I needed to get a major work done on my 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe. I've been victimized by shady mechanics and car dealership services before so I wanted to do some homework before I shelled out my hard earned money to get work done. I luckily found Eugene on Yelp.
Eugene has a real passion for his work and he is a true craftsman when it comes to what he delivers you. He tells you exactly what services you need and explains to you in detail if you have any questions.
I feel very comfortable talking to him and he doesn't give off the I want all your money vibe I get from talking to other service mechanics I have before. Not only did Eugene service my car's mechanical needs he also fixed my electrical switch problem on my seat where the dealership wanted me to shell out $2K for a new seat just to get a switch fixed on my seat.
The cherry on top was that he provided a loaner car to me as the work he needed to do on my car took several days to complete.
I highly recommend Eugene and will be telling my friends and family about his work. Thanks Eugene!
I found Eugene both on Yelp and by word of mouth from a friend.
I bought a set of OEM G35 Brembos from Eugene, had them re-powdercoated elsewhere, and then returnded to Eugene to get them installed, along with new rotors and brake pads. From start to finish, Eugene's attention to detail was apparent and his knowledge of Infinitis was second to none. Eugene follows the factory service manual to the T, as well. He indexed my new rotors to make sure that lateral runout was in spec, minimizing the potential for brake shudder and ensuring the longest possible life of my new upgrades (most mechanics and dealerships don't perform this step). Since the rear shields were being swapped, we also took the opportunity to replace both the parking brake shoes and wheel bearings as a form of preventative maintenance, both of which Eugene had in stock at his shop. He also re-adjusted my parking brake and fixed my slight axle click noise by performing Infiniti's technical service bulletin (the previous shop didn't do a good job, so the axle click had come back). The final step was bleeding the brakes, followed by a quick test drive.
After telling Eugene that the brake pedal felt softer than normal, he invited me back a week later to re-bleed the brakes, which firmed up the pedal feel; since the car was already up on the lift, he also performed an oil change for me as well, making sure to torque my oil cooler down, which can sometimes come loose (I had no idea that was part of a normal oil change).
Eugene's shop is well organized and so clean that you could eat off the shop floor, and he'll most likely have the maintenance parts you need in stock. If not, they're only a phone call away.
To sum it all up, Eugene is the man. If need arises in the future with something I can't do myself, I will certainly return to Eugene. He is both honest and thorough, qualities which are hard to find in mechanics these days. If you need work done and care about your Infiniti, don't think twice; take it to Eugene.
Eugene was so easy to work with. He's great at communicating, whether it be by text or email and is extremely accommodating with his schedule. I have a ridiculous school and work schedule, but he did not mind me coming past 8 PM to drop off/pick up my car. He constantly updated me and sent me pictures of everything that was going on (not that I really understood it, haha). He really tried his hardest to explain everything to me so that I knew what was going on with my car and what he was fixing. You can tell he is devoted to servicing Infinitis.. and I will never go anywhere else to fix my car.
His setup is also really cool and his service is worth driving all the way to Concord for.
Eugene is amazing. Got brake pads changed and drive belts tightened, but he spent the first 20 minutes just doing an inspection and pointing out all flaws....things that needed to be addressed immediately and stuff that could wait. Shop is clean and he's super professional. Not going to another mechanic or shop in the Bay Area after this service.
Awesome Mechanic! I had few problems (Noise from the front, Brake noise on reverse) with my Infiniti G37 that the Infiniti service / local mechanics were unable to fix. I found him on MYG37 forum and booked an appointment the same evening. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and did a multi-point inspection and figured out the reason for both the issues. He ordered the parts the next day and I requested him to do the 60K service also. He did a great job and his prices are definitely cheaper than the Infiniti service department! I have recommended him to all my friends/co-workers who drive Infiniti/Nissan. I normally don't write Yelp reviews but he definitely deserves the credit. Thanks Eugene! I will be back for any car issues and future service.
I read everyone's reviews, and they're amazingly all true. Eugene's attention to detail is just killer. I've never met a mechanic quite like him. If you own an Infiniti and need it serviced, get yourself to Concord immediately.
A true master of his craft.
Eugene is really accommodating with his schedule. We started late in the evening and worked way too late. The reason it took so long was because Eugene found a lot of issues with my car created by previous shops that are actually safety hazards. I came here to get bushings replaced on my lower control arm. 6 hours ago I had no idea what a bushing was. Now I saw four installed.
Once he popped the hood to my 350z, he notices the power steering is overfilled. He fixes that right away. Then he notices the battery isn't seated correctly. It is missing screws, clips, and it isn't even the right size battery! I don't know anything about cars. I didn't even know where my battery was. Eugene cut a bolt to the right size and fixed it to the best of his ability. Now the battery doesn't wobble and is less likely to short.
Then I forget why, but he starts checking the brakes. Apparently my calipers were installed incorrectly by Wheel Works. The right caliper was on the left and left was on the right. WTF. But there were other problems. I just spent $210 on Sunday to get new brake pads installed. They were not done correctly. Grease was in the wrong place, wrong kind of grease was used, old hardware was installed, rubber gasket things (don't know the name) was not installed correctly, it was only 2 days and brakes were making crunching noises. It was a mess. So Eugene took them apart and fixed them to the best of his ability. There is only so much you can do w/o just replacing the whole damn thing. Eugene was upset that brakes were done so horribly by two shops. He was more upset than me.
He basically went through the whole car and like rattled off a list of all the things wrong w/ it. Good stuff to know. But very depressing as well.
After all that, we finally get to the reason I actually went there in the first place. Replace bushing on the front lower control arm. He did it w/ no problem.
It was fun spending time with Eugene and watching him work on my car. He taught me a lot today about cars. He is a really nice guy. And extremely smart. He knows a lot about cars & is willing to share his knowledge. He is a great teacher. If you ask him a question, he responds with these in depth answers that you don't really expect. His prices are awesome. He is very trustworthy. And he is slowly bringing my 350z back to life.
The only bad thing about meeting Eugene and having him fix your car is you wish you met him sooner. It is a horrible sinking depressing feeling.
There is actually more good things I can say about my experience today. But I need to wake up in 2.5 hours to go to work.
Eugene is the man! I have a 07 G35 Sedan with the VQ35HR engine. I decided to clean my throttle body and it started revving by itself hunting for its idle position. This is a common problem with the car and usually the only way to fix it is to go to the dealership and flash the ECM (Engine Control Module) to the updated Version C (I have Version A on my car currently which has terrible Idle Air Relearn Parameters). Eugene had heard about this problem and like a true engineer he wanted to figure out why and how to fix it cheaper. We worked on the car till 1AM trying different things. With the final solution, I left and drove the car a couple hundred miles and finally my car is idling at spec (600RPM). Thanks Eugene!
Met Eugene in a parking lot. He saw me, saw my Infiniti and walked up to introduce himself. He handed me his card and said he worked on Infiniti's. I held onto the card and didn't need him for a while. Before I became a customer, I referred a friend to him. That friend was very pleased with the service and the price.
A few months ago, I had a need and took my FX35 into Eugene and I will be using him going forward. He is very detail oriented and meticulous in his work and explanation of what needs to be done. Ultimately, he walked me through my needs, a diagnostic inspection and a couple of manufacturer maintenance items/recalls.
He was upfront with the cost, made recommendations when asked and it was a great overall experience. If you have an Infiniti - give Eugene a shot to become your mechanic. You will be pleased.
My boyfriend and I recently purchased an 06 g35, and before purchasing the car, my boyfriend called Eugene to ask a million and one questions. Eugene was honest and genuinely answered every single question my bf had.
After we made the purchased, we brought it over to him to fully check it out. We also recently did a 90k maintenance. I was not present at the time of that service, but my bf says from the time he dropped off the car (2:30pm) Eugene worked on our car until 8pm.

Eugene is a unicorn: a mechanic who is honest, fair, AND thorough. You're lucky if you get ONE of those in a typical mechanic these days. I found him through a Google search that led me to this Yelp page, and I'm so glad I found him.
He initially impressed me by taking my call -- on a Saturday -- and spending 45 minutes on the phone with me about my Infiniti G35. He emailed me an estimate a short while later and we booked a service appointment. He happily talked me through everything going on with my car (and it was a LOT) in a kind, professional, and (here's that word again) thorough manner that gave me every confidence my car was in good hands.
Eugene ended up saving me thousands compared to what the stealership quoted me, and he did better work using better, upgraded parts (where applicable) to boot. I don't live close to Eugene's shop, but it's worth the trip. My car will be cared for by him exclusively for the duration of the time I own it.
I've had Eugene work on my 2008 EX35 multiple times and its alway been an amazing experience.
He is honest, patient, and truly cares about taking good care of your car. He has a lot of knowledge and will tell you how it is, without ever charging you for things you don't actually need.
Eugene is friendly, knowledgeable, down-to-earth and has high attention to detail. Fortunately, we found him on yelp to help fix the grinding noise when braking. Antioch nissan failed to diagnose the problem earlier this year when they supposedly gave me the all clear on my braking system. Eugene performs the job right the first time around. He is very thorough and methodical. We have two Nissans that will require his future attention. ;)
The brake noise is gone and I feel we have a safe car again. He went the extra mile to clean the braking components which I have never seen any dealership service perform. He really takes pride in his work.
Great service honesty comes first earned it eugene checked my transmission fluid level and did an inspection toped it off and and gave me a transmission dip stick because my g35 didn't come with it I was calling around and it was $75-$100 at the dealer and other places plus the bad service they give you at this places,ugene took care of my care thanks.
My 06 g35 sedan is my baby, and Eugene has passed the test. I will be bringing him all my future business in the future and recommend him to others. He has the patience to teach you any DIY lessons, as well as the patience to sift through your car and find things that need to be changed and things that can wait for the next appointment. I had my rear brakes and drive belts replaced. His attention to detail is unparalleled by any other mechanic i've used in my life. He was able to walk me through everything he was working on, as well as make small minor modifications to other parts that would need servicing soon. He also offers incredibly competitive rates, and for the service I'd gladly pay it. Looking forward to the next appointment!

I was very impressed with Eugene's thoroughness for my 60,000 mile Infiniti FX35 service. He fixed my brakes as well doing a great job replacing the bushing in the rear differential, which would have cost twice as much at a dealer. He provided us a loaner car and was expeditious in his service.
I would recommend Eugene to anyone who is seeking a trusted auto mechanic.
Eugene is a lifesaver. I was given his contact info from a referral at work and decided to give him a call when my 60k maintenance came up. Not only did he thoroughly explain all the issues that needed repair, he continued to keep me updated and checked in with me daily in regards to the repairs that were done. He has a loaner car that he provided which saved me from getting a rental. Eugene not only completed my 60k check up, he also discovered that my tires were running on metal threads as they had worn through on the inside. Needless to say I immediately attempted to fix this issue. I will never take my Infiniti elsewhere to be repaired and have even considered buying an Infiniti as my next car so I don't lose him. It is nearly impossible to find a mechanic these days that won't simply rip you off and more importantly will take care things correctly. He is an honest and truly enthusiastic master of his field. It's rare to meet someone so committed and passionate.
My 2005 G35x needed a 120,000 mile service badly and I was so frustrated because I couldn't find a mechanic that I can trust. Luckily, I found Eugene and he solved all my problems. Now, my G35x looks like going for another 120,000 miles!
Eugene not only does a superb job but also has a very reasonable price. He will take all the time needed to explain things to you, more than you like to hear/know. He pays attention to every single details and makes recommendation to you, something I have never experienced in any other auto shops.
From now on, I am just going to forget about all other shops and will have all my 3 cars be serviced by him, even though I have to drive from north San Jose to Concord. It totally worth it.
Last but not the least, Eugene has an assistant and his name is Michael. He is equally good!

I opened my personal garage to all forum members to help them do maintenance, modifications and repairs. Since then, I have turned my hobby into a successful mobile auto repair business, with a focus on outstanding customer service and education. In 2010, my beloved G35 was totaled and today its successor is a 2011 G37 Sedan, 6MT.
