I am rarely disappointed at an Embassy Suites and this stay lived up to my expectations in every way.  Not only is it located in one of the most beautiful scenic areas of this great nation, but the quality of accommodations and level of service is consistently high.

Check in was prompt and friendly. Our room was clean and spacious with a nice view. The free breakfast is always fresh and filling. We took advantage of the hotel shuttle to avoid the traffic and parking issues at Cannery Row. Our driver was really nice and very accommodating. We called when we were ready to be picked up and within 20 minutes we had a free and relaxing ride back to the hotel.

On our last night, we had difficulty ordering movies on the living room TV, so engineering promptly responded and tried to fix it.  While he was working on things, one of the managers knocked on the door, just to check his progress and see how it was going.  He was a really nice guy and when it was determined nothing could be repaired that night, he offered us free room service for dinner that night.  I was very impressed by the level of caring customer service we received.  They made us feel like VIP's!

I was feeling happy and brave, so I donned a bathing suit and we spent a couple of late night hours enjoying the pool and jacuzzi which was open until Midnight. Met some nice people and had a really good time.

Everyone on staff was extremely friendly, accommodating and willing to help. I would definitely return to this ES!

We made the reservation here because with 3 teens, we need a suite hotel that's affordable, and ES doesn't usually disappoint.

The hotel itself was clean, if not a bit dated (we are running across this a lot lately). Our room was nice, but the A/C didn't work all that well and it was a little stuffy. My one huge complaint was that the tub was very sluggish in draining, so much so, that you were basically showering in undrained bathwater (I forgot to let the front desk know about this the morning of our 2nd day).

The immediate surrounding area is a little ugly; we were looking directly down into a dirt backyard that was being used as a parking lot. The complementary breakfast is only served until 9:00, so if you want to sleep a little late, you're SOL. The first morning we missed it, and ended up at the McD's across the street (which was the flithiest I've ever seen). The second morning, we made it to breakfast, and it was extremely mediocre (congeled eggs & oily bacon; I know, what do you want? Wicker?)

Seriously, other than that it was fine. I know it sounds like I hated this place, but really, the room was sufficient, clean and priced well. With the correct set of expectations, this is a fine place to stay at.

We had our wedding reception here and it was awesome!!  Alicia Philips our coordinator was the best.  All the staff was super friendly and helpful to all our family and friends.  There were a couple of mistakes but they fixed them right away.  The food was good.  We had the Chicken Wellington which they didn't recommend because it could go soggy but it was the bomb!  Even our guests complements the food!  Wish I could do it again!!  Too much fun!  Great rooms, great pool, loved the breakfast and most important clean!!

When they first built this hotel, I thought Yikes!  Looked like they were sponsored by Pepto Bismol.  Just so pink.  But after several years of driving by I've come to realize that is has probably helped our community in some strange way.  That whole stretch of Del Monte has been picking up, tidying up and bringing more business.

I've never had a reason to stay here but I've done a few walk throughs and the service seemed pretty friendly.

OK!  What are you expecting?  A well run, clean, efficient, convenient, comfortable place with all the necessary amenities like large rooms, great beds, included breakfast buffet and happy hour?  All rolled into an atrium style hotel with plenty of parking located just off Highway 1 north of Monterey and Carmel?
THIS IS IT!  Typically great place to stay anywhere in America, this chain is reliable and reasonably priced.  I say they are batting 1,ooo!

The service in this hotel is the last thing I think about or remember.
I'm pretty sure the front desk lady was nice but blah, blah, who cares.

What I DO care about was the freakin' view. The view of Monterey Bay, the ocean.. the ocean.. the ocean. Sigh. The seals at night were seriously loud, I mean our room was pretty high up and their sounds were very clear. I was almost annoyed, but too fascinated to not appreciate.
I'm easily amused.

I really liked the whole "mini-living room" with the couches, that whole chill spot. It made the suite so much more comfy. Very nice, very clean, no complaints.

I am an Embassy Suites fan and this one doesn't dissapoint. We ordered the chocalte cake for room service and it was great! The service was excellant but the view of the parking lot wasn't that great.

An average embassy suites, but not the best I've ever been too.  Rooms were comfortable and clean and breakfast is always a plus.  Before you use the pool tho, check the temp, it was brrrr - very cold.

This hotel is an perfect example of how not to run a hotel.

But let's start off with the hotel facilities. First when you walk in you are greeted by a check in desk that is many individual desks and it is rarely staffed fully, if at all. Then you get into the main area that is a dark salmon pink. It looks awful and makes it constantly dark and depressing inside. The elevators are slow. The rooms are small for the price. The tub style bathroom is old and outdated, you have to run the water for a number of minutes to get any hot water. The TVs are old and make a hitch pitched sound when running. The only redeeming value is the free drinks during the happy hour, I would say that the free breakfast is redeeming too but the food is of low quality.

If you have any issues with the hotel, don't expect management to do anything about it. I spoke with multiple managers to try and resolve the issue and they either didn't care, didn't act, or were incompetent. I would highly recommend that you try and find a Marriott brand hotel when staying in this area. The Hilton brands seem to act more and more like their most famous namesake.

Uggh!  I've been an ES patron forever! But this specific location was a real turn off. The location is great (heller - that's Monterey) but the service was very disappointing!  You opt for room service to relax but when the food is as bad as it was I might as well mustered my energy and drove to the nearest McD or BK.  Wow -   Cook-to-order breakfast? Sure..but the staff themselves did not even know where to find what!! I'd stay here gain for free but never to patronize room service or better yet - acquaint myself where to find what for my breakfast the next morn! And what's with the elevator - took forever to reach the 10th floor - good to use stairs going down but who wants to come back up the stairs for the 10th floor???????????????????

I think this place is pretty decent.  Only stayed a couple of days, but that is okay.  We requested a view of the ocean and got a room facing the ocean.  However, we were only on the third floor, so we didn't actually SEE the ocean.  Oh well.  Most of the room was pretty clean.  HOWEVER, I walked around in my socks for a while (Monterey is CHILLY!)  and it didn't take long for me to realize that the bottoms of my socks were filthy. Very gross.  I know it's a hotel, and they get lots of traffic, but still....   Anyhow, our experience with the staff was always positive.  They were friendly and the maintenance crew would greet us and say hello and make friendly small talk.  Very nice.  Unfortunately, I didn't get the opportunity to go to the free breakfast or happy hour, though I wish I had.  Maybe next time...  As for the other amenities of the hotel, they were decent.  As someone else mentioned, they have a small-but-nice fitness area.  The pool and hot tub area was ok.  The first night, the hot tub was broken or something, so we just used the pool, which was c-o-l-d.  By the second night, it was fixed, so I got to use it.  The sauna was nice though.  Overall, it was decent.  I'd stay again, I suppose.

This is a good place for families when staying in Monterey.  The kids will love the turtles and Japanese koi in the atrium area!!!

The 2-room suites are fairly comfortable for a family of 4, but it would be even better if the bedroom was a few feet larger....

It is totally convenient to have the breakfast buffet which has a wide variety of items: hot/cold cereal, juice, coffee, made-to-order omelets, pastries, bagels, English muffins, potatoes, bacon, etc.

They have a "brand-new" fitness area with the state-of-the-art Precor equipment.

It is only 15 minutes away from the aquarium, Cannery Row, etc.

This hotel does look dated, but it was clean and comfortable. The rooms were also very spacious as they had a living room area with a table to set up a desk and then a bedroom in the back.

I loved the free happy hours from 5-7pm. It was a nice way for people in a group to get together before dinner. The breakfast was also included in the price, which was convenient but nothing special.

The location was great too - very close to downtown Monterey and Carmel. Would stay here again.

+1 star for the room
+1 star for exceptional service and friendliness from all staff
+1 star for breakfast and happy hour

The rooms are a good size, and the hotel is well kept although dated in some aspects.  I really like the mini kitchen and sofabed in the living room.  Other than the small perks it's pretty basic.

Housekeeping service has been above and beyond; they're even unplugging my unused phone chargers during the day and wrapping up the cords!  Housekeepers being green!  Also they fold and hang my clothes and arrange all my toiletries daily.

The food around here is hopeless.  There's room service and the restaurant downstairs, both of which are overpriced and basically crap.  Room service also charges a $3 tray fee, 18% gratuity, and tax.  And the clam chowder in a bread bowl?  Super salty with no bread bowl!!!  Outside the restaurant is a Chili's and a McDonald's.  I'm here for 2 weeks =(

Oh, I should mention there's a complimentary breakfast buffet and omlette bar which varies from edible to pretty good, and free happy hour nightly from 5:30 to 7:30pm.  Just for those, I'm going to add another star.  I guess i'd do 3.5 if I could.

I hear there are nice high end dinner places in the area, but yelp has given me nothing but 90% taquerias.  Well.  Great service!  Stay here if you plan on eating all your meals outside the area!

We've stayed here a couple of times with family. Nice clean hotel. No complaints of the room. Nice sofa bed in sitting area and separate bedroom for privacy.

Great free happy hours for the kids and adults. Juices and snacks for the kids. Great breakfast with hot foods.

We stay at Embassy suites all over the US all the time. This was disappointing in several areas.
The good things were the staff and the free parking. That's about it, though.
The indoor pool was freezing cold. They were asked if anything could be done and they did make an effort to pour warm water into the pool. I appreciated the fact they tried. However, I don't think it made a difference. The next morning when we went back in it was colder than it was the day before. There's no excuse for that. Either it's an indoor heated pool or it's not. Someone mentioned maybe they are trying to cut costs. That's possible because the towels for the guests in the pool area were laughable. They were not much larger than hand towels.

The room we were in on the 12th floor was apparently near an outdoor fan that never went off all night. When we first went to bed I honestly thought there was a helicopter flying overhead. When we realized the noise was in the room and there was a constant flow of cool air coming in above the door and in the bathroom we called maintenance. They came up and said that's just the way it is in the room since we're on the top floor. It's not like this on any other floor. So we were stuck with the noise and air flow. That would be annoying all on it's own but it was doubly annoying since I spent 5 minutes at check in explaining I was a light sleeper and really wanted a quiet room. They tried to accomodate us but the fact is I hardly slept. Everyone at check in should know about the 12th floor and not put people there who ask for quiet rooms.

Customer Service has been POOR for 2 years in a row. The front desk clerks always seem to be absent. They forget to send towels when you call and ask for them. The cleaning staff forgot to actually clean the room. I have never been so disappointed by a hotel, especially in this price range.
I had a poor experience last year in this hotel, and gave them the benfit of the doubt, but when you are competing with Marriott hotels, you have to work harder (Avis, we try harder).
Embassy- please work on your customer service! Chances are my employer will choose this hotel for the Sea Otter once again, and I would love to be able to improve this review.
The food here is less than great, as well. You are better served to go into Monterey.

I am a bit shocked that I gave an essentially low-end Hilton hotel 4 stars, but it deserves it.

Was it the Ritz?  No.  Four Seasons?  No.  But, could the people at either of these two places been nicer or more friendly than the folks at this particular Embassy Suites?  No way.

Our first night here we had dinner at the hotel's restaurant and the food was decent.  But, there was jazz playing in the bar (local band) and we had 3-4 servers helping our table out and they were all very friendly and curious about our plans for the weekend.  My son kept getting up from the table and dancing to the music and one of the servers just started dancing with him - it was really sweet.  And, amazingly, it all felt sincere.  Even as I type this I wonder at how jaded I must be given how impressed I was by the sincere sweetness of people at a hotel - but, think about it - kinda rare!

Fast forward to the next morning and we are down in the same restaurant for breakfast - by the way, did I mention that there is a happy hour with FREE drinks (all you can drink) from 5:30-8:00 p.m. and that the breakfast buffet is also complimentary.  And this was not a continental breakfast.  We had the choice of cereal, oatmeal, grits, scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, home fried potatoes, pancakes, bagles, fruit, yogurt, juices, coffee & there was an omelet bar to boot!  Was it all 5-star food, no!  But the service was definitely 5 star.  There was one gentleman, Steven, who it seemed simply ran from the kitchen to our table bringing water, napkins, milk, more water (Eli spilled), more napkins, more milk (Eli broke his milk glass with a speeding match box car), more napkins, a bagel...  Ordinarily I would have expected Steven to be rude or obnoxious with us - we were customers from hell - we deserved rudeness.  But NO!  He was kind, gentle, understanding, supportive and helpful throughout breakfast and had great suggestions for things to do while we were in town.  After everything he did for us, he asked, "Is there anything else I can do for you?"  Simple phrase, didn't sound at all rehearsed, and the effect on me was substantial - I felt that that was why he was there - to serve us - really top notch.

After another round of free drinks in the evening and a complimentary breakfast the following morning, we discovered there is a craft room for the kids and there was a clown tying balloons for kids - Eli got a monkey.

We stayed in a 2 room suite and the logistics worked out pretty well for a family with a 3.5 year old and an 8 month old.  I would say that the whole experience would have been a 2 or 3 star experience, but the people at the hotel really made the difference.  Great folks that take really good care of you while you are here.

Adequate and fairly typical Embassy Suites in Seaside, the poor man's town next to Monterey. Large and inviting exteriors and public areas (the check in counter is weird, being split into four seperate free standing desks), the obviously a bit dated suites are not excessively large, in fact are a bit cozy, but have small balconies and if you're lucky enough to get one overlooking the Bay, have great views. Food is so-so at breakfast, but since its included in the price whats to worry? They could also upgrade the snacks at the evening reception but just have a bunch of the free weak drinks and you will become rapidly happy anyway.

This is an excellent hotel in Monterey.  Better than monterey plaza, spindrift, or the hyatt.  We had a one bedroom large suite for $239/night.  The service was GREAT!  All our needs were met.  The workers there responded to all our calls on time and were very helpful and friendly.

The room was nice, we were on the 11th floor and had nice views of the ocean and monterey.  The hotel is 12 stories and has a very nice lobby with elevators looking out.  Also, they have good free breakfast including omelettes, etc...

They also have happy hour from 5 - 7 with free drinks and appetizers.

We will definately come back here and will try other Embassy Suites.

For an Embassy Suites, this is a pretty OK one.  It's in Seaside, so not really near anything fun, which means  you have to drive everywhere.   But the hotel itself is nice. The rooms are big.  The free breakfast and free happy hour are also a nice little extra.   If you can't find a room at the Monterey Marriott, Portola Plaza hotel or Hotel Pacific, than this is the place for you.
