This cute little nursery packs a lot of interesting, out of the ordinary plants into their lot.  They can be relied upon for an excellent selection of outdoor plants, house plants and advice about both.  They also carry seeds & supplies.  I've been gardening for nine years and this is my favorite nursery in the whole city.  I love City People's, too, but they don't have as many utter surprises in their stock---though they have a great stock!

I used to shop here all the time when I lived in the neighborhood, starting back when it was Fremont Gardens. To this day, even though we are way south in White Center, I do the zip up 99 in order to shop here.

The people are nice, they will let you know when stuff you want comes in, the cat rules, and they always have a solid selection of healthy, interesting plants that thrive in the Northwest. I have multiple plants in our yard from Emerald City Gardens, and they are doing really well. They are all lovely and unusual and we get a lot of compliments on everything we've bought here.

I just moved here and needed help with climate conditions.  I got friendly, straightforward answers, the plants are super healthy, and they were great prices, better than what you find at mega-stores (I've been window shopping for weeks, so I've done my research).  Plus I didn't want to shoot myself in the head when leaving the parking lot, like I always do when I go to Lowe's or Home Depot.  That is a definite bonus.

Wow....how have I not shopped here before? I'm an avid gardener and do not buy from big box stores ( you get what you pay or).  I drove by so many times and finally stopped by.  Wow.  I'm so impressed with the selection but also the prices.  And, the owner is knowledgeable and willing to help me find what I need.  I'm making a trip tomorrow and can't wait!

These folks rock! They are incredibly sweet, and knowledgeable and they obviously love what they do. They keep a nice selection of plants, both indoor and outdoor.  They usually get shipments around Wednesday if you want to catch the new goods.

Also, a great place to pick up a variety of scented geraniums (!!). Seeds and bulbs are also available, as well as a few nice tools and gifts.

I am more than happy to spend my money here to support this local business.

I'm bummed that I've waited until today to shop here.  I should have made the bulk of my summer gardening purchases here.

I was searching all over Ballard and Fremont for some freaking tomato cages.  God bless google maps on my blackberry.  Anyway, this was the 4th place I tried.  It's a totally tiny, adorable little place off of Leary way.

My first impression was how much diverse, high quality gardening supplies and plants were in this little space.  The guy who helped me, who I can only assume is the owner was able to help me out immediately and not only pointed me to my desired cages, but told me about why they have the square ones, and how easy they will be to use again next year.  Bonus:  he said they work really well for peas.

I saw something about a frequent buyer program, I plan to join.  They also have a resident kitty who is cute and grey and whom I desperately wanted to make friends with.

Before I walked into this place, the only thing I knew about plants were that rabbits ate them, and sometimes I would find it on my plate next to my steak.
Being a bachelor I decided to domesticate myself with a little green.
Jay & Andy were very helpful, they recommended some plants that fit my lifestyle, and level of potential care. I've had some great little cactus plants now for several months and they are still alive which is huge! I also brought in a hand blown glass bowl that they were able to pair with a beautiful palm tree and even planted it for me.
They are a great place for the veteran Gardener or the novice looking to church up their pad.

I bought 12 small plants for my co-workers when we did an office move a few months ago.  The staff at Emerald City Gardens were absolutely fantastic in helping me pick out plants that would do well without a ton of light, and a little bit of neglect.  All of our plants have held up nicely and are still incredibly healthy and happy, despite some of the odd planting containers we've used (empty coffee pot anyone?)  Their plant selection is great, their plants are all healthy and happy, and the staff is a lot of fun to chit chat with.  On top of that their prices are right in line with the sickly unhappy plants you can buy at any grocery store.  Great business!

I went to Emeral City Gardens to find a few plants to add pizzaz to my patio. Having recently relocated from Indiana, it seemed liked a strange notiion to buy outdoor plants in December but everything is still so green and lush here! The owner (and kitty meow meow) were very helpful and we picked out a nice palm tree (YIPPEE!!) and an evergreen dwarf. I was admiring a deep purple colored Kale who had seen better days but still was quite pretty and he told me I could just "adopt it". Seriously? Something for free? Unheard of. Anyways...I highly recommend coming to this quaint adorable garden boutique and taking home a little green friend.

Another one of my favorite places to shop for plants. I would say about 75% of my indoor plants have come from here.Whenever I go in, there is always something new that catches my eye. Each and every plant is taken care of, healthy and in good shape. I got two, a mini and a big, Norfolk Island Pine from here and AH!!!, probably one of my favorite plants ever. I don't go to the outdoor plants much, because the indoor ones are so amazing to look at!!
Jay and Andy are two super cool dudes who care a lot about plants as well as me (the customer) They are always willing to talk and they give great tips, as well as stopping what their working on to help me with any questions I might have. I also signed up for their frequent buyers card and I'm looking forward to getting the e-mails : )
So...yeah. Go here. It's great, I'm sure you'll walk out with a smile on your face--I always do!

The owners of this nursery are fantastic. So knowledgable and friendly and willing to share gardening tips even if you don't always buy something. They have a LOVELY variety of affordable indoor house plants too.

This is a new business in the old Fremont Gardens location.  You'll find friendly service from owners who live in the neighborhood and really know plants!  Whatever your project - big or small, Jay and Andy will be able to help you out.
