This Embassy Suites has been around the block. It has been here for awhile, the architecture and design indicative of the earlier lay-outs.
They have done a decent job of hiding its age, like a women who knows just how to do her make-up and use eye concealer, and wear that girdle and bra support sold on that TV infomercial that lifts the breasts and adds youth to the tummy line.
The lobby is plush, designed to mimic an exotic East India decor, with high ceiling fans slowly moving, and Indian art on the walls. The theme is carried into the signature large Atrium that is Embassy Suites. The lush waters and Koi fish give a real jungle feel of India.
The rooms are a little less concealing, still attractive as a cougar but not as fresh an long legged as a twenty something.
It has a good location, right off the 55 freeway and near the SNA airport. So you have easy access to the 405, and the 5 and all parts of Orange County.
My rate in February was $139, which is low season, but a good price for a suite room, with fridge, microwave, and front living room with king sized bed and 2 (tube based) TVs. . If you figure in a free breakfast and cocktail hour, you are saving another $20 - $30 a night. So a good value.
But like a nightclub filled with cougars, just don't turn on the lights too bright before they have a chance to leave earlier.

Just got back from a weekend stay at this hotel. I was traveling with my wife and two young sons. The atrium area is beautiful. This is where the free breakfast is served. The breakfast was good and it will save you a few bucks over eating breakfast out. The rooms are on the small side and could definitely use updating but ours was clean and adequate. It looked like most rooms also have balconies of varying sizes. My sons liked having their own room and TV. I would stay in this hotel again especially for the price. They do charge for wi-fi ($6 a day) but parking is free and there were no other 'extra' charges on our bill. Just room and tax.
BTW If you are shopping for a room there are several in this immediate area that are all acceptable

Typical Embassy Suites, which means decent breakfast attacked by hordes of people wanting freebies and screaming kids running rampant, adequate sized rooms (though at this location the rooms and the biznez center are permeated by that cheap motel smell, you know, like the Dew Drop Inn in Barstow you were forced to stay at that one night), the Pcs in the biznez center block Facebook for some reason (staff sez its Hilton policy, but I've only noticed it at Embassy Suites)...the place might have rated higher except for the numbskull who for fun set off the fire alarm at midnight and woke everyone in the hotel up until the staff could find the off button 10 minutes later.
The people here at Embassy Suites will make your stay as comfortable and as easy as they can. The front desk people know your name probably within the first week you repeat stay and there are perhaps a handful of employees who will always be there to check you in and out. There are a number of amenities that make this place probably the better hotel to stay at in the area.
There is food in the morning and you have some very nice people to make it for you. You can get the omlete plain or with sausage, onions, and other stuff. I usually got it with spinach and jalapenos. The food is pretty good most days, but sometimes they didn't use powdered eggs like other hotels usually do when they "offer" breakfast.
The food here has gotten much better and they stopped being super skimpy on the happy hour after the food doesn't dissappear after one serving. This is the spot to be.

I have to be honest I have paid WAy more and gotten WAY LESS! Embassy Suites has a SMART set up for your comfort. I appreciate the design of each room having a separate living area and sleeping area. Thank you for having a TV in each! The indoor Pool was a Plus as we were there on Spring Break with not-so-great weather! The value is wonderful! You can't beat the breakfast, it's a real breakfast for even the pickiest of eaters, and from what I understand always free (I usually avoid those offers as "food" is interpreted differently by many. I highly recommend this hotel for people with children. It will save your sanity! The garden staff was nice enough to allow our children to feed the Koi fish in the indoor pond-how NICE! I tell you, I have stayed at nicer places, but this was a pleasant suprise!

This Hotel is just fantastic. The Capistrano restaurant inside is amazing. I am getting married in this hotel and the package deal is very fair price with amazing customer service and care. I highly recommend this place.

It is a beautiful hotel. We saw it right when we got off the freeway and were really excited. The room is huge and includes a nice living room when you first enter. The bathroom is a little small but its still a beautiful and roomy suite. The pool was a nice size and they also have a jacuzzi and a sauna. They have a huge workout room too. They also have complimentary breakfast everyday. You have to pay for wi-fi which sucks but its alright. We got a sweet deal because we were coming down here for Musink Tattoo Festival and they even provided shuttles to the festival which was a huge relief for us. We definitely will be staying here again when we return to the Santa Ana area.

We reserved a suite here for the wedding night. The room was quite nice with a living room area separate from the bedroom. The bathroom was nice and large. The curtains were very thick to help block out the morning sun after staying up to the wee hours of the morning. They provided us with a wonderful romantic touch of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.
I loved the garden atrium in the hotel. It provided a nice and relaxing ambiance. If there was a reason to stay here in the future, I probably would. However, I'm not sure how much it costs per night, but I can't imagine it to be too reasonable. Sufficed it to say, this was a nice place to stay and was quite close to our wedding venue.
We would have enjoyed the complimentary breakfast they provide, but by the time we finally got ourselves together and ready for the day, we missed it by 5 minutes. Ah well, we ate a fantastic breakfast nearby before meandering our way back home.

Change the name of this place to Motel 200.
Take a 1960s design with 1980s decor and then don't update the place for 25 years. The place is just creepy. We are staying here for another of our many trials.
The breakfast is complimentary. It's o.k.
The business center rooms are adequate. But the place is totally unreasonable about making keys for access. We had 4 people staying and but they would only give one person a key.
We have to lug our own stuff -- can you say motel 200? Motel 6 started out as $6 a night. This place charges $200 and is no better.
When I was having challenges with my stuff, I looked with askance for a little help. They had five guys behind the counter @ 11 pm. No customers to register but they watched me struggle.
And what is it with the phones? No instructions and only one button seemed to work.

I've stayed here for a total of 8 days over 3 stays and have really enjoyed my time here. The rooms are very spacious and well lit. The staff is courteous. And best of all - free breakfast and happy hour.
This place is no Ritz-Carlton (and you're not paying for Ritz-like quality either), but they try to work with what the have and do a good job. The common areas are very spacious and the the dining areas definitely have a very tropical feel. My girlfriend loves the coy fish and the turtles in the man-made creek/fountain running through the dining area/restaurant.
Areas to improve: the gym is a bit small for a hotel this size, and the pool isnt great.
I recommend this place.
This has to be a joke.
I can't believe my office travel agency put me up in this place. It is all families. The bedspread is one of those synthetic, crusty ones. Okay, the room is huge and it is a suite, but the elevators running up and down the blocks and blocks of rooms remind me of that scary scene in the matrix. And all the kids. All. The. Kids. And the mothers that yell at them.
Biggest sadness: no minibar.
I was too busy to even check where the travel agency put me before I left and didn't even pay attention until I punched the address into Neverlost. I'll have to remember not to do that again. Especially in Irvine, where there are so many of those strip-mall hotels.

The price was really reasonable. and the location is good for all of your orange county needs (Disneyland, airport, south coast plaza). Of course the free breakfast! but that's where the good stuff ends.
the water pressure for the showers suck. watch out if someone flushes a toilet. that's when you will notice the water pressure go down and the water gets hot and lots of swearing.
also the rooms seem smaller than other embassy suites.
and who charges for internet anymore? The Hawaii Embassy Suites gives you internet for free. Even when I made a pit stop at Days Inn the night before I had free internet.
And I guess it did'nt help that there was a border patrol recruitment day in the lobby and just getting out of the elevators was a pain in the ass.
I will never stay at this hotel ever again. We were there for the T-day holiday expecting a nice peaceful stay.
Instead, we were there with an obnoxious group of soccer players there staying there for a tournament.
Hundreds of them. One night after having kids pound on my door several times looking for their friends next door I look out in the hall and see that children are wheeling each other down the hall (eight floor with a rail to the courtyard) in the towel carts.
All weekend long their main recreation seemed to be elevator tag, clogging the elevators. When not doing that? Wrecking the PCs in the biz center using Myspace.
And the pool and jacuzzi? Couldn't use 'em, filled with kids.
I tried to get the hotel to at least clear out the hallways of the towel cart races and the front desk said they'd take care of it. They did nothing. This was at 10 p.m. mind you, I didn't bother earlier in the day.
I realize that the hotel can't play nursemaid, but they can tell children to knock off the noise and to stop using the elevators as toys. and maybe ask the chaperones to do their job.
Yes, the rooms were clean and the linens replaced.
Bu the stay was very unpleasant. I think management could have tried to ensure a peaceful environment for all guests, especially when asked specifically to handle it.
