Sorry to hear of brewgirl's bad experience here with loud obnoxious brats and their oblivious parents.

http://www.yelp.com/bi...

Maybe I had my kid googles on, but I found them very accommodating to families. Rooms are all new and clean with decent amenities.  Rooms are big and comfortable enough accommodate traveling families. Yeah, there were lots of families durning the holidays, but everyone seemed calm, cool and collected. At least with my little angels, lots of adults complimented us on our sweet children. (Yeah, I'm a sucker for that kinda thing.)

They even have movie evenings (around 5:30PM) for kids. They also post when they feed the koi fish in the pond.

Good room amenities. Thick towels. rooms very quiet (despite all the rugrats).

Fitness center on the small side, but neat, clean and up to date. Pool and sauna is a good diversion for the family in between sightseeing.

Location off Dupont Circle can't be beat. You can get just about anywhere via a short jaunt to Metro.

The room is fantastic, as others have noted, but there were two BIG downsides to this place such that we would never stay here again.  One is that they have a tiny parking lot, and even their overflow space is limited.  We arrived at 6pm and were sent to the Ritz Carlton down the street.  But we met someone at breakfast who arrived at midnight and had to wait until 2:30am to park someplace.  On our last day we were going to Baltimore for a baseball game and didn't want to walk back from another hotel very late.  We snagged a space in the basement garage, and wound up with the very last spot and are hoping no one takes our bumper off going around the corner.

The second is that you shouldn't view this "wonderful" breakfast as "free".   On our first day, the line was 30 deep, even for the prepared hot foods, and my wife went through 5 plates before finding a clean one, and multiple forks as well.   We commented to the manager, yet the next day, not only were the lines just as bad (not in their control) but the plates and utensils were again filthy.  For our third and final day, we're heading to Eggspectation

Loud obnoxious children and their oblivious parents rule this hotel.  If you want a hotel wherein to let your children run loose without consequences, this is the place for you.  All others--stay far away!!!  Even if the kids were to happily disappear, the adults still are loud.   A wedding reception was going on in the ballroom, but drunk guests were spilling out into the atrium/lobby area, breaking many glasses on the floor and screaming late into the night.  Get the f'back into the ballroom and stop disturbing the hotel guests.  Where's a cattle prod when you need one?

All in all, the extra room space and free breakfast you get at this hotel aint worth it.

Do people in DC not Yelp or something?! How can there only be 4 reviews for this place (as with the previous restaurants I just Yelped). The Embassy Suites is by far the best hotel I've stayed in in the US. Our room had 3 sinks, one in the bathroom, one for the vanity in the bedroom, and another in the living room across from the fridge/cabinets. Continental breakfast was pretty good too--they even had their own pour-your-own-mix waffle makers! The omelet guy was pretty impressive--he made four at once to speed up the line. The scrambled eggs, hash, bacon, sausage, were all mediocre, and the fruit selection wasn't too eclectic (apples and bananas again?), but I wasn't hungry...ever.

The hotel lobby was pretty tiny, but there were free internet booths. The rest of the ground floor consisted of the dining area and a huge koi pond with a mini island/waterfall that connected to the second floor. One architecture student commented, "That's such a waste of space", but hey, it was pretty I guess. We held a conference in the ballroom, which fit all 175 of us, but I think we'll outgrow it next year. An upgrade to the Ritz Carlton would be nice!...but I like the Embassy Suites too.

My dad was staying here and wanted my sister and I to come down and visit him.  I thought we'd be crowded, but I forgot about the "Suites" part.  I slept on a very comfortable pullout couch, while the snorers had the double bedroom to themselves.  The rooms were very nice and included a real refrigerator, not just the mini bar.

The best part, though, was the full breakfast the Embassy Suites offers.  Omelets, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, and more.  How awesome is that?  If you were traveling on a budget, it would be worth it to stay here, have a giant breakfast, and then stock up on snacks for later.

I will certainly be back.

This is one of the better hotels in this area.  The staff is very friendly and if you return, they try to remember you and make your stay that much more enjoyable.  I work in DC so I stay here very often during the week, and I really haven't had much of a problem.

The lobby is pretty nice for an Embassy Suites... There is a waterfall in the atrium, with koi fish.  There is a feeding for them, but I have never gone.

Of course the make your own omelet breakfast is great.  And the manager's special?  Usually we tip a couple bucks to the server and it's still a damn good deal.  If you go, make sure you hook them up, don't be a bastard and not tip.

Room service is ok, they use the Trattoria restaurant which is a basic Italian restaurant.  They also have a decent computer area with 4 or 5 computers.  And a ticket printing kiosk by the front desk.

Most times, the prices are pretty decent as well.

Best hotel I've stayed at in a while. First off, it's awesome that every room here is a suite. The main room has a fold-out couch, big flat screen TV, sink and fridge, small dining table. Not that I really used it, but it was awesome to just have it there.

Secondly, free breakfast with possibly all breakfast items you could want. Sweet.

Third, manager's happy hour every day from 5:30-7:30 p.m. - free alcoholic drinks (yeah, for real!) plus snacks. That rocked.

Fourthly (?) - While you have to pay to use internet from your own computer in your room, they have plenty of computers with free internet and printers you can use in their lobby and business center.

And last but not least, excellent location - just a 10-15 minute walk to Foggy Botton, Dupont Circle and Georgetown.

I just stayed at this hotel by chance.  It's quite nice, but be forewarned if you try to check out early, they may try to raise the rate on you.  Very nice breakfast, big suites.  Overall a good deal for DC and a nice hotel by any standard.
