So you're in Morris Park and you're craving for that good slice of New York Pizza. Emilio's is the place to go if you want to indulge yourself. They have a wide variety of different slices and the pizza is consistently good. The cheese has a good texture that's thick, stringy, and cohesive, even if it is pasteurized mozzarella. One thing that makes Emilio's so good is it's sauce, which sometimes I wonder if there's a hint of MSG or something in it, because after I eat their pizza, I find myself extremely thirsty. They have a wide range of toppings - from your typical pepperoni and mushrooms to spinach, pasta, vodka sauce, chicken, ricotta, and hot sauce. Plus they have specialty pizzas that come in slices so you can try out the different flavors they offer. The crust is just the right thickness and texture resembling your typical NY slice - foldable but not too thin and has it's own flavor.
They also serve other dishes that are popular fare in the Morris Park area (calzones, pasta, mozzarella sticks, croquettes.)
They're great for catering and can handle large orders for parties and meetings. The location itself has some seating but won't win any awards for aesthetic appeal or a sparkling bald Mr. Clean trophy. The service is always friendly and they're willing to help out and give discounts for large orders. One noticeable drawback is the price. Emilio's is about 4-7 dollars more expensive per pie than the other pizza restaurants in the area (averaging 20 bucks for a specialty pie). Also, slice pricing is ghastly expensive and can reach close to 5 dollars on some varieties. Recently, they've raised everything on the menu about 1 or 2 dollars. But heck, they can do it because locals keep coming back.
(edit 4/25/08) i wrote this review back in August and since that time, Emilio's has risen its prices. A large specialty pie now averages 25 bucks and 1 slice is 5 dollars. The pizza is still good, and I know the cost of fuel is playing a number of cheese and food costs, but at this rate, Emilio's will be costing $30 a pie next year, which is way faster than inflation. Because of this, I'm removing one star from 3 to 2.
