain in my hip that would not go away. Lacking any recommendations from friends, I was desperate and began calling massage places from google  at random. Equilibria was able to fit me in the same day. I was suspicious, because I thought maybe their schedule wasn't full because they weren't any good, but I was so wrong. Ease of getting an appointment is just one of their many pluses. I've had massages all over the country, and the massages that I received from Laurel at Equilibria are hands down (get it?) the best. I like an extreme amount of pressure, and often leave massages feeling disappointed, but Laurel is incredibly strong. I leave feeling like I've had a medical procedure done. It's amazing. She's versatile and can do light pressure if you prefer. I can't recommend her enough. I've also had massages there from Jen K, who is great as well.
