The Long Island diner market is very competitive and people have their favorites and remain very loyal and usually don't travel very far.
This diner has been here forever and it may well be because they have the best damn onion rings in the world. Every diner makes onion rings . . . some are good (Plainview Diner) and some are crap. Embassy's are the bomb! We used to schlep from Huntington, Woodbury & Plainview when we just had to have their onion rings.

Very good diner.
The Embassy has been around for eons and serves up delish diner fare at good prices.
Service is always on the money and as a result, the place is always hopping.
Big parking front and back.

As Jeff P. said, LJ has plenty of diners. We went to this one on Christmas night, since we were driving by, and I wasn't overly impressed.
I have ordered the same meal in a dozen diners, and all are fairly consistent. It was sub-par at the Embassy Diner.
Maybe it is unfair to rate a diner on a holiday evening. I expected the crappy service that we received. But the meal just wasn't what i expected.
