7 reviews for Enrico's Italian Restaurant
I'll chime in with the majority here in praise of Enrico's. Incredibly cheese-laden Italian food--in a good way. As Christen mentioned, the "make your pasta" bit is wonderful. Try the Gorgonzola sauce! Nom nom nom.
The interior is kind of kitschy, but again, in a good way. It's cozy, somewhat dark and, yes, romantic.
This is not the place to come if you're looking for a light bite. Prepare to roll yourself to your car. But, that said, if you're gonna do it, do it right: fast all day beforehand, then chow down on the bread, salad, fabulous entree (I really, really recommend the pasta!) and a yummy dessert. Toss back some heady red wine while you're at it, too.
This was a great place. To bad it's closed. Anyone know what happened or where they went?
IT IS CLOSED ... There were bills attached to their door.
Best Italian in Indy and one of my favorites in town overall. Locally owned, chef is the owner and his wife is a server. They got married in the restaurant! Recently expanded space too.
Recommended: pesto tortellini, and salad with the vinaigrette instead of the creamy house dressing.
Sorta hard to find - look for LA Fitness on Keystone - it's behind them. From 62nd St, Hillside a tiny street is just west of the entrance for Sparkling Image car wash, just west of Keystone.
Enrico's is the perfect (and my favorite) Italian restaurant. it appears to be a tiny, sketchy dive from the outside...which makes the experience even better when you first walk in. It's the only place outside Italy where the Chef is the owner (and humbly comes to meet you whenever possible), the house chianti is always already on the table, and the lacquered brick creates a romantic ambiance with the feel of a wine cellar of an old palazzo.
The most famous dish is a baked cannelloni stuffed with chicken and sausage, smothered in a creamy tomato sauce, and topped with melted cheeses. Even the bread tastes miraculous and an unexpected sorbet course cleanses the palate for what's next.
If you go during busy hours you'll need a reservation and may have to park down the street...but I've always been luck enough to have the place almost entirely to myself.
Can't believe I haven't yelped Enrico's before. Excellent food, great service and just a fantastic dining experience. Looks like a hole in the wall from the outside and I think that's part of the charm. It was great before the owenership change and has only gotten better since.
One of my all time favorite restaurants and easily my favorite Italian restaurant in Indianapolis. I make a point to eat at Enrico's every time I'm home from school on break and it is always excellent. I love the make your own pasta options and the chef is really nice about making changes if you don't like something. Every time I go, I can't believe this place doesn't have a line around the door. My boyfriend likes to refer to it as the closest you can get to a real Italian restaurant outside of Italy and the staff is a lot nicer! :)
