Emily-Jane = well designed, hand crafted and locally made jewelry. They use vintage swarovski crystals and other stones and will whip something up in a heartbeat if they don't have exactly what you want.
I was contracted by the amazing owner for a one day job and was able to meet the entire staff, including their cute little intern Sophie. All the staff members are SO nice, helpful and friendly. I felt like part of the team.
They have a great selection of beautiful and girlie pieces as well as tough and flirty looking pieces. In addition to the jewelry, they also carry a select line of locally made handbags in bright metallic leather. You can even pick up a pair of cowboy boots to complete that Boho tough girl look. Oh so fun!
I would recommend this store for anyone who likes hand made jewelry with a bit of an edge. Yes, some things here are very expensive but they are well-made with high quality materials. There is also a nice selection of less expensive pieces that are still unique and well-crafted.
I went in one day looking for a pair of earrings for a gift and I couldn't find anything that was just right. Instead, an employee listened to what I wanted and made the earrings for me on the spot, all for less than $40. What more could you ask for?
Super cute shop! First of all, the offer of champagne as you browse is lovely. All the jewelry there is beautiful, albeit not inexpensive. But it's made by the local artists, so ya know, you're supporting. They also offer to fashion new pieces from costume and heirloom pieces you bring in, love that. This place will definitely be on my list of places to visit when I'm back in Portland
After my girlfriend Lee's experience, I've been thinking and thinking about when I might return to Emily Jane for my own fabulous experience. We both wanted wedding jewelry, and after choosing a dress at last, I stopped in on a whim to see what was in store. After the ever-welcome offer of champagne to shop with, I wasn't finding much. However, the girls at Emily Jane felt no loss whatsoever, digging out an amazingly beautiful stone from a drawer of supplies and draping it with stunning silver chains. It was exactly what I was thinking of, only better. They are making the necklace for me now and I can go back to be sure I like it when it is done. Emily Jane is everything you want from a local business, and if you live in Portland and want to "green" your wedding, stop by and shop local. You will not regret it, from the minute you open the front door.
I have nothing but great things to say about this local jewelry store. From the offering of a glass of champagne when you walk through the door to the superior service, Emily-Jane is hands down my favorite place to look for unique, hand crafted jewelry. My girlfriend and I went by on a whim looking for jewelry ideas for both of our wedding dresses. I ended up picking out a great necklace that I normally wouldn't have gone for and when asked about my earring choices, I was at a loss. They insisted on making me three different pairs of earrings, of which I could chose from and come back and try on with the dress. When told that I no longer lived in Portland, they didn't bat an eye and told me they would send all three to me in California and I could pick out which one I wanted and send the other two back to them. Now that's customer service!
