Sometimes my decision to have pizza for lunch is accompanied with a groan because I feel I should be eating healthier.  My stomach usually wins that battle with my brain and I am wolfing down oily, cheesy slices with sausage to satisfy the urge.  That is why I felt a lot better about walking into Emilio's in Manalapan.  The first sign I saw was a lunch special that included a salad, a slice and a coke for $5.75.  

I have to tell you that is the ultimate comprise when it comes to placating my vegetable discriminating stomach and my cholesterol patrolling brain.  

I substituted the plain slice for a grandma slice which is just as good but has more sauce and less cheese than the American staple that is the plain cheese slice.  The salad was pretty good too.  Of course they didn't have fat free dressing but like a good marriage their needs to be concessions on both sides.  All in all, Emilios left me feeling good about my waist line and happy to be eating a little risque.
