6 reviews for Embassy Suites Temecula Valley Wine Country
This Embassy Suites is a little old, and not the high rise newer styles you will find in some suburbs.
It is conveniently located, near the shopping mall off Rancho California, and near the Temecula Duck Pond. A lot of food and shopping choices just a block away. And I am not talking about Peking Duck.
The bulding is a low rise 3 story complex, with a decidely Wine theme. The lobby has Wine barrels hanging over it, the carpeting has grapevines on it, and the wallpaper has a golden/khaki colored grape leaf and vine motif.
The rooms are small for Embassy Suites. You get the 2 room suite, but it is old and a bit tired looking, with decor that is supposed to be reminiscent of old California Spanish Grape/Wine making, but just looks a little old.
The happy hour area was very small, but friendly staff. The Hors D'oevres were fruit kabobs and walnut bits. Late summer rates are pretty reasonable, much lower than more close in to city center Embassy Suites.
I didn't like the decor or older, smaller room, but I got 5 pillows and could have had the happy hour and free breakfast in a nice suite for $125, so who is complaining?

Courtney, at the front desk, wow. I mean...you should really put the customer on hold first before you mumble rude things about them.
I called to inquire about group rates, and the first time I was quickly transferred to a dead end line. Called again, same thing. I called back AGAIN and said to her politely that I was transferred twice to a hang-up line and could I please be transferred to a LIVE person, and she said "One moment please" in her little sweet voice. Then I heard some muffled sounds and a "God!", "Annoying", "Seriously", etc etc etc bitching about how I was being difficult..... and was transferred again to a hang up line. By this time I was steaming, called back again ready to give her an earful, and someone else answered the line. I told them what happened and within a minute I was speaking live on the phone to the lady in charge of group rate quotes.
Was it really that difficult for you Courtney?
Anyway. I stayed here once before and the room was made to sound like it was a grand suite, when we got there it was nothing more than 2 beds, a dinky sitting area, and a tiny bathroom. In fact, when I first went to use the bathroom, the door completely fell off the hinges. At best, this place made for some great jokes on my birthday weekend.
I assumed that this would be an inexpensive place close to our wedding venue that everyone could stay at after the rehearsal dinner, but in the end the rates were NOT cheap, and the service at the front desk was rather embarrassing. I think I'd rather go with Motel 6 because they are clean, nice and they leave the light on for you.

Clean, safe, nicely appointed (though small) rooms. Perfect for business travel, or a weekend away. Great location!
Internet isn't free (kind of a huge beef with me these days), but at least wireless is only $5/day.
Here's the dealio people!
It's an Embassy and if you've ever driven by one, stayed in one or looked at one online, you know that you aren't paying for atmosphere or a whole lotta purdy furnishings. What you are paying for is a safe, clean room to rest your head in and that is exactly why this hotel is PERFECT for a weekend in Temecula with the girls or guys.
They have suites here and they will sleep up to six people, granted this is 2 to a queen bed, but if you are rolling out to wine country with a bunch of girls, who cares, you'll all be drunk and pillow fighting after the wine tour anyway. The suites work out to about $30 a person a night and for that price, plus a pool, who cares what the room looks like, you are there for the wine and the tastings, so save on the hotel and bring more wine home!
So get a suite and get yourself signed up for the Grapeline tour (1-800-GO-GRAPE) and they will pick you up from the hotel and drop you back off after the day is over. It's the best deal you will find in the area for that kind of a weekend!

My fiance booked us on a hot air balloon for Valentine's Day. We had to be at the meeting place in Temecula at 6:00am so we decided to stay over the night before since we live an hour and a half away.
On the internet the Embassy Suites looked like a good option. The reviews didn't seem all that bad and the location was right.
It wasn't long after our arrival that we realized our mistake. The walls of our room were paper thin. We could hear every sound from the hallway and adjoining rooms. We even heard whispers. We could hear the people upstairs. We heard water running in other rooms. It was LOUD. The bed was really comfortable but that didn't help us sleep.
Aside from the noise problem, the pool seemed a little cold. I thought it should have been heated a little more considering it's February. I would have enjoyed swimming.
The breakfast was ok. It was better than the standard continental. They offered made to order omelettes which were tasty. They also had a waffle station and a hot buffet with scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausage. It was quite crowded and we had to sit outside in the cold but the food was good.
Oh, and the bathroom door didn't work properly. It was one of those slide dealies and you had to lift it and it made a really loud noise. You'd think this was a pretty basic thing they'd have working but no.
All in all it wasn't worth the money to stay here but it didn't ruin the weekend. The hot air balloon ride was amazing!
This is NOT an Embassy Suites. On our second stay there it was admitted to us that it was a Doubletree that was converted to an Embassy. The Breakfast area is small and cramped. Just try to get lunch...hello is there anybody home... you have to search for somebody to tell you that they were not open. However the location is great and that is why it is marketed as an Embassy and that is why I am planning my 3rd stay they this coming weekend. Second in the last month.
But check out is 12.00 the rooms are clean if not small. Missing the Atrium, but once again it is a Double Tree. Berakfaxt is good if not disorganized, coffe is in the hallway, if you can't find it you probably walked right past it.
