Are you too effing hollywood to be bothered touching your own soiled chonies?  Is doing laundry cutting into your precious drinking time?  Have we got a solution for you!  At $1/lb, Emil Laundry offers a solid value for all your dirty, filthy needs.

Thanks to Jeremy T for pointing this place out.  I'm new to Fluff and Fold, but let me tell you it rocks!!!  If you're the kind of person that has no idea how to fold clothes properly or just doesn't give a shit, but also wants to get laid at some point in your life so the look of wrinkles on all of your clothes just scream how lazy you are...then this is the place for you.  Formerly before Fluff and Fold and during times when I don't have a girlfriend (see if wrinkles are on my clothes to determine) I would just dump my clean laundry on the couch in my bedroom and would pick from it what I needed.  Now that I have the nice Asian couple at Emil Laundry, I don't have to look homeless anymore.  You might say...wait a minute...you always shit on hipsters for looking homeless.  Well yes I do, but the difference is that they TRY as hard as they can to look homeless.  I just don't give a shit and am super lazy.  There in lies the difference.  Also, hipsters would never be caught dead in a t-shirt and cargo pants...which is my standard attire.  Also they would never dye their hair highlighter yellow like I did while I was back in TX.  All of this being said...Emil Laundry rocks!  Get your fluff on...

This review is specifically centered on the Fluff n' Fold portion of the Emil Laundry, although this is a coin laundry business.  It's worth it to me to pay a little extra  to have someone else do it, and especially when it is done this well.

If it weren't for the slightly informal nature of the Emil Laundry, I would rate it the full five stars.  I sometimes have to work long hours and sometimes up to seven days a week for several weeks at a time.  During times like these a Fluff n' Fold business is a lifesaver.  When I moved to Valley Village, one of the first things I did was look for a laundry that provided FnF nearby.  I found a lot of locations that were charging $1.50-$2.00 per pound, which was double what I was used to paying.  So the Emil Laundry got my laundry solely for reasons of price, at the time it was only $.95/lb (it has since gone up a nickel).

The first time I got my laundry back, I was impressed before I even opened the bag.  Everything was folded and packed as lovingly as my school lunch in middle school.  I have since been back about 8 times, and it is always folded with just as much care and precision.  She washes the clothes in the same machines that customers use, and she even separates the whites and colors, unlike the previous FnF I used in Hollywood who used an industrial machine to do everything at once.

The couple who run the laundry are extremely nice, and my clothes are usually ready for pickup at the end of the day if I drop off around 8pm, but if she is especially busy it can take up until the next afternoon.  For me this is never a problem and she always tells you when you drop off how long it will take.  If your clothes need to be clean on a strict schedule, it might be worth paying more somewhere else.  That said, I certainly can't imagine finding anyone who will take as much care, at any price.

The laundry is cash-only, but they do have an ATM on location.  They do not offer Dry Cleaning, but there is a Neo-Geo MVS arcade stand-up.
