Embody Health is the place for results driven and energetic fitness and fat loss workout programs in Kirkland that include motivation, accountability and dynamic resistance training; all designed to get you the body that you want in a safe, fun and non-intimidating atmosphere. Every workout session is led by an experienced, certified personal trainer and is designed to be fun, supportive and challenging, while burning maximum fat, in minimum time. Personalization is key to getting the best possible results, which is why our workout programs are modified to fit your goals and individual fitness level. But unlike working one-on-one with a personal trainer, our workout programs are done in a group setting which makes them fun, motivating and challenging AND it keeps the cost of the program affordable compared to private one-on-one personal training sessions.

Never went to Gym more than a week and this place made me break my record ;) I signed up for membership and have been regular for 2 months now! I think it is very convenient, best part is that it is just 30minutes into your work day and you can do longer sessions over the weekend. Best instructor for me, I would say will be Aaron, he really pushes you and watches your postures. I really enjoyed yoga with Denis on Sundays as I am not in mood for heavy lifting on a Sunday! I wish yoga happens more often, late evening on workdays or early morning before work. Embody has great deals every month. I will definitely update review at membership renewal ;)

Honestly one of the most efficient boot-camps I've seen. As a young engineering professional, my life is pretty crazy (running from site to site, travelling all over the country, making sure I can take night time calls, making time for family/friends, etc...). I was just so sick of being unhealthy after doing this for 3 years that I decided to join Embody Health. In college I had gained 10+ lbs and for the monthly price and 30min sessions, I decided "what do I have to lose? I'll just wake up 15min earlier and go to bed 15min later and that'll be my 30min of workout."
Fitness became part of my life thanks to Embody Health. I ended up going almost every weekday, reserving the weekends for recovery and travel. The trainers (all of them) are superb in their own way and make sure you make the most of your 30min at the gym. If you're not executing to your 110% potential (controlled by proper form first), the trainers will motivate you to get there.
Fast forward 2 years and I had lost over 25lbs and felt stronger and healthier in my day-to-day. Sadly, I had to move away from the area for my job, but I think I'll miss Embody the most from the Kirkland area. I still itch to workout everyday thanks to Embody Health and their trainers. Sign up for this, get motivated, discipline yourself to go whenever possible, and you'll see the results you want; thank me later!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Krissy G.Kirkland, WA0101Nov 10, 2018
Reviewing on behalf of my husband:
Been going to this gym for over a year. Early morning workouts are a great way to start the day, and there is a good mix of trainers and workouts. I feel stronger than I have since college!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Laine C.Seattle, WA1202921Feb 19, 2020
I love this place! Small spot, quick and efficient workout, coffee is just a block away for after the workout, and the instructors are awesome! I'm so glad I found this gem. The workouts are always so different and keeps me working hard on muscles I didn't know i had!

I've been a member of Embody Health for over 3 years and I've loved it from the start. I enjoy the environment, the trainers and the members who are at all levels. They have a 30 minute boot camp style workout which works especially well with my busy schedule. I can get to the gym, work out, and back within an hour. The focus is on health and strength and the trainers always make sure you're performing the exercises in the right form to get the most benefit as well as to prevent injury. I love Embody Health and would recommend you come try it for yourself.

Impressed. Exemplary ownership. Josh takes action for customer satisfaction.
Just wow.
I went to the third class of the day today and I was pleasantly surprised to find that even though it was raining outside, and many people had come before me, the mats were much cleaner than normal! Given that everyone would obviously be scampering (or trudging) in mud and dirt from outside because of the weather, I would say the mats were darned near sparkling. It appears that the type of mat that is used (which has great traction for jumping, etc), would naturally retain more dirt than other mats, so I decided I would update my review anyway before seeing this change... BUT, then I went to class and found that the owner took action! After seeing the cleaner mats, I was actually excited to update my review as soon as I got home!
Then I realized that Josh took action beyond the mats:
As class was coming to a close, I went to wipe down my mat and saw that the spray-cleaner bottle and "sump towel" had disappeared! In its place were individual anti-bacterial wipes! Much cleaner.
I also have to give a shout-out to the instructor, Lisa. She always leads a high-energy class with a smile and the utmost enthusiasm. Today, she had a full class and the added challenge of someone's shoulder being uncooperative in the middle of our workout. She tended to the person with great care, whilst still running the class! She didn't miss a beat!
Again. Impressive. Five stars now. Absolutely.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0Jun 10, 2014Previous reviewI would love to give Embody Health (EH) five stars, but it comes just short of that mark for me so far. Here's the 'skinny' on what I've experienced and observed so far.
First, the positives:
The owner is kind, knowledgeable, patient, understanding, and appears to possess both a mind for business and a heart for customer service. This is an unusual combination to find in one human being, so not only do I recognize this as a rare gem to be revered, I will not allow the not-so-good stuff to overshadow these facts... at least not by more than one star.
The trainers seem very passionate about what they do, and they're willing to help.
The program is solid. Thirty minutes for a class that will beat you up (in an amazing way) if you put forth the effort. Additionally, the class is different every single day, there are numerous options starting as early as 5:30am, and if you opt for semi-private lessons, they change up the routine even more! I don't know about you, but I have serious exercise ADD and bore easily. That's a horrible combination if you have a trainer that makes you go through a set routine, based on the day of the week (arms day, legs day, etc.) That issue does not exist at EH and it's one of the main reasons this place has a huge thumbs up from me!
With that said, if I were only comparing EH to other gyms, fitness centers, and sports complexes within a 10 mile radius, I would give them five stars without hesitation.
However, I am giving my four star rating based upon my past experience with other fitness centers and clinics, which has dictated present expectations; My standards haven't really been met in the following areas, but not to the extreme that I would cancel my membership or believe my health was in danger:
The first issue I have with EH is sanitization of equipment and floors. This is where EH falls short by just a few hairs, if you catch my drift. I have now complained to three different trainers about the cleanliness of the floors and I only saw one take action by vacuuming (not sufficient action, IMO, but at least it was something). When I worked for a dojo, we had to mop the floors and mats AFTER EVERY CLASS. No exceptions. People sweat, shed, track in dirt (and dog feces), and yet the floors are left full of hair and many other not-so-visible bacteria and germs, which the next class is laying in and putting their hands in (there is a lot of floor work at EH, in the form of push-ups, crunches, mountain-climbers, etc.).
Additionally, they have mats, but everyone uses the same rag to clean each mat all day long, and depending on the patron, the mats may not be sprayed at all before they're returned to the storage area. Frankly, I'm tired of being covered in other people's hair and getting disgusted by odors/sweat/other remnants from the last class. I try really hard to not pay attention, but I think I may be just too big of a germ-a-phobe, hence the removal of one star.
A final very minor complaint I have is that the instructors single out people who may be slower or not as able as the rest of the class. They seem to think this helps (they're not doing it spitefully or with ill-intent), but they fail to realize that most people in that situation don't want that kind of attention. It's embarrassing. Work out the issues away from the attention of the rest of the class... shifting the class's attention to someone who is struggling and then cheering them on like they're a young child can feel patronizing and condescending. The trainers should be more aware of the fine line between helpful encouragement and unwanted attention...just my two cents.
So...I used a Groupon to test out EH, then decided to become a member, even after noticing the lower standards of sanitization... I haven't gotten sick and I don't put my hands near my face until after I come home and wash them thoroughly... I suppose this would be the case with any gym, but there's really no good excuse for a floor being that dirty, especially when I'm attending the first class of the day and notice it.
Overall, Josh (the owner) makes up for the deficiencies and it's also obvious that things tend to run more smoothly when he's around. One session with Josh and you'll be hooked (like I was). He not only cares about your fitness, he also cares about nutrition and your personal well-being. - Trisha C.Kirkland, WA05Jun 16, 2019
Embody is like my second home! The people and trainers are very welcoming and the workouts are challenging and affective in only 30 minutes. I'm able to get in, workout, and get on with my day! I used to spend hours in a gym doing my own routine with little results and a lot of frustration, but once I become an Embody member I got all the results I was seeking only in 1/4 of the time! Trainers Dawn (& manager), Aaron, Denise, John, and Merryl are motivating, help with form, provide modifications if you need them, and challenge you to do just a bit more! I am so glad I found Embody and wouldn't want to workout anywhere else!!

There are million options available at home or in a gym, but there isn't anything to make you workout everyday. I think this is first time I saw anybody with a concept of 30 mins workout. Others will say it is less and why people wanna pay for it but it is meant for everyday workout. They really work on your core! If you are reading this review please let me know if you want to join!

So I've been coming here for almost a month and a half now and wow is all I can really say. I've been pretty active for the past 4 years off and on and recently in the past couple months fell off the wagon. Luckily I found this place. It is amazing and the trainers and staff are amazing. The workouts are only 30 minutes but you're getting a full body workout and leave there knowing that you actually accomplished something. With that being said this place is for all levels I believe. Whether you're just working out for the first time or have been working out for your whole life, it can be done. I've definitely seen results in just a month and I have to thank everyone at Embody for that. I definitely will continue to come here as long as possible. The place is very clean as well. Thank you to all the staff for being so supportive and helping us all get in the best shape possible!

Found this gem on Groupon, for a pretty sweet price. Had my first session yesterday, and holy cow did it kick my butt! Having done the INSANITY workouts and previous circuit training, I thought this would be cake. But I quickly realized how out of shape I was! Josh, was very nice and knowledgable! Actually, all the staff there is. I was struggling with feeling light headed, and Lisa was very understanding and helpful.
This workout is set for your own pace. As there is a wide range of people and their fitness levels. Form over reps. The people in the class are super helpful too! It is a great team atmosphere. Once my Groupon runs out, I will continue with a membership. 30 minutes is nothing time wise, but when you leave you definitely feel the burn!
If you're hesitant, try just one class. It's going to be hard, and you're going to have to push yourself. But it's WORTH IT!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
