So yes, it is pricey here, but I'd say not more pricey than really high-end boutiquey grocery stores in other cities (Zabar's in NYC or the Ferry Building shops in SF are comparable)....but the food selection was top notch. Everything is beautifully displayed (shrimp stacked in pyramids, etc) and delicious looking. They have a huge selection of bottled soups made by their deli that were amazing looking and a large selection of health and kosher food. The flowers were also beautiful and fresh looking. They have indoor and outdoor eating areas and a nice coffee bar...

nice bakery--sample some of their offerings -- it's good!
notice they got the black and white cookies.
don't come here for routine items, but go for something special like their cheese section.

Two stars for price
Two stars for grocery store
Four stars for quality
Four stars for products
Five stars for gourmet market
This should not be treated as a grocery store at all. But a gourmet market. And gourmet products tend to be pricey, especially in Miami where most of the produce and products come from a land far far away!
For example, a fruit preserve from Italy - they have numerous brands of these... and they look good, but expect to shell more than $20 dollars for a tiny bottle! But then again... think of it as a perfect foodie present, or for a special occasion rather than something you can have everyday.
And besides it being a good place for foodie "souvenirs," it's also good for prepared foods, cheese, pies and sweets.
But I do agree that it's overpriced, because even the store brands were overpriced - and those store brand products should definitely be cheaper!
Parking is behind the storefront. Go around the block!
I have to agree with other reviews that Epicure is priced high. I used to live on the beach and would shop there for their great selection of cheeses - particularly French cheeses, and my favorite Goat cheese. I also liked them for a time for their wine selection, but I've since found comparable selections closer to my current home. I also used to like the fact that they had harder-to-find niche items like truffle oils. But now there are more options in Miami for finding these items.

As gourmet food stores go, Epicure Market doesn't have all that wide of a selection. The prepared food items aren't especially exciting yet astronomically priced!!!
Customer service is o-k and the layout of the store is a bit confusing, as it is difficult to find what you're looking for and a chore trying to navigate the aisles during peak hours.
Worthwhile if you're shopping for a delicious dessert, that's about it.
I agree with other reviewers, this place needs to re-evaluate their prices. Seriously, $9 for a jar of Borscht??? That's what I call chutzpah!
Oy-vay...
Epicure is the established gourmet market for folks on South Beach. It's well known for its delicious cakes, my coworkers pick'em up for someone's birthday or send-off. Really surprising cause they're a grocery store, even if a high-end one at that. They also have a small eat-in area that was packed during lunch time.
It's right off Alton/Lincoln Rd across the movie theater and has been serving folks premium groceries for a long time. For convenience, Epicure offers service and goods that's a walk away for most action on the beach. Disregard the previous reviewer below, who goes to a gourmet market for non-alcoholic beverages? Craziness.

Expensive!!!!! I work across the street from the place and they have food to go. I went there several times to buy lunch and even the food was good I end up paying like I was eating (and served) on a very good restaurant on Lincoln Rd. This place needs to lower their prices.
OK...yes, good...but, overpriced. However, it has served me well at last-minute runs when company is coming,,,their bakery is wonderful.
But if you want pasta, chips, avoid the temptation to buy them here.
The Staff is attentive and helpful. The meat area is very good...but remember...expensive.
As much as I like the idea of having a natural foods market nearby, I was really disappointed by this place. Everything is pretty much half again what I would expect to pay for it. We went to pick up 3 items from their liquor store, beer, and non-alcoholic wine and non-alcoholic beer. I'd think a progressive store like this would stock the non-alcoholic versions, but I was severely disappointed, they didn't have a single brand of either of those. They did have beer, but sold them only as singles, which meant a six pack would have cost me over $10 -- for one I'd have paid $7 for or if I was lucky maybe $6. When we asked their suit-wearing staff person, he contritely explained something about City Code and dismissed our requests for more diverse products.
Well, the good news is there was a liquor store directly across Alton Road, not half a block to the north! They had everything I was looking for, multiple brands of non-alcoholic beer, and regular beer for a normal price.
So, sorry Epicure, you need to get off your high horse and get with the market.
