I travel to Santa Clara VERY often and most of the time, it's too late to drive home. When that happens, I stay here at the ES Santa Clara. Clean, quite, friendly staff and a damn good breakfast in the AM. What more could one ask for.
My first encounter with the valley came as a young lad fresh out of an uptight Orange County high school, set to tour the campus of the most prestigious school of the entire bay area, (Go Bears!) completely awash in an era that has sadly gone to pass.
The late 90's were a glorious time to be a part of the bay area experience, madness could be found in every direction and for a short time it appeared that money, large amounts of it, were indeed raining from the sky.
Flash forward many years later and although I chose not to stay in the area this place will always hold a special part of my heart closely. Quite a sad and strange turn the valley has taken, the many empty buildings have come to resemble a ghost town.
The rooms are beyond what I have come to expect, the fact that they have an indoor pool and gym make this all the more appealing. The dining areas are grand and the small shop open 24-hours earns an extra star for catering to the nocturnal community.
I saw mention of the interior being lit too dimly, I would beg to differ, as I can attest there are seldom things worse than returning from a night of debauchery only to find yourself wading through a hotel lobby lit brighter than Wal-Mart on Sunday afternoon.
If you should you find yourself in the Silicon Valley, as opposed to Silicone Valley, a part of the world forever shattered the day I saw Jenna Jamison at a Target... Uh, where was I? Yes, if you are in the area I would indeed recommend this place for you to stay.
My mom use to take me here every year for birthday sleep overs with my friends. It always seemed to rain on my birthday which is fine in this hotel since it has an indoor pool!! I remeber it being a lot nicer then it was, the windows were dirty and it was a lot smaller then my memory servered, but that is always the way it is with childhood memories.
I held my 21st birthday party here since my apartment is so small the living room only holds like 4 people. I booked two rooms, one for me and my man (we stayed 2 nights), and one for 3 other friends who would be too drunk to drive anywhere. Online booking made it easy, and if you pay upfront, it's like $20 cheaper. I paid $99 a night for room that was 2x the size of a room I paid $125 a night for in NC and not 1/4 as nice!
The living area is decorated nicely with a great flat screen. The little work table was great and moveable so it became the "food station" for my party. The only thing which sucked with the mini fridge wasn't plugged in and we didn't notice till the next day, so our jello shots didn't solidfy =( The bathroom had such cute wallpaper and light fixtures!!!! The bed was big and comfy too. At first I didn't know we had a corner room so when I heard the elavator at night I had no idea what the hell that sound was!!! The breakfast buffet is ok, but did the trick for my friend with the hangover after nine tequila shots! We told the lady in the room next door we were having a party and if we got to loud to just knock. She was happy we told her and that we were partying safely. Overall the experince was good and I will be back again for a mini vacation just to get away from the house.
Im suprized not many people yelped this place...
I didnt stay here but I did get a tour here for my class. We were told they had just renovated the place and im not really sure what it use to look like but they did a nice job haha. We got a tour from Paulo Vergara (Sales Manager) and Greg Liversedge (Front Office Manager) They explained alot on this hotel and a little bit of the other Embassy Suites hotels. I thought they did a excellent job on giving us the tour.
Booked a block for our wedding:
The sales department made exceptions when they could (pple were booking their rooms later than the cut-off date), and the guests who took advantage of the breakfast liked it a lot.
We had it for two nights in which the first night they had champagne (we missed out on this) and the second night, chocolate covered strawberries.
Highly recommend if you're in the area.
I had a great experience overall, from booking my soccer team with the sales staff to the great breakfasts to checking out. I worked with a sales person named Paolo who was very flexible and had great recommendations (he even called restaurants in the local area to get me reservations for my team, which he didn't have to do). The rooms were a lot nicer on the inside than I expected. Luxorious. The breakfasts are out of this world and are probably the best of all the hotel chains. I recommend this hotel and I will put my soccer team back in next year. Mahaloooooooos!
It's very close to Applied main campus.
The best part is free breakfast, free HH drinks, two 42" plasma TVs, one is in living room and the other one is in bedroom, king size bed, office section, free internet after company discount.
Just found out the parent company is Hilton.
I stayed their for one night over the weekend and I don't think I'll be going there (at least the one in Santa Clara) again. When we got there, the lobby area looked very nice as well as the eating area. Our room was on the third floor and it was nice, I was in the standard king suite; bedroom, living room, 2 plasma TVs, and a couple more things. It looked nice and comfy.
Later on in the night was the major problem, the walls seemed like they were so thin! Throughout the night the people in the next room were so loud that we had to call security twice. The guard went up the first time, but nobody listened and so we called again 15 minutes later hoping that it would settle down. But unfortunately they still kept the noise going. You could hear everything going on, the worst part was when people would slam the doors!
All in all, the first part of our stay was nice and calm. But beware of people who are going to party next to you, play loud music, yell to each other down the hall, and slam the doors as they exit! Maybe it was the third floor, hopefully the next floors up are better.
Rooms have been recently redone, and for business travel they're pretty comfortable. But the hotel overall is pretty depressing. Especially the bar.
I've been staying in this hotel for several months now for work. Yes it's near the Applied Materials campuses. It's also near Ihop, Bennigan's, Mcdonalds, Jack in the box, and Sizzler. Not to mention a gas station for those of you who need to gas up before returning your rental car. They actually just did a renovation. So new carpet, bed, furniture, wallpaper, 2 flat screen tvs, living room (with sofa bed), and bedroom. You get a fridge and microwave too. Yes, free breakfast and happy hour with drinks and snacks. All the empoyees are super nice and accomodating as well. Free parking too!
