I love most Embassy Suites. . . 3 stars is relative to the accomodations at the other ones I've stayed at in KC, DC area, NE, CO, AZ and So Cal. This one has clean rooms and a courteous cleaning crew.
Most of the staff here a really nice and the lady in the gift shop is very helpful and remembers you. . . not something I experience much.
Free shuttle to BART and the airport.
Like all others there is a free breakfast and cocktail hour. Here they run out of things like bread and silverware early and the happy hour has chips and goldfish crackers only.
By evening the pool is littered with towels and napkins and the sauna doesn't really work.
If I didn't compare it to others I'd give it more stars. Rooms are spacious and you have a great chance of getting a view of the bay which is super cool.
Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Nice path that runs along the bay for walking.

Terrible dinner at the restaurant, maids knocking at 7 AM, out of coffee at breakfast.....
It's amazing what people can turn a blind eye to when there are koi ponds and a free breakfast involved.
g-h-e-t-t-o... I am SORRY... BUT... there must be a code for limited the amount of people in a pool. There must be like five hundred kids in that pool at one time. It is SOOOOOO unsafe and UNSANITARY. Then, when the kids are done swimming, they trot to their room soaking wet and people pack like 20 kids in two beds. I DON'T THINK SO. Is there not a limit to how many people in a room or in the pool? Enforce it people!!!!
I recently had my birthday party @ this hotel, and my guests were actually thanking us for inviting them to my birthday because they really enjoyed themselves the food was excellent and the service impeccable. Some have told me they have recommended it to their friends who are looking for a place to have their event.

Very nice server who was all alone and had to serve food as well as bartend-she was very nice! My girlfriend and I just had drinks and appetizers. The French Onion soup was GREAT, nice cheese and good broth. The spinach artichoke dip was good, but when asked a busboy for more chips, he rolled his eyes! The view of the sunset was FANTASTIC...but service very slow, but she did her best being alone. I took half my soup home to eat it for lunch today and it is sooooo good!
I did the romance by the bay package for me and my girlfriend. This should of included champagne, chocolate truffles, and two keepsake flutes. When we got in our room I didn't see any of these items. So I called and they said it should have been up there already. So they apologized and sent someone up to take care of us. Sure enough they did bring up champagne with a couple of glasses (nothing keepsake about them). I asked where were the chocolate truffles. They replied "Oh yeah we'll have someone bring that up later". So after a few hours and no chocolates, I called again to remind them. Since we were going to dinner I just told them to drop it off in our room. When we got back, there were a bag a Ghiradelli square chocolates on the desk (not truffles). I said oh well and took what we could get.
The reason that they didn't get a bad rating is because of the view we had and the happy hour (free drinks for 2 hours).

The fam and I spent Father's Day here grubbing down at the Champagne brunch.
Some favorites were the eggs beny, and the seafood station. Crab legs, mussels, clams.
The dessert table was good but I was disappointed there were no sugar free options for my dad who is diabetic.
The service was good not great. We had to ask for water and other drinks and there were several times we got up ourselves to re fill the OJ.
Would definitely come back though. I'll price range at moderate, $39 per person.

Stayed here this past weekend and overall we enjoyed it. They have an indoor swimming pool, 2 hot tubs and a dry sauna room. The rooms itself are 2 room suites that are quite spacious.
We loved their manager's reception which offers complimentary drinks and snacks. They say appetizers but in reality it is just goldfish, chips and salsa and pretzels. Not complaining...just stating facts. How can I complain when free booze is offered?
The cooked to order breakfast is also a great plus...and good. I am not saying that only cuz it was complimentary. The food was actually good.
Now to the why they are not getting 5 stars. Wireless high-speed Internet access is available in the suites but they charge $10 a day. I don't feel that hotels should charge their already PAYING guest this charge. Also, the room was very hot and your ability to control the temperature is limited.
All in all though, it was a enjoyable stay and we will be back.

The suites here are surprisingly decently priced for what you get. It's the type of place where I'd want to get away to for a night if I felt like casually throwing away $150. (Paid that much last time I was there for a suite with a room with a king-sized bed, and another room with a sofa bed and TV and mini-fridge and lots of other stuff other hotels don't offer for that price.)
I've been here twice, and would like to keep coming back. The place itself is beautiful. I haven't really tried their Sunday brunch, or their bar or anything, but staying in their rooms are more than a pleasant experience.

I frickin' love this place! - The setting is beautiful with the lush trees and posh bay setting, The staff has always been courteous to us and the rooms are large and comfortable. (I always get a bay view on the HHonors floors)
The cooked to order breakfast is great as long as you get down there before 9am to avoid the swarming crowd, and to ensure that you can get a tray and silverware.
Now, some things I don't care for: (and the reason why they get 4 and not 5 stars from me)
1. The last 3 times I have stayed here the hot tubs have been out of service and the pool has been smelly and full of kids who I'm sure were using it as a toilet.
2. I don't see how they can charge $10 for parking when the lot isn't regulated. People having parties have their guests in the hotel and they do NOT have to pay, but someone who is paying to stay has a charge to park?? and that's if you can even FIND a parking place when you arrive back at the hotel. ridiculous. (btw, I always get the charge reversed)
3. Lastly, the $10 internet surcharge. Even when I stay at the Motel 6, I get FREE internet.... wtf?
I love this place! I've been coming here for years... the relaxing and gorgeous atrium has entertained me (koi!) and soothed me all this time. It certainly doesn't hurt that the 2 hour managers reception (aka happy hour) is held in this area! with the free happy hour we can pretty much pay for our room in drinks saved ;)
the drinks have always been great... the bartenders will make almost anything, they just don't have top shelf brands.

* please * don't forget to tip them! They earn those tips!

1/2 of the hotel overlooks the water, so it's nice to see the bay and watch the planes come in. don't hesitate to ask when you're checking in for a water view room.
my only dissapointment -- the restaurant and room service. The room service menu is pretty much the same as the restaurant and it just wasn't satisfying. Way too expensive for such a limited menu.
they offer wifi, for a $10 a day surcharge.
their cooked to order breakfast is delicious. I'm still thinking about their omelette with fresh spinich and tomatoes for breakfast! just what popeye would want!

A small disclaimer: I stayed here after getting bumped from an overnight flight, so I spent all of about 8 hours at the hotel and it was free. That probably makes my review less than comprehensive and perhaps a bit biased. That said:
-The free shuttle to/from SFO was on-time and great.
-The front desk staff were extremely helpful. They were out of spare toothbrushes or toothpaste at the front desk, but it was about 2am and about 10-15 other airline passengers that had gotten bumped were there too, so I can't blame them on that one.
-The interior "atrium" area of whatever you want to call it was beautiful.
-The complimentary breakfast went WAY above and beyond what I expected; the food was excellent, the staff was friendly, and there was a LOT to eat.
-The shower was great.
-The room was clean and large, and the street noise was actually very low - I was surprised.
I think that about covers it! I doubt I'd ever pay to stay here because I'm too cheap, but if the price tag doesn't bother you or you find a deal - this place is excellent!
Loss of 1 star due to: slow climate control in room (couldn't see to get the air temperature where I wanted it in any short amount of time).
My husband and I had our May 2008 ceremony and reception at this hotel. Since we had elderly guests with some health concerns coming to the wedding, we needed to find a place for our wedding that would: 1. be easy for them to get to 2. be accomodating and 3. allow for them to come to the ceremony and then rest during the night as needed. Overall, I am mixed on this vendor and would like to give them 2.5 stars. Our big day was lovely, but this was largely in part to our other vendors' coordination and help and to our persistence with spelling out exactly what we wanted.
Our main complaint with this vendor is that they make you talk to one person from the restaurant for your event planning and another from the hotel for your room coordination, and neither were particularly helpful or responsive. Our emails and phone calls were typically returned less than half or the time, and at one point, my husband had to pop drop on them to get a response at all to our questions about getting the correct price on rooms for our guests.
The day of, the wedding went off without a problem and was exactly what we wanted. The setting was lovely, and the food turned out to be great. However, getting in touch with our contact people (they also switched our coordinator mid way through the planning process) was more stressful than it needed to be, and some mistakes were made, such as losing some of our guest gift bags. Additionally, we did have a bit of a horror story regarding one of our guests. Two nights before our wedding, our friend who has diabetes called down to the front desk at 6 am to request o.j. be brought to his room after he woke up experiencing very low blood sugar. Despite the fact that people were already setting up for brunch in the lobby, the front desk told him they couldn't do this even though he had clearly explained the reason! They later comped a meal for him, but this is fairly indicative of the service here.
Would I have my wedding here again? Given how much I liked the physical location and the value, yes, but I certainly suggest you use caution before entering into a contract with them.

D and I would have had our wedding reception at the Embassy Suites in Burlingame if we had our ceremony at Pulgas Water Temple. The lush gardens would have been great place to take pictures. The wedding packages that they offer are exceptional as well.
The ballroom is large and has a dance floor. It was your typical ballroom and the colors were more reddish.
We could have had a ceremony here as well for an extra charge. The ceremony would have been outside facing the bay. It's ok if you're ok with airplanes flying into SFO. It's a bit windy outside as well, so I would expect you'd have keep this into consideration for decorations. You do have the option to have the ceremony but I liked the outside better.

O.K. So I went here for my birthday with a couple gal pals. When I was checking in the lady at the front desk was sweet. I told her it was my birthday and she suggested all these cool places to go. She even printed up a list complete with directions and sent it to my room. She also sent me a bottle of champagne to celebrate my bday. SWEET!
The inside of the hotel is gorgeous! My room had a bay view and it was so cool to see planes fly in.
What I didn't like was the abundance of children. JESUS CHRIST! It's fine in the day time but at night they come into the hallways screaming and running. The pool is flooded with children. So don't even think about swimming unless you 14 and under. Although they do have adult swimming hour from 10pm until 11pm.
The restaurant in there, Rings sucks. There always closed and booked for some private party. The servers in there are rude. And there food is marginal. But thats another review.
But I had a nice time my room was comfortable. O! How could I forget.
They have complimentary brunch. And its delicious. made to order omeletes and all your other breakfast staples. Get there early though because the lines are ridiculous.
I'd stay again. but forget that restraunt. And that pissy pool.
Beautiful, peaceful atrium.
Free happy hour for guests of the hotel (and those with friends as guests...or those who wish to lie and say they are without a room key..)
Indoor pool, two hot tubs, sauna...
thanks for all the memories of Elevator Tag in the glass elevators, E.S.!!

I really liked this place, however, the sofa was uncomfortable to sit on. It's a little hard for my bum. The first night there, before bed, I wanted a shower, so as I ran the water...brown water came out...I have no idea what that was...but, after letting it run for a minute it finally became clear. I thought, maybe it hasn't been used in a long time...but, it happened again the next evening. Other than that, I had a great experience. The customer service was great. Loved the bed...slept very well throughout. Loved atmosphere...beautiful views...
Peoples! I just found out that JOHNATHEN BUTLER was fired from this place. Defintely not a friendly guy and definitely not what you call Embassy 5 star quality. With that said I bumped this place to 4 stars. Their rooms are roomie, you can walk along the bay which is steps away from the hotel and their breakfast is plentiful.

Ok well we had our wedding here and of course it was great (because we made it so) but there a couple of gripes with the place. The planning stage started off nice until they switched our event coordinator with another lady (Liza is her name so if you get her run for the hills). She was a total mess and almost made us cut our losses and find another venue. After a nasty e-mail we got her boss to do the talking with. Unfortunately I think all he did was talk to us and she did the work. We realized this in hind site, and looking back at emails. On the day of the wedding, if we didn't have great event coordinators on our end it would have been a mess. The staff set up late, the tables weren't set up like we asked, the names on the marquee kept saying the brides last name, Just constant chaos that I as the groom had to hide along with my event coordinators from the bride. I won't knock this place because it is beautiful inside and a nice place to stay but the planning side is something you really have to be on top of.
Three stars only because the coordinators almost ruined the most important day of our life, but the venue site is nice and a great back drop for a reception.

We had our wedding here in June 2008 and although I have to say our pictures look awesome, our friends & family had a great time, it was not easy planning a wedding & reception at this place. Very high stress. We chose this place because at first our contact was Sunna, AWESOME planner, always corresponded in a timely manner, but 1/2 way through the process, she got promoted and gave us Liza, who never returned my phone calls, emails or ANYTHING & when she did, it was no help! like planning a wedding is hard enough. So I contacted Sunna to see if there was any way I didn't have to work with Liza. Easy change. They gave us Shaun, who was super cool and on top of things.
But I still have a few complaints.
#1- I had an email confirmation and confirmed with Shaun that I was able to have rehearsal the day before. Didn't happen. The restuarant, where we got married, wouldnt let us have it and Shaun was no where to be found. So we held it outside and pretended it was inside. On the actual day, people complained that it was too hot in the restuarant and that no one in the back could hear the ceremony.
#2- They told us we couldn't decorate the reception area until 4pm because they had another event in the room. Our wedding was at 3pm, cocktail hour at 4:30pm, so some of our guests had to help decorate since we couldnt take care of it earlier. BTW, we didnt find this out until the night before that we couldnt decorate until 4pm. Poor planning on their part since they should think that people who are having a wedding reception will want to decorate & set up and not rush or send guests to do it for them.
#3- Because it was such a rush rush job, they didnt put the colored ribbon-sash on our chairs for the reception, something that was supposed to be included in the wedding package.
#4- They messed up a few people's order because they said they couldn't tell the difference between the gold stars and the silver stars, so guests didnt receive the food they requested. Our fault I guess since we could have used blue stars instead.
#5- Never got our champagne and strawberries in the honeymoon suite, again supposed to be included in the package, but of course we didnt get it.
#6- They lost our unity candles and I checked right away to see if we could retrieve it.
If you want to have a low stress wedding, I would not suggest going here unless you have a planner that is going to take care of all the details with the hotel. I will have to say, you get for what you pay for. This was one of the cheaper hotels to have your wedding at. The rooms are not bad, the happy hour not bad, the food is not bad. Ok, so i'll move my 1 stars to 1.5 stars, but they dont have that option. I wouldnt suggest this place to any bride, unless money is a problem, which was the case for us. We tried to do things cheaper so this was the consquence for that. We still had a wonderful day & very memorable so I wont take that away from it.
As a paying customer, or one who won a night's stay, it sucked. Anyone and their mama can come in and use the facilities which made for a crappy and crowded swim. Rowdy kids and an attendant who did NOTHING but sit there and watch as the kids screamed and splashed all over the place. The Happy Hour and the extensive morning breakfast made up for it, but again there was no real way to tell who was a hotel guest and who wasn't. The attendant again was rather picky and choosy over who she asked was staying in the hotel and what room and where the room key was. The atrium is quite nice and from the peeks that I got in, so were the ballrooms.

We stayed there this weekend.... the service was GREAT. I especially enjoyed the 2 hours of free cocktails..... They do cater to family's and I know I will sound horrible, but I've raised my kids soooooo I really hate kids that run wild and this place was full of kids.. Not really anything the hotel can do about it so I can't blame them... its those darn parents who think everyone in the universe is suppose to LOVE their kids as much as they do.... Well... sorry but I don't... I like it if you Keep IT out of my way..

I surprised my husband with a night stay for the New Years Eve celebration and a dinner reservation for the RING restaurant. First of all, their was no matradee to greet us to the restaurant. We waited there for 15-20 min. along with others who had reservations wondering what to do. We saw a few waiters scurring around and finally stopped one to ask if the place was even open. Really, we couldn't tell. No one was around!! When we finally were seated by the window with the fantastic view of the Bay, we noticed how cold it was. Lookig around, the staff knew it also cold because their were portable heaters everywhere. How "ghetto" is that. If I am paying for a $185(without tip) pre-set dinner menu (which we did not know was a new years eve thing. It would have been nice to know that inadvance), I would have not choosen to eat there. I immediately oreded coffee and my husband ordered a double Manhattan which took way longer than it should. I almost had two cups of coffee (enough for me to finally feel my fingers) before dinner arrived. We orders the fillet mignon and main lobster. The lobster was humongous but the fillet was no bigger than the palm of my hand!! I swear to God, we were shocked to pay $70 each plate. Oh, I didn't even mention our innitial service. We were the first to be seated but thrid to get bread and drinks. What's up with that!! We are paying customers like everyone else but feel it was due to our age. We are both 28, middleclass goodlooking couple. Sorry we are not over 50 and decked out in dimonds and gold. Whatever!!!
Anyhow, after paying that not-so-nice bill we went to our room. We were put on the seventh floor with a wonderful view of the Bay and we could watch the plans land and leave. Very cool!! The bathroom was clean and the shower pressure was like no other! WOW :) The bedding was very soft and CLEAN! They even state in their guide that they wash everything before putting back on the bed. That is nice to know!
Eventhough we were on the seventh floor, we could still hear kids laughing, very loudly infact. By 10:30, we had enough and decided to go home. I was fully prepared to pay half, even full price because we had booked it for the night and already used to shower and bed. To our surpirse, they did not charge me anything!! OH My GOD!! Really... yes really!! I was studded but didn't argue with them. They even gave us a bottle of champaign, wasn't that good but it was free and we rang in the new year with it :)
The only reason why I gave this place a three was because of the comp. If they didn't do that, I would have rated this place a ONE!! They understand how to treat a guest and know how to get us to come back.

This is a very beautiful hotel that over looks the bay. I enjoyed this hotel very much. It is a short drive from San Francisco, but very worth the peacefulness you find around it. Happy Hour and Breakfast has been what has kept me staying at various Embassy Suites, but the bartenders at this happy hour went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. We stayed 6 nights, and by the second night they knew our names, and what we drank. We have great service and no complaints!

The hotel is situated in a beautiful, quiet area that overlooks the bay. The inner courtyard is amazingly lush with trees and tropical plants. That's where it ends...the management does not keep accurate records which includes reservations, the bill was inaccurate and they overcharged for services. The room service which had been arranged with the reservation had to be arranged at last minute, since they had no record of us coming at all.

I called to find out about a seminar that was being held at there facilities and the operator was very rude. First she directed me to a catering voice mail instead of answer my question. So of coarse I had to call back and then she forward me to roon service. Either she does not really understand english or she just didn't want to help me. I am very disapointed. I will never stay there.
